How does the admission ticketing system avoid such anomalies as:

* Enter the park at 12:10 AM for the midnight to 3 extra magic hours and it consumes another day of your pass.

* After attending extra magic hour past midnight at one park with a non-hopping pass, that afternoon you go to a different theme park and are denied entry.

Incidentally these anomalies would not occur if either:

(1) The Disney park day began around 5 AM, when no parks are or have been open, or,

(2) Park days are identified with an index number, for example 5367 for April 14, 2005, 5368 for April 15, 2005, etc. and the index numbers rather than actual dates are used for ticket usage purposes. Extra magic hours or park hours after midnight are part of the park day to which they were appended.

Seashore... you have too much time on your hands...
Funny thing is... now I feel the need to know!!!

and how does the "day" apply to resorts? Meaning if you check in Tuesday, but dont get there until after midnight, its technically Wed, but you get charged on "Tuesday" - right? So if you check in a 3 AM you are billed for that "night" (or Tuesday) I know if I check in at 6AM I'm charged for "Wednesday"...

again, just a ponderable!! :smooth:

Mahatma Gandhi, as some of us know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of callouses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis. I have actually checked in after midnight before and yes you are charged for the previous day. They don't consider it an "early" check in.

Well, the resorts days would be based on the published check-in times for each resort. Check in time is typically, what- 4 pm or so? So that's the time a resort "day" starts. And check out is typically around noonish. So, if you stay in your room past check out time, they can technically charge you for an additional day's stay.

Don't know when the day begins, but I have heard that Disney's "day" ends at 0200 the next morning.

They refer to it as 2500 and 2600 in scheduling and what not, not as 0100 and 0200.

That is why everyone's resort keys still work on your checkout day until PI closes, because the "day" hasn't clicked over yet.
