We were able to make reservations yesterday on our April 27 DREAM 5 night cruise from Ft. Lauderdale. To my astonishment, several cabanas were available (and still are). We grabbed one. The prices are outrageous ($935) but we'll be splitting between three parties, so it won't be too bad. Don't know what happened, but if you're booked on this cruse and act quickly you can get a veranda.

Our booking window just opened yesterday and I was super excited to grab a cabana (we are gold so historically they haven't been available by the time we book). I just checked again today and there are still over 20 available. I think the addition of mickey and Minnie cabanas has made it easier to get one? Or it could be the price lol I will be interested to see if people end up taking them or if they stay empty.

I am on the April 13 dream sailing. Silver booking window opened last night at midnight. As of 10 AM this morning, there are still 28 cabanas available on castaway. DCL recently raised the cabana prices as well as built quite a few more and I think they have oversaturated their market on castaway.

I actually think the same thing is happening with the ships where they have built too many of them too quickly and are struggling to fill them.

ETA- A family standard cabana on castaway is currently $935. My 4 night OGT Dream cruise is $1855 for 2ppl...

Yes, I think it's a combination of Disney doubling the number of cabanas on the island, the steep price increase, and the fact that the Dream doesn't have as many concierge cabins as the Wish-class ships. Congratulations. I look forward to seeing you on the beach!

Now the real question, how to pick between Sandcastle cabanas vs the new Mickey & Minnie ones when you have all this choice?

Kids who want the waterslides I would do Sandcastle (better beach too IMO) and for older kids or those who dont care about the slides and like the dedicated food area Mickey and Minnie

I asked my wife and mother in law if they wanted a Castaway Cabana for our sailing on the Treasure. I showed them a video of the cabana and they thought it was super cool. I told them it was just shy of $1,000 and they both said it's not needed for our family.

I was kind of surprised because we have obtained Cabanas at other resorts and we enjoy them. But I've never paid close to $1,000 for one either. The price is too high for me and my family.
