Team Goddess - Volume 11. Rocking 2012 Goddess Style!

I had this long post with lots of quotes and everything then safari crashed and I lost it. It's time for me to get ready to head off to work now so I'll just good morning everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your weekends.

Quick post/update since everything I try to post keeps getting lost in the bowels of the internet (or you'll have a spam post with the almost exact same thing written over and over again).

My workplace drama has somewhat righted itself. The woman who was my previous boss that has been causing a lot of grief in my life was let go this afternoon. I am sad that she had to lose her job since she really was a cool person until she went off the deep end, but the relief of knowing that it's one less frustration I have to deal with in the workplace is such a weight off my chest. The interesting part is that they were actually concerned enough that my old boss would go after me or something, that I needed supervision to stay safe. I get they're just covering their own *****, but.. wow.

In other awesome news, I was invited to be part of a coworker's team at Bark and Bowl. http://www.barkandbowl.com/ It's a night out bowling where you collect pledges and the money benefits the National Canine Cancer Foundation. I'm so excited. Kimberley-- have you seen this? It seems like it would be right up your alley. I'm not sure where our team is as far as whether we need people, but if so I'll let you know if you're interested :)

And Goofy training has officially started. I'm trying to keep a training log/blog that will eventually be in my signature in case anyone is interested, but it's helping me with accountability. My usual motivators live back up in Boston, so it's easy to skip out on training runs as I've found so far. When I get a few more posts, I'll start so share. Now it's boring. But I strung together a 5k training plan, a 9 mile training plan, and then a Goofy plan just so I can get used to running outside in thick air and the heat. I figure if I get used to it now, by the time I'm hitting the big miles in July, August, and September, it won't feel as daunting. Although truth be told, looking out on the next nine or so months of my life and seeing a planned training schedule is kind of intimidating.

Hey ladies. So I guess I'm tapering for Tough Mudder. I say I guess because I did go to boot camp twice this week, all I've really done is scale back my runs. I've also spent the week in constant anticipation, I feel like I just can't wait for it to be here. I think I've been jittery all week!

I think it's a combination of the race and then I'm spending the week after the race up in Vermont. Due to both of us having things going on I haven't seen Brian in about three weeks now so I'm also excited to have some time to spend together. It's one of the negatives about living so far away from each other, when things get busy we can't just pop over for a visit but I like to think it makes us appreciate our time together more. (Probably doing lots more fishing on Lisa's lake.)

Rhi- I started blogging when I came back from my ankle injury because I sometimes need to write out my thoughts. I'm not so regular about when I post but it's nice to have a place to put all those thoughts and to be able to go back and look at them.

How is everyone else's weeks going?

You know, it just dawned on me that you're doing the same Mudder that several of my friends are doing. If I can figure out what they're wearing since things like "two husband and wife teams" or "a team of two girls in tutus who are barely 5 feet tall" might be nondescript :) I know your location says that you're north of Boston, but I never made that connection.

Anyhow, good luck with your Mudder if I don't get a chance to check in between now and then!

It's funny because the only people I knew who were doing it dropped out but people keep telling me they know someone doing it. We're just going to watch Saturday and my boyfriend and I are in the Sunday 10 am heat. I'm wearing an orange and black tutu with orange leg warmers. My boyfriend will be wearing a suit with an orange tie. I think as a couple we'd be pretty hard to miss!

Ah, Monday. The start of a new week. Here's to a good one for all of us ::yes::

I'm on day 2 of tracking. I can find a zillion reasons NOT to track. Seriously - I spend more time avoiding it than it would take if I just DID it! ;) But for me, it's the only way to make this happen.

Honestly girlfriend, it's not THAT bad! Since most people eat basically the same stuff the majority of the time, once you have the points figured out, they're in there and all you have to do is click on them. And if it's any help, it's the ONLY thing that's ever worked for me. 13 down, 14 to go:cool1:...

Rhi-I just went to the website and looked it up. That is AWESOME:yay::yay:!!! I just may try and convince the DH to drive up that night to watch. Lake Worth is only about 45 minutes away so the drive is no big deal. This hits close to home as I had to let my second girl go thanks to a grapefruit sized tumor that developed on her hip. What a GREAT cause!!:cool1:

Hi! I have been reading for ages, just not responding. I know, I know...huge loser. But I just have so much going on.

Short updates--weight loss is going great. Feeling really good. Have dropped a bunch, but still have that last blasted 15 pounds to go. Grrr. Whatever.

We leave for Europe in 9 days. So yeah, things are pretty crazy here right now.

Lisa--I know you want the itinerary, so here it is: Dublin - Stockholm - Copenhagen - Paris - Zurich.

And YES, we are doing Disneyland Resort Paris! SO SO excited for it all. I will post plenty of pics--I promise!

Kids--all good, all busy. Kelly finished up an incredible gymnastics season--named the Regional Champion for her division as well as one State Champion title. Riley is in the middle of LAX season. Cammie is on 2 soccer teams plus softball. So--we continue to run around like crazy, but in a good way.

xoxox--E.

SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: '

And jealous! :3dglasses

Of course I wanted the itinerary. Fine work. I wish I could follow it all. Every moment like a stalking weirdo.

So happy for you all.

Ronda - hope all is well with you!

Kelly - Olympics are coming to your neck of the woods. Are you going to try to see any of it? Or avoid like the plague

Coming on to say the same thing.

Ronda - hope things are well.

MK Kelly! Can't even tell you how excited I am about the Olympics. Diamond Jubilee. :rolleyes1 Well, not as much. But your lovely country must be filled with anticipation, joy and the normal back and forth positive/negative banter. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Rhianna. Happy for you that things have worked themselves out. Wow. I don't know what to say but wow. You must have been shocked.

