Welcome to 'Ohana's thread for recording miles and minutes. Our chat thread is here.

THE CHALLENGE (details subject to change)

What Counts in the Challenge
All exercise: running, walking, wogging, biking, swimming, skiing, cross-training, lifting weights, yoga, Pilates, chasing hotties…. If it raises your heart rate, it counts! If an activity can reasonably be calculated in terms of distance, keep track of both miles and hours/minutes. If not, it still counts for hours/minutes. A reminder: all events count as double mileage (not time)!

Reporting Miles and Hours/Minutes
This year’s challenge begins February 1st. We’re asking all members to keep track of their mileage and hours/minutes and report them to the thread or to captains regularly (weekly or monthly, your choice). We’ll publish the team’s monthly totals on the first post of the thread for our records and so that other teams can feel inspired (intimidated?) by our progress.

If any team member wants to publish their individual totals, place your miles and hours/minutes in your signature area. You can update those totals as often as you would like. Feel free to draw our attention to your many accomplishments, training strategies, any training challenges or injuries, questions, and of course upcoming events.

TWO WAYS TO REPORT NUMBERS
1) You can post them here to me, weekly or monthly. I'll add them to our team spreadsheet, which is available as a Google document.
2) You can post them yourself to the Google document if you so desire and have a Google account. The spreadsheet has spaces for daily input, so we can track our WOs in detail, which I really like. And we can all share duties on updating, see each other's accomplishments, and see our progress in detail over several months.

I don't have any preference for how any teammate reports their miles and minutes. I like the Google document, though, because it's easy to use and I can share it with all of you. We're very lucky that SuperGoof's Mike (laxdef69) created the spreadsheet and shared it with us. We all owe him a drink! :drinking1

GOOGLE SPREADSHEET INSTRUCTIONS

Looks like the new process is:

1) Make a google account at :

http://documents.google.com/support/...n&answer=47597

Updated: Apparently, this step is no longer necessary--any valid email address will do.

2) PM me your email address.

Document link:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=p4hr132_17TR0VaNdEUjydw&hl=en

3) Pick the month at the bottom of the document.

4) Scroll down to the correct day of the month.

5) Find your name in ORANGE. Enter the distance in miles.

6) In the column to the right of your name in YELLOW, enter the minutes it took you to do the miles, or if there were no miles (like in Yoga, Pilates, mowing the lawn etc) enter the minutes you moved.

7) Do not modify any cells in BLUE...they are formula driven, and calculate your monthly, team weekly, team monthly and team YTD.

8) Do not download and upload the spreadsheet.

Linda is still in boot from injury caused by Big River Staff the night after the marathon at Disney World(toes still paralyzed ).

Me: 41.5 miles and 9.25 hrs

Keep up the good work team!

For the month of Feb:

42 miles
509 minutes (mostly running with a bit of yoga thrown in for fun :upsidedow )

I will look into the google spreadsheet thing, but right now all of those instructions are making my head hurt. Maybe when I have some quiet time I can figure it out, but quiet time in my house is hard to come by...

Sorry, guys, I've been a slug since the Sarasota half. At least I got double mileage for the race!

Miles: 61.03
Minutes: 483.75 min

Hey Cousins!

The month of February, in review:

Dennis -- 55 miles/895 minutes

Maria -- 58.558 miles/980 minutes

Go Team Ohana!
Maria

Hi Debra,

I wanted to post my own and make things easier for you, but the spreadsheet won't accept my data. (I am a registered user) If you can figure out why, I'd be happy to do it myself and save you some time here and there.
In any event, my totals for February are 49 miles; 15:15 time. I know I'm a slacker and if it weren't for XT I'd have pretty much nothing at all. Guess I need a whipping. :scared1:

Jeanne (and others),

Apparently, you need to PM me your email addresses so I can permit access. I thought I'd set it up differently, but I'm not the brightest penny to come off the presses. :confused3 :rotfl2:

I'll enter your numbers for now, Jeanne, and you can take care of March if you'd like.

Seems like I'm the lightweight this month - I've been putting in too many hours building sets and not enough hours pounding the pavement....

Corinna's totals for February
33.13 miles
803 min

Month of February totals:

Miles: 48.3
Minutes: 482

This was a mix of run/walk, biking, elliptical and weights.

For the month of February, I had:

27 hours, 54 minutes (or 1674 minutes total)
9.3 miles

According to my HR monitor, my formal exercise for the month totalled 15,547 calories.

Hey Team Ohana Just your lost little "Duckie" here wanting to congratulate you all on a fabulous February! I don't know if everyone has posted yet or not but having almost 1100 miles is great!! That kind of average will give you more than 12,000 miles for the year! Plus, you did that during one of the coldest months of the competition. Keep it up gang!! (And I know you will!)

To all of my Princesses I know there are some that are getting ready to head down to WDW for the race this weekend. I want you all to have fun, be safe and know that I am cheering for all of you!!

Here's to an incredible March!:cheer2: :grouphug:
Bryan

Better late than never:

miles: 78

time: 23.75 hours
you'd think I could have managed an extra 15 min to make it a full 24 hours..... :lmao:

March activity:

94.6 miles, 26:25 hours:min

That includes double mileage for the Princess half. It looks like alot, but most of it was on the spin bike. I'll try to post it myself and make things easier for Deb. If it works the same as last year, I may have to split it up because the program couldn't handle more than 24 hours for a single entry.

Just wanted to report that you can put it all in one space this year.......but you have to convert it to minutes! I had 1,585 minutes for the month. Our cummulative totals are going to be HUGE....what happened to the built-in calculator that converted minutes to decimal hours?

Here are our stats --

Dennis: 75.5 M, 1,295 minutes

Maria: 117.96 M, 1,298 minutes

Like Jeanne, I had a lot of bike miles.

Go Team Ohana!
Maria :upsidedow

Updated to here, before I go out for a run!

Jeanne: The conversion into hours: minutes: seconds is on the monthly team total page (first page). Check it out! Mike (Laxdef69) created and shared his spreadsheet with us, and other teams, and the format is quite a bit different than last year's, I think.

So far, we're at 998 miles and counting, and 189:03 and counting, with more than 1/2 our cousins yet to report in! :cheer2:
