we aren’t staying on site and aren’t planning on magic bands.
My husband said we had to have our tickets on apple wallet?
he said he thinks you need a special way to scan your tickets?
I thought it was just on my magic experience app and we just scanned it. Do I need a special reader downloaded on my phone?

You're both kind of right.

From the Disney World app, click Menu (the three lines in the corner), then click MagicMobile, then click add.

Then when you go to the parks, open up the Apple Pay app (not the Disney World app), click on your pass, then touch your phone to Disney's card reader just like you'd do with a MagicBand.

If you have any old MagicBands from past trips, those will work too.

Or, if you don't like the idea of any of this, you can get a physical plastic ticket at the parks. But you'll have to wait in line at the ticket window.

I don’t think my phone has the right kind of reader. He has a newer phone, I have an iPhone 8. So if I don’t have the right kind of reader, I forgot what he called it…..I need a physical card or a magic band? That’s crazy this process not listed anywhere I’ve been looking. It’s our first ever trip and I had no idea.

No, you don't need any kind of special reader. DISNEY has the readers, you don't need a reader or a special, newer phone. All iPhones from iPhone 6 forward support Apple Pay/Wallet.

Could someone tell me how to put my credit card on the app? I have looked and looked and can’t find it anywhere. We will be mobile ordering. I also want to buy genie plus so I’ll need my card on the app.

If you were staying on site, you would do this when you do online check-in, but I believe you said you weren't staying on site.

The easiest way might be to go in and act like you were placing a mobile order as if you were in the parks right now. Make your way to the check-out screen and you should be given the option to add a payment method.

You should be able to add a payment method to your profile via the app or the website. On the app, touch the three lines in the bottom right corner and scroll down until you see My Profile.
