Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hi! :goodvibes Nothing really going on here... Just dance, swimming and livin' life. The kids are going to my MIL's Monday-Friday next week, so I guess Kirt wanted to get busy renovating the bathroom because he's upstairs smashing tiles... It'll be nice to have done and like a good little Focker, I took before pics. :thumbsup2

So, I'm guessing that's where the weekend and most of next week will be spent. :headache: It'll look so nice, though. I'm very excited! :yay:

What's everyone else up to this weekend? popcorn::

Evening all !! Long day but a good one !! Apart from breaking up a fight at work this evening it has been a quiet day !! I am trying to plan a Dis Meet in DC next month and the plans seem to going well !! I am excited for the Meet and a day sightseeing in DC!!!

Well I wuz last to post last night and first this morning !!Do I win a PRIZE!!!:lmao:

This morning started at 6 am with a call off GRRRRRR!!:sad2:So once awake I couldn't get back to sleep:sad2:It was easy enuff to fill but has left me lacking in sleep again !!:headache:

I am palnning a short day today as I have worked extra during the week and as I get no O/T i am not working a full shift !!:woohoo:

I am working on my DC Dis meet trip still , things are coming together :worship::banana:

Anyone have any special plans today ???:confused3

Aww I'm sure the lower the better, ask him how much he loves the puppy and then you'll find out as I'm sure he loves him the most :rotfl:
Probably. remember Tau is the one who thinks he is a puppy. So he thinks Krypto is his brother. He found a picture of a puppy in a magazine and brought it to me and asked if that was him. ??
I'm playing again tomorrow but my box of hair goodies may come tomorrow too so fingers crossed I don't miss it as I can't wait to see what I get :goodvibes
ooo I love getting stuff popcorn::

Hide the flip flops! Bear has eaten at least 10 pair!
:lmao:I haven't seen TS3 yet--may catch it in 3D this weekend.
We wanted to see "the grown ups " this week--it was funny! :thumbsup2
we want to see that too!

And we came to the Louvre on the "back" side via the metro so took a while to get oriented! We always wanted to walk the wrong way when coming out of the metro station!
:rotfl:

I totally understand this. My mother reads everything when we go to museums, OUT LOUD. My grandkids could care less and I keep telling her I can read. SHe still does it. :confused3
are we sisters? My mom does this too! I am usually one step ahead of her and have already read and looked at whatever it is that she is looking at now. Then she calls me back just so she can read it to me. "Mom, I know what it says because I just read it"

"Oh, I know, I just didn't know if you read the whole thing"
:headache:

I understand hot. I took my granddaughter to her swim lessons today and they a friend said that it was so hot on the 4th that a couple of people actually had heat exhaustion - at a swimming pool. I won't go when it gets this hot.
My Chi got heat exhaustion a few weeks back at six flags.

Evening all. I went down to the Jersey shore yesterday and had a great day. The kids had a ball on the beach and we even got to see some dolphins. The hotel my daughter stayed at had grills so we cooked dinner there and it was great eating there. Saved me a ton of money. We let the kids play a few games on the boards but it was really just a relaxing day. The oonly bad thing is it's a 2 1/2 hour drive each way and hat drive home seems like it takes forever. Thankfully I have a radio and stop for coffee to keep me awake.

I had a free day from the kids so I got a pedicure. I have a wedding tomorrow, a 50th anniversary with a vow renewal saturday and then my anniversary on sunday. I figured my feet should look nice since I'll be in sandals alot this weekend. I can't wait to see the bride tomorrow. She has a giant tattoo across her back and I can't wait to see how that looks in a wedding gown. :scared1:

Oh well I hope you all have a good evening.
Wished we lived 2.5 hours from a beach. Our closest one is about 5 hours away. Not really doable for a day drive.

Will you send pics of the tatooed bride?

Jo will you please assit me with the 4th of July !!!! No Brits don't make a holiday of it !!!:rotfl2:But it is still on the calendar!!!:lmao:

Now how do you all plan to celebrate November 5th!!!!????:confused3:lmao:

American's don't have a November 5th :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi girls!

We got back from the "world" this morning. I'm exhausted, but we had a great time. Sad to be home.

I'll try to catch up later... I have some laundry to do and get my pics uploaded. I won't be doing a TR this time, but I'll share pics here for you. :thumbsup2
Welcome back. Hope you had a great time!

The kids are going to my MIL's Monday-Friday next week, so I guess Kirt wanted to get busy

So, I'm guessing that's where the weekend and most of next week will be spent. :headache: It'll look so nice, though. I'm very excited! :yay:

Hi Rosie!!

++++++++++++++
Morning Friends
I am starting to get all stressed about our coming up trip. I learned that three other families from school are going the same week. Everyone keeps saying 'we should try to plan something together' but no one wants to tell me exactly what they want to do or how much money they want to spend. Do they know how difficult it is to reserve a table for 24 people?

