Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hiya Fockers!

I avoided working the crazy weekend because I have been nasty sick since Turkey day. It went from a head cold to a throat thing to a chest cold now. I tried working Sunday and lasted a few hours and asked to be sent home where I passed out till the next day. I called out today to go to the Dr, and I now have an antibiotic. I am working tomorrow 9:30-5 and going to do some holiday decorating shopping on the way home if i'm up to it. KC is getting sick too, it a vicious cycle.

I am really not ready for it to be December yet! And the trip to New Orleans is on, Pants got the tickets last week and we head out the 10th thru the 13th! I'm excited and stressed at the same time. I need to have my whole month in order so I dont forget anything because we took a break in the middle.

We arent putting up the tree this year, just decorations (hence the shopping for more stuff) because leaving 6 month old kittens alone for 4 days with it sounds like disaster waiting to happen and putting it up for 2 weeks after we get back from the trip seems silly, so i am gonna buy a small one and put it on a high shelf.

Anyways im off to bed. NIght all!

OMG my poor Dad, he left his house 8.5 hours ago and still isn't here  The snow has caused absolute havoc and I'm praying we'll get to the airport OK tomorrow, that's if he ever makes it here :sad2:

Hope you feel better soon. I understand the kitten thing and trees. One year my 2 chased each other into the tree and it came crashing down. Smashed Christmas balls are not fun to pick up and replace.

Hope your dad arrives safely and you have a good flight.

Quick Hi.

I am sitting here worried because my son was injured in work last night. Nobody thought to tell me though. I found out by accident. I know he was at the hospital until 3 in the morning, it's a knee injury and he has to see the city quacks, I'm sorry DOCS today. I don't know how bad it is and nobody will tell me. I also don't trust the city drs. Hopefully he will be OK.

Not much else. Have a good day all.

Kat - Feel better:goodvibes

Jo - I just saw the pics Ellie posted :scared1: Hope your dad gets there soon and you are able to fly tomorrow! Stay safe and will you have computer access at your sisters? Let us know you arrived safely:goodvibes

Taz - Keep us posted about your son!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Hey all. It was a busy morning. Had to take Jimmy to school because there was no way that he was carrying that on the bus. Then I had to put all the book fair packets into the teachers mailboxes for distribution to the the kids. Met with the Asst. Principal to get the Book Fair schedule finalized, met with the secretary about posting posters for the teacher preview andabout the book delievery that should arrive by Thursday or Friday. AND, I still made it to work by 9:15:woohoo:

Tonight there is nothing on the agenda so I see getting our bath and bed early and curling up to watch a Christmas DVD before bed:thumbsup2

Hope you are all having a great day!

Just a quickie Dad finally made it, it took him about 5 hours to get from London Victoria to us by train which should have taken 45 minutes  So in total his journey took about 10 hours, we'll get to NY quicker than that :rotfl: Well hopefully!!!!

I will have some sort of internet access so I'll check in somehow. Em has booked us tickets for the train show at the NY Botanical Gardens on one day, it looks nice with gingerbread houses etc Wonder how long the boys will last though :rotfl:

Anyway see you later :wave2:

Quick update.

My son is OK. He was doing evening head count and went into the inmate shower to make sure no one was in there. The floor was wet and when he exited the area his foot went out from underneath him, apparently his boot was wet. His knee locked and then he went down. He has a badly sprained right knee. He's on limited duty and goes back to the city quacks, I mean drs, next week. His biggest concern is that he didn't tear anything in the knee. He had torn cartilage removed from that knee about 12 years ago. I had no details earlier and when you work in a prison anything can happen. Thankfully it was nothing more serious.

I'm a wee bit behind. Sorry!

I made it back from WDW safe and the trip was great! I can't wait to go back. I just wish it was sooner than later.

I just got a new laptop and I'm tyring to get used to my keyboard. It's really far back to the keys. Yikes!

JO- Have a great time in NY! I can;t wiat to hear about it!

I better try to go and catch up.

Just checking in !!Between work and the Holiday preparations I have been to tired to DIS:scared1:Can you imagine that:lmao:

Jo Have a wonderful time in New York !!I really wish I coulda done a meet but finances just wouldn't cooperate :sad2:

Have a busy December Calendar !!Starts this Saturday with the Annual Christmas Tea at work and just continues all the way thru Christmas !!Judy and I sincranized our calendars last night and so far all is Golden !!!

Just a quick pop in with a service warning announcement. LADIES DO NOT LEAVE YOUR WALLETS OR PURSES IN YOUR CAR!

I had to stop at church last night for a fast meeting. I was in a rush and didn't think about my purse being in the car and it was sort of out of sight. I came back a 1/2 hour later to my passenger window smashed in and my wallet gone. I managed to put stops on all of my cards online but the 2 thiefs still managed to rack up $275 in charges, including $25 at Mickey D's. I guess stealing works up an appetite. Jim has already been to 2 of the stores and had a long talk with the managers who admitted they went against store policy by not checking the ID my card specifically asks for. We know the surveillance tapes show that it was 2 women, one about 20 and one about
30, and we are getting discs of the tapes to give to thge detectives. They stayed in the same general area that I was at so they have to live around there. Police reports have been filed and now to catch them. I am pressing charges and Jim is going to make sure the DA and Judge give them the maximum sentences consecutively. Janet you won't have to deal with them for a little while. :lmao: Thankfully no one was hurt but it has been an pain dealing with the aftermath all day.

OK I now return you to your regular programming. Have a good day everyone.

Jo -Made it to NYC safely, after a diversion to DC (I am guessing for weather):thumbsup2

Taz - Yikes, that stinks! Hope they catch them:headache:

Hi everyone:wave2:

______________________

Hope you are all having a wonderful Thursday:goodvibes Worked until 11pm last night, and then right back at the regular job this morning. I think it is going to take me a bit to get used to the schedule, but I think once it gets more set it will be fine, but right now I am tired!

Not much planned for the weekend. Cleaning, laundry, working, grocery shopping...the normal stuff.

Next week I am only working Macy's on Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday which is good because of book fair, then Thurday night is parent/teacher conferences and I have to go to that myself, since JIm has to be at his school for conferences.

I need to find some time to get some wrapping started and I still have to get out and get stocking stuffers.

Chat later ladies:goodvibes

Friday, FRIDAY, FRIDAY!!! :yay:

Think I'm happy to kiss this week bye-bye?!

Hi all - just checking in. Sure is quiet around the DIS these days! I've been doing battle with my so-called Mentor at school. This is the person in charge of making sure I get the classes I need, etc. and she's not responded to any of the 3 messages I've left since Mon. I have 4 freaking classes left to graduate and can't get in touch with her to work them out. NOT a happy camper.

Work's been challenging, too, thanks to holiday nerves and difficult personalities. I'm just trying to keep to myself at this point.

Holiday decorating is done, at least, and we're enjoying a nice cold front now; lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s-70s. Perfect! :thumbsup2

Other than that, nothing new here. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

UGH! Hope it gets straightened out soon. Is there anyone above her you can go too:hug::hug:

==================================

As V said. It's Friday:banana::banana::banana:

Kind of an unbusy day here at the day job. WOrking 6:00 to 11:30 tonight at the second job. Then working 3 - 11:00 tomorrow and 5:00 to 10:30 on Sunday. Next week will be easier and less hectic. I am on vacation from the regular job for book fair next week. I do have to work Thursday and Saturday at the second job, so that isn't too bad. Jimmy's parent/teacher conference is also scheduled for next week, but since I will be at school all week for book fair I think she is just going to squeeze me in during the day.:thumbsup2

Hope you all have a great weekend.:goodvibes

Hi all. Hope you're having a great friday.

All I can say is TGIF. We have a few more places to investigate as far as charges against my cards went. I am seriously wondering if I have a basis for a lawsuit against the stores for allowing the cards to be used. Every manager I talked to said the company policy is no ID no using the card and yet they let them do it. I have to file paper work with my credit union now because they gassed TWO cars in a matter of 5 minutes with my debit cards, I also found out that they were pros. They used a screwdriver to pop the window out. I never felt like a ictim before and it's a lousy feeling.

On the plus side my window is fixed, I have replaced most of my cards, some have to be mailed, my surgery will not be affected and Jim said we'll replace my I-Pod after the holidays. I will also not be out any money eventually. The bank has to do an internal audit and then I will get credited for the debit charges.

My son and husband, you have to love them. Jamie said once they get into the Detention center, the prison he works at, they will be made to fell a litlle uncomfortable. And this will be by other inmates. The female sheriffs who will transport them have already said they may make the trip upstate with no stops and a lot of bumpy roads. I know they won't do it but it really makes me feel good to know that people are willing to say things like that to make me feel better. Now I just have to get p[ast all this and look forward to holidays with my family. The kids are all coming to my house this year. That is a GREAT Christmas.

Have a great Friday and weekend.

Hi all :wave2:

We had a horrific journey, very bumpy flight then a diversion to Washington as JFK was shut. As we landed the whole plane went side to side, pretty scary  We then had to refuel, take off and land again!!!!

We went into NYC on Thursday, saw all the sites, went up the rock, walked to Central Park, walked to Times Square, walked to Grand Central station, walked..... get the idea? :rotfl: This may sound daft but I feel as though I've done all I want there and we're not going back in :rotfl2:

Friday we went to the mall and I got the girls some A&F and Hollister, we then got a bit lost :rotfl: The days go so quick looking after the boys and we don't seem to have much time!

Yesterday we went to the NY Botanical Gardens which was nice but very chilly, we saw the holiday train show which was cute. Emma then got home about 6.30pm and today we're off to the Childrens museum in CT. Then tomorrow I'm making Emma take me to a Walmart and Target to hopefully get some cheap stuff as although I've spent over $300 I haven't bought a thing for myself :rotfl:

Then at 5am on Tuesday I'm off to the airport to fly home, hopefully the snow will be melted enough so I don't have any problems :thumbsup2

I'm guessing you did some walking:lmao: I like NYC to visit for a day, but then that is enough for me for a while.

Hey all. Today sucks! My girlfriends nephew (4) passed away this morning from a brain tumor:sad2:. Just doing laundry, JIm is doing the grocery shopping, then I am off to work at 5:00 until 10:30.
