Technology Strikes Again

The technology freaks strikes again! Oh NO!!!!

I broke down this morning and ordered a Palm Pilot so that I can keep my itineraries for the rest of the year (October WDW, Disneyland, and DISCON) in one easy place without having to lug a three-ring binder around each time. Also found that the Palm will interface with Microsoft Money so I can keep track of my checking, savings, and expenses while I'm away from home.

How commando is that?? I'm refusing to buy a cell phone, however, so I figure there's still hope for me.

disneycub....WOrk is beging me to carry a cell phone. ICKY...No thanks.

I do have a laptop (my Excel sheets are on there as well as my desktop) so I think it will just have to go to WDW with me. Dan is going to carry his cell phone in case work needs him

I had a laptop last year when I went to WDW, but then I bought a new desktop, so gave the laptop to a friend of mine. Duuuuh! Oh well, he needed a computer, and I thought I could do without it.

I thought I was a tech freak too! Got myself a digicam on this trip to the US. It all went well until I tried to download my Seattle pictures... It is still a mistery to me...
Well, I will know all about the thing before I go back to the US and to Discon. Palm pilot, hmmm. This sounds great.

Oh Steve! It's good see this post! You crack me up! I doubt I'll go that far...LOL...but I do have a cell phone~~~and I've had DH calling around checking on 'national plans' so if (more like WHEN) we use them (he has one too) at WDW this December it won't cost soooo dang much!~~~and I do want DH to bring his laptop (work-issued) so we can download pics from our digital camera (MY birthday present this year) while we're there!

LORD, what did we do before all this technology??? I absolutely do not know!

I got a new plan for my cell phone (anytime anywhere..no roaming charges and no long distance charges) right before we went to WDW in May and my DH was so impressed he upgraded his cell phone too to the same plan. It was great! At one point when he went to get his AP, I went somewhere else and then I just called him (or he called me, I forget) and we hooked up again. Plus we were meeting another DIs couple while we were there and I could call their room with no charges either. We called back home too with no charges. It's great and not very expensive!

Tia we have Verizon Wireless, what do you have?

Sad as this is I imagine that we will have both of our cell phones, a laptop and a palm pilot with us on our "vacation"

I love tech toys!! Through work I have a laptop and beeper (don't like that), for home I have a cell phone (hubby has his own cell phone)and a palm pilot. For fun I have a digital camera. (the camcorder is just regular). I have a home PC with 2 printers and a scanner. (did i mention the GPS unit for hte boat)

I will definately be bringing my palm and laptop to Disney. Cell phone too! (cell phone is for personal use only! Don't let me boss have that number!)

I think I have too many toys,,,Nah, it's like saying you can go to Disney too many times!!!

And Norma, we have Verizon Wireless too! Is this the company you got that deal from? I don't think DH was impressed with what they had to offer.....I'll ask him again when he returns from his ice-cream run.

Steve, LOL! I am so envious of the technology advanced. All I have is my cell phone and I have trouble figuring that out! I just got a new Nokia 5100 series, and I'm amazed at all the functions! We keep talking about getting a lap top to take on trips, mostly so DH can keep in touch with the store. He's just not sure he wants to stay in touch! I guess I'm stuck with my trusty folder and piles of papers for now.

LOL Barb.....quite honestly, I prefer my trusty ole papers and folder. I'm not much for doing this sort of thing on the 'puter...I prefer to do my bills using a calculator and pen and paper too. I guess some things don't need to be changed.

DH is the techy guru in our house.

Oh lawdy, I forgot about the digital camera. Doubt that I can download the pictures onto the Palm. Oh well, I'll just have to bring enough memory chips (or whatever they are) and batteries to cover until I can download them ta home.

At least I got the home theater picture and sound synchronized so I can watch Madonna in High Definition tomorrow night.....but if you hear a loud explosion toward the center of the U.S...... that will be me blowing everything up in frustration.