Then my mom is stressing me out because she doesn't want to rent an ECV and she can't keep up with us otherwise.

Oh and my MIL wants a place with a kitchen. So we were thinking of trading our 2 rooms at POR and renting DVC points for a treehouse or a 2br at SSR. the lady I am renting points from said she found something for the first part of our trip and the last part of our trip but there is one night right in the middle where no rooms are available through DVC. So we are waitlisted. Which I guess is better than being blacklisted.

My DH wants a more relaxed trip and wants to sleep in. I don't know how to NOT do rope drop.

Other than fretting over that I don't really have anything planned for this weekend. The kids want to go swimming so I may go to my brother's house or the creek.

Have a good week Fockers.

Very nice about the win. Did you go to Chester? I'd love to go once but I really am not thrilled with PARX.

We did go to Chester. It was great! I would defintely go back:thumbsup2

Te drive is the onlyreason we don't do more day trips!

I was gonna go somewhere else with this but Debra beat me to it:rotfl2: Can't wat to see the pictures!

Right, we skip from the 4th to the 6th:lmao:

Hey all. The outdoor movie birthday party was postponed (to tomorrow) due to torrential rain. Poor kid was so upset and Jimmy was too becasue he hasn't seen Tyler "in a really, really, really looooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time" (RE: Last week):lmao:. Me and TYlers mom felt so bad that the kids were so upset we tok them to see Despicable Me. Let me just say HYSTERICAL! Loved it! Two thumbs up:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Take your kids to see it!

Today we are just hanging around becasue it is STILL raining and we have the big family dinner tonight with my parents. The reservations are for 6:30, but since it is in Jersey we will leave about 5:30 to get there.

Tomorrow night is the birthday party do over, sobetween today and tomorrow I need to get my laundry done.

Hope you all are having a great weekend. I'm sure I will check back later:goodvibes

Haha! :lmao: Dirty minds~ I love them!! :rotfl: I'll probably have to get busy WITH Kirt to thank him for the new bathroom! LOL

I booked ME and ASM last night. I wanted POP, but the price at POP went up through Expedia and Hotels.com. So, Music it is... Which is fine sicne that's where we honeymooned almost 15 years ago. :lovestruc I only paid $57 a night! :woohoo:

So, I still need to buy MNSSHP tix and donate money to the FL Children's hospital, then I'll be set. :yay:

Mel's "not planning until she gets back from her beach trip", so I'm just chilling on the party tix. Z is going to be at Epcot for F&WF one day, so I'm sure we'll go then too. Then I think we'll do to DHS one day. :cheer2:

Hi girls!

Welcome home.

Anyone have any special plans today ???:confused3

I have to go to my BIL and SIL's 50th anniversary party today. Then I get a nice quiet evening at home while Jim goes to the Phillies gamne tonight. He got really great box seats. I told him that he should take our grandson who loves the Phillies. We should be able to get tickets again.

are we sisters? My mom does this too! I am usually one step ahead of her and have already read and looked at whatever it is that she is looking at now. Then she calls me back just so she can read it to me. "Mom, I know what it says because I just read it"

Then my mom is stressing me out because she doesn't want to rent an ECV and she can't keep up with us otherwise.

Have a good week Fockers.

Maybe we are. My mom was reading all the things about Stave Church and the Tomb Warriors when we were in Disney. I sped away pretending I didn't know her. :lmao:

I love being that close to the beach. :cool1: It is my second favorite "happy place".

I only got one decent shot of the tattoo but will post it this weekend when i get a chance.

I know how your mom feels. I put off renting an ECV until the week before we leave just because I keep thinking I can do the walking. My DD's both looked at me after the boardwalk and told me to rent one now for next August when we are all going. They were ready to kick the babies out of the stroller and put me in it because I was in so much pain. That would have been an interesting sight. :lmao:

+++++++++++++
Morning everyone.

The wedding was nice but the bride and groom disappeared from the reception so much that people were beginning to talk. :rotfl2: My grandson was so handsome in his tux. We really did have a good time.

As I said today is my in-laws 50th anniversary party and tomorrow is my anniversary so I am being bombarded with party's this weekend. As soon a I get a chance to upload my pics I'll post a few from the wedding.

Have a good day all.

Sounds like everyone is having nice weekends! Janet, good news about the movie. :thumbsup2

My dad totally shocked me and wanted to "keep on going" once we hit Columbus, OH at 10:30 p.m., so we pulled into their house at about 2:30 local time a.m. Friday. Slept for about 5 hours, then got the day going - then crashed for a 3 hour nap in the afternoon yesterday! :lmao:

We had pizza and ice cream with my aunt and uncle (and Dr. Belle!) last night, after seeing my grandma (Mom thought she "looked good today" but if that's good... Things aren't looking great there. :sad1:) then breakfast with my aunt & uncle again this morning before they return to MO.