As for the training - :thumbsup2

Kimberley. You're preaching to the converted and VERY successful here. Not talking about me - I don't and won't track - but Nancy has already reached her goal through WW and has kept the majority of her weight off for years. So she has NADA to figure out re: tracking. She is merely taking care of some unwanted pounds that are nothing in the terms of her journey and success.

Hi Friends!

Checking in here - catching up! Things are very very time consuming in my off line life - my mom is struggling health-wise, my daughter is making her communion this weekend, I applied to grad school (!) but I wanted to pop in and say hi.

I do want to leave a gentle reminder to make sure our tone is always positive and supportive - we all get enough judgment from our inner voice, we don't need it from each other. The beauty of this group is true acceptance and support and let's focus on that.

Also, there is a pot stirring icon! SO HI Lar Ious! :stir:

Checking in after a very long time. I've stayed connected through that wonderful social media invention. What I love about this thread is the acceptance and support received no matter how we come and go (we might have our demons that we are fighting, but somebody will always have our back to boost us up). It is no secret that life has been truly crazy for many of us and it is wonderful when we can talk and air what we need (even if it is a rant or stomp of the foot lol). This is what has made many of us friends over the years.

For now, I am simply maintaining. Once I begin traveling for work, I will go back on the bandwagon. I hope to check back in sooner rather than later. :) Off to catch up on the thread.

Hi Jo! Hi Amiee!

Liz - Grad school. Loving it. I so want details. So happy that your mother will be with you all this weekend.

And

TOUGH MUDDER TIME!!! CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR MEGAN!

And

PLAYOFFS BABY!!! And not those annoying men with sticks. ;)

And speaking of which hockey girls - I just read a psychic saying that we'd see an NHL type league for women soon - but this is the same lovely who just said a person would fall off the CN Tower this year. :scared1:

Cross off walking EDGEWALK any time soon (people walk outside around the viewing/restaurant area). Laughing Nancy - so funny - I would love to see your face - hmmm skydiving or that?

Don't taunt me Kelly. Don't taunt me.

Here I am!! Still alive :rotfl2:

I am so SO excited for the Olympics...but will be avoiding London like the plague! Luckily, there are plenty of events near to me, so I will get the atmosphere, but tickets are like gold dust!

Now the Jubilee - that I AM excited for! Very excited, and not just for the two extra days off work that it gives up (God bless the Queen :rotfl2:)

It is very patriotic here - people planning Olympics parties, Jubilee parties, street parties - you name it and I think there's a party for it! Me, I'll be doing pretty much the same as I did for the Royal Wedding - day with the girls, bucks fizz, cream tea's and smoked salmon whilst wearing a fancy dress...and watching it on the TV! :lmao:

Liz. Word. (Pretty sure I used it right!)
I've been following your updates on FB and just wanted to say :grouphug:. You are one of the strongest people I know, with what seems like an amazing network of wonderful family and friends around you :grouphug:

I looked at this website - I would so do the edgewalk, even though I would probably cry all the way round! :rotfl2:

So, work is still crazy - actually really REALLY crazy. However, as I need to get on the wagon fast (7lb above goal, bad times), I can work this in my favour! I barely have time to leave my desk so I have no excuse for bad food choices as I will be taking my food with me every day, no excuses!

Exercise - back into it. In fact, this morning I made myself a new playlist for my Ipod. DH took one look at it, laughed and said 'How much running will you be able to do whilst you are belting out songs?'. Yeah, I've pretty much picked a list of songs that I can't help singing along to. Loudly. :lmao:

EVERYONE - Hi!!! :wave2:

Quick post to say Tough Mudder rocked. I loved it, I'm addicted. Brian said this is the most proud he's been of me. He was very impressed. Oh an my tutu stayed on the whole time.

Lisa I have lots of stories for you. There's one picture on facebook and more to come when we get the camera we carried developed.

Yay!!!!

My love. My beloved. The love of my life. MY BELOVED BARON DAVIS. :flower3:

Well he popped his knee cap right off today and none of you care. NONE OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my poor Baron. I'll be back to catch up - engrossed with Megan's boys right now.

Have so many questions for you - about the Jubilee - the Olympics and about that woman's book that is nasty about the Queen Mother and how that is playing there. In no particular order but I have to run.

Are you doing WW in person or online Kelly?

HI Kelly.

I am far far from the wagon right now myself

Let it go and just do it Jo. Did you try my two moves - three minute cardio hour that I left you?

Yeah Megan!!!! :cheer2:

Enjoy your holiday.

Think they'd let washed up 30-something retired players in?

And sad confession: I had to google Baron Davis.

Ah, the book. The author has been named 'Lady Poison Pen' by the press - we are very civilised whilst insulting people don't you know! :rotfl2:

I will never buy the book, some of the claims seem ridiculous to me - that the Queen Mother's real mother was the cook (she believes this is true because the Queen Mother didn't look 'aristocratic'), also that the Queen and Princess Margaret were conceived 'artificially' because the Queen Mother had no interest in...well you know! In one way we don't take kindly to stories about our Royal Family, but on the other hand people can't get enough of them.

:lmao:

I'm doing WW online at the minute, but I think I need to get back to going to the meetings - the fear of a face to face weigh in spurs me on! :rotfl2:

I'll be back but for now:

GET OFF MY FRIGGIN' LAKE MEGAN AND GIVE ME A TOUGH MUDDER REPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please. :lmao:
