We had planned this day for a rest day. We slept in until around 8:30am. We wanted DD to rest as much as possible, so we took our time getting ready for the day and didn't plan to venture out until afternoon. DH ran to OPR to get some milk and other supplies for us to eat breakfast in our room the rest of our mornings here. We ate around 10 am and leisurely went about getting ready to go swimming. In the meantime, "Dumbo" had come on Toon Disney, so we stayed to see the end of it. :D

We left our room just after noon, and again, despite a late breakfast, we were already up for lunch, so we stopped in at Old Port Royale. We all got pasta- DD had kids penne marinara (her portion was enough for an adult!), I had penne alfredo with chicken, and DH had penne marinara (and wished he'd gotten the kids serving- his was huge). While we were eating it started raining and thundering and we noticed the pool was cleared out of people, so took our time. While finishing up, a group of CM's came by delivering "Magical Moments"- has anyone had this happen to them? It was very cute. They were giving out pirate swords made from balloons, eye patches and Mickey stickers. Each child also got a certificate commemorating their "Magical Moment". DD has become interested in pirates lately, so she just loved this. We went browsing in the OPR gifts shops for a while next. I picked up a gift for a friend's baby, some postcards, and a cute long-sleeved Tshirt for myself.

By this time, the rain had stopped, so we headed out to the pool (the main theme pool; we never got a chance to explore our building's pool). We really enjoyed our time out at the pool. We were there for almost 3 hours. It was fairly warm out, not too hot, but the cool water felt very good and refreshing, almost relaxing. I particularly liked the waterfall area and, of course, we enjoyed the water slide. Around 4:30, it started to get stormy. We figured we needed to start getting ready for the evening anyway, so we headed back to the room- just in time to avoid downpours.

We had been planning to go to the campfire singalong at Fort Wilderness, but debated whether to take a chance on the weather. The forecast predicted a high chance of thunderstorms through the evening, so we decided to do something different. I was disappointed- this was one of the things I was really looking forward to for DD- but I guess that is something we can plan to do for sure next time. Instead, we decided to head over to the Lake Buena Vista area for dinner. We ate at TGI Fridays there, one of our favorite haunts in 'real life'. We had a fairly good meal there. DD got the kids mac & cheese. I ordered the chicken tenders entrée and DH a steak. Both of our meals were good, but I had decided I wasn't as much in the mood for chicken tenders by the time my meal came, so I ate more of our potato skins appetizer than I did my chicken. :D By the time we were done with dinner, it had stopped raining (figures!! Just in time for the campfire, as it was just after 7pm. Oh well). There was a Pirates Cove mini golf right next to TGI Fridays, so we decided to do that.

The golf course was really neat, but unfortunately, the outing was marred by DD's crankiness. We probably should have just gone back to CBR after dinner. I'm sure she was tired, but she really wanted to play mini golf. She was cranky and downright 'bratty' while we were trying to play, so much so that around hole 8, we started heading for the exit. But, we got detoured when DH dropped and lost his golf ball. While we were searching for the ball, DD got herself calmed down and asked if we could please stay and play more golf, so we gave in and stayed. After this point, we all had a lot of fun. There were some very neat and creative holes, including one involving a huge hill that you hit your ball down (DD loved this). After finishing mini golf, it was back to the resort and to bed (DD was asleep by 9pm, not too much later than her usual bedtime. :cool1: ).

Great report ~ Thanx for sharing.