MIL is probably going to get here in a couple of hours to spend the night - she left her Chicago-suburban home around noon, so it'll be 3-3 1/2 hours before she gets here.

The reunion/get together is at 6:00. We CAN bring kids, but I'm still trying to figure out if I want to. If I do, I'll need to bring the grandmas, but it sounds like a lot of people are leaving kids at home and I don't want them bored. :confused3 It's at a Dave & Buster's type bar/arcade/restaurant deal, so they'd have stuff to do, but...

I took a run before lunch. At some point, I of course need to shower, but I'm trying to decide if I want to get rid of my grey hair before tonight. I bought a box before leaving home, but didn't get to it with all the tennis. ;) I didn't lose my 10 pounds, so maybe I should at least not be grey. :rotfl:

The kids dragged my mom to the park twice yesterday, and are walking everywhere. As "rural" as we are in NH, you can't walk to anything. I think they're really enjoying being able to actually get somewhere by walking - the restaurant, the post office, the park... ;)

Anyway, I hope you continue to have a good Saturday! I'd say that I'll post pictures, but you probably don't care about my high school friends, so... :rotfl2:

Talk to you later! The internet is working well for me here (not always the case) and so I've been able to keep up more than I anticipated! Happy Saturday! :grouphug:

Hey Fockers, how is everyone!

The heat wave has finally lessened here, but still muggy out. Might as well be in Florida!

TE - love the Europe TR!

I'm going to get the next installment of mine up in a few minutes!

Day 6 and we had either an option trip to the Uffizi gallery or free time until 3pm. The back seat girls decided to go off on our own and explore Florence. I think we walked 5 miles if not more. We headed towards the Pontevecchio (covered bridge) and went past that to a local flea market (pretty much the same as we have here). We then went back to the Pontevecchio and crossed over. The Pontevecchio is all jewelry stores now, so we window shopped and drooled.

ry%3D400

Once on the other side of the river we did some more shopping. I got a great bag for work, I love it.

ry%3D400

Soon it was time for lunch and we found this great place in a courtyard surrounded by little artist studios. The food was deee-licious.

ry%3D400

We knew the bus for Pisa was leaving the hotel at 3 and we all wanted time to freshen up (or as the tour director said, time for some restoration). So after lunch we made our way back to the hotel.

At 3 we left for Pisa and it was a longer ride than I think we expected. Some of us dozed off.

Finally we arrived in Pisa and parked in the biggest bus parking lot I have ever seen!

Then we had a very luxurious tram waiting to take us to the Tower itself.

ry%3D400

Yes, it is a McDonald's choo choo train:confused:

When we got off the tram we had to walk through a bunch of gypsy vendors, it felt like the lambs being led to slaughter. Finally we saw the tower and while I was glad to see it, I was ready to leave. There is NOTHING else here.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

With everyone back at the tram stop we headed back to the bus and off to dinner at a winery. The food was ok, nothing to write home about but I heard the wine was great. I sipped some but not a wine connoisseur so I will take the others word for it.

Again, I think I fell into bed exhausted!

Just home from work !!!Judy has a bunch of people over for a cook out !! She put up the Pool she got on Craigslist and the kids and adults are enjoying the Pool !!! Me I'm upstairs in my a/c and relaxing !! I have afeeling it's gonna be a long night !! One of the guys a friend of Kyle's uncle is highly intoxicated but nice as can be !! He's done the dishes and offered to fix things around the house !!! Wonder when he sobers up if he'll remember !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I was gonna go somewhere else with this but Debra beat me to it:rotfl2: Can't wat to see the pictures!
SORRY

I wouldn't worry about them. Do what you guys want to do. I take it these are people that have never been before? They will learn quickly
Some have been before, but none are OCD about planning like a-hem some of us are.

The outdoor movie birthday party sounds like a great idea. I will have to remember that next year for Omicron.

So, I still need to buy MNSSHP tix and donate money to the FL Children's hospital, then I'll be set. :yay:
Is that a special offer or something I don't know about?? We are not sure if we can do MNSSHP because of funds but if I could find a deal .... :rolleyes1

He's done the dishes and offered to fix things around the house !!! Wonder when he sobers up if he'll remember !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi Mo! Great pics. We were just talking about a trip to Europe instead of Disney next year.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Not much going on today. Church then home to clean.

Morning Fockers!

~sigh~ Well, the vacation is nearly over. I could really use about 3 more weeks.

WDW was terrific, as always! But it turns out 10 days is more than enough for us; Leo and I were ready to go home. ;) Not at all ready to leave our friends, though. :sad1:

I confess - I haven't had time to catch up; my final days of vacation have included laundry, grouting, grocery shopping and a couple movies. What happened to lounging poolside for days at a time?!

Hope everyone's doing well! :grouphug:

Welcome home T and V!

Mo---wow---you saw the Leaning tower! I have one of those on my farmville! Can you go up in it??

Nice bag too! Italian! Could you speak any Italian?

So you traveled across Italy in the choo choo train??! :lmao:

Haha! :lmao: Dirty minds~ I love them!! :rotfl:

Isn't that always the case!

We are always ready after a week....seems to be just enough!

Not at all ready to leave our friends, though.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Happy Sunday everyone. Welcome back V and T:goodvibes Jim is out doing the grocery shopping and I am doing laundry:laundy: The movie birthday party that got rained out is tonight, so we are just hanging out today until it is time to leave for that. Jimmy has 2 doctor's appointments tomorrow, but otherwise it is going to be a very quiet week for us.:thumbsup2

I am watching airfares to Orlando. If I can get a decent price I will be heading down to see my parents November 10th - 14th. That is veteran's day weekend...so I am sure it will be crowded, but my only plan is to see Rick Springfield at Epcot and hopefully meet up with Angela! Angela, are you going to be around then? Otherwise it is more of a trip to visit my parents!:thumbsup2

Hope you all have a good Sunday:goodvibes

The kids are going to my MIL's Monday-Friday next week, so I guess Kirt wanted to get busy renovating the bathroom because he's upstairs smashing tiles...
Enjoy........... whatever you do :rotfl2:

Daran is leaving for England this Saturday---he flies nonstop from Charlotte to LGW--business class of course! sigh! He may never fly with us commoners again! ;)

I found a Marriott that says it's near Leeds castle (looks south of London)--is that close to you? If so, maybe I'll book it for next year!
He's staying at a Marriott in downtown London.

It's not as hot here today but I'm still not doing too much!
Daran is touching up paint in BA's room so I went and bought her new curtains and a "flokati" rug--purple of course!

Ab finally has a day off today--she is working at Walmart this summer! I was excited about the employee discount, but she has to be there 90 days...

Jo - too many bags, but I kinda wish I had gotten one more....

TE - yes got all the way to Pisa to ride in a Choo Choo train, it was bizarre. Even more so there was music playing and a sign that if you enjoyed it, it was your tram driver singing and you could buy the CD for 10 Euro:headache:

The re-org at work is ongoing, hopefully things will be in place soon and I will have a lighter work load. I am already in need of my next vacation, which fortunately for me is September 8th!

I can't believe another weekend is over:mad:

After the shopping trip, we headed back to the Hilton!

We have dinner reservations at 9 pm tonight at Chez Francis! :cool1:
It's a nice cafe on a cute corner near the Eiffel! I updated my Facebook status during this meal cause I thought it was really cool to be eating dinner near the tower! :thumbsup2

Here we are getting ready to leave for the restaurant:

ry%3D400

View from outside table:

ry%3D400

Daran and Beth Ann:
ry%3D400

and me and Abby!
ry%3D400

This time, our waiter spoke a few words of English! But the dang menu was still in French.

Things I learned:
  1. entree=appetizer
  2. plat=entree
  3. toilette=restroom down curvy stairs

  4. Carpaccio of Beef= raw meat that Beth Ann could not eat

  5. Les Desserts=desserts!! Now this I understand!
  6. eau= water...........but then you gotta say "still" or they give you carbonated water....seriously....who wants that?? And still with no ice! But it comes in large glass bottles and you drink it in crystal so it's pretty cool! :snooty:

And then......<<drum roll please>>.......at exactly 10 pm.......the Eiffel tower lights up and starts twinkling!!! And of course, I get so excited that my picture turns out blurry! But these are some "later on" shots:

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

It was really lovely to see it night!! So much so that we decided to go see the Arc de Triomphe at night too!!

Back on the metro.........a group of young men have their faces painted and are singing and beating on drums...:confused3 One comes up to me so I dance some with him! :thumbsup2 More happy people get on the train--it's a party but I don't know what we are happy about!

Then we get off at the Arc.....OMG........there's a parade of cars honking and people cheering all around it! Flags flying!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Apparently Algeria (which really is a country in Northern Africa! Who knew??!) has beat someone else in the World Cup! Yeah! (Fast forward--the US beats them later---good thing we weren't there then!)

We later learned that since the Arc de Triomphe was built to celebrate Napoleon's victories, it is often used as a place to celebrate French (or Algerian!) ones! :teacher:They said it would be NUTS there when the French won a game....never happened whilst we were there.....

Ok---I've been meaning to find out where Algeria is since I got back--and Daran was right---it IS a country in Northern Africa! Everyone post if you already knew that and make me feel really stupid! But why were they celebrating in France???:confused3

map_of_africa.jpg

So back to the hotel....and rise and shine for Bateaux Marches boat tour on the Seine and then to Versaille! :cool1:
