I'm hoping someone can help me. My husband and I are attending a wedding at the World the first week in April. Right now we're planning on staying at Pop Century, but we're not opposed to other options. We have been offered rooms with the wedding discount, but in comparing the rack rate on the Disney site with the discounted rate, there isn't a significant saving. I think it's less than $100. Should I book with the discount rate, wait and hold out for a code, or book at rack rate and hope for a code? I would love to do a package with dining (the cost of the dining plan is what we normally budget per day at Disney so it is a great deal for us) if I could get a good deal on a package as a whole.

Technically I have until a month before the wedding to book the wedding rate, but the bride offered a select few of us the room block before everyone else since the block is limited. I would like to let her know my plans ASAP so she can let other guests know. And if she gets tired of waiting for me and releases the block, I run the risk of the block filling up.

This is my first time planning for WDW, and my husband pretty much told me to let him know what days to get off work and he'll show up (he's not much of a planner). Quite frankly all these options are starting to give me a headache, so any help, advice or silly jokes would be much appreciated.

I'll try to help since no one responded.

It depends on what you want out of the wedding. Are you planning on remaining for a vacation? Do you care to be by others attending the wedding? As far as deals in April (peak season), they have been slim in the past, but you never know what Disney has up their sleeve.
I would not expect one though and would not want you to end up disapointed and paying more for a room and risking losing the block.

As I reread that - I guess I'm not much of a help. If you can swing a more expensive room without a pending code, go for it no doubt. But if not, you will still enjoy yourself at Pop. In the end, your not really in the room that much at all anyway - it's Disney afterall!

Good Luck and Best wishes to the new bride and groom!

Getting a discount is a toss of the coin. It just depends on the number of rooms available during the time you go. The only discount that is out now is the AAA discounts. I would probably book using the wedding discount and who knows you may even be able to apply another discount to your reservation if one comes out. (I dont know cancelation policies for the wedding block). Also can you add dining to the wedding reservation? The bottom line dont make yourself unhappy by worring to much about saving what might be a few dollars. Decide what is best for your family with the rates now and if something better comes out and you can change, then think of it as a little magic. Have fun!!!

I too would book the wedding discount - for sure. You then at the very least have a room at a decent rate with the possibility of finding a better rate if you want to continue to look. But, if you decide to relax, and there is something to be said for peace of mind without 'looking' anymore, then you've got an _OK_ rate and will have a blast!!

And have fun!!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes
