So, having read the little hotel info book, we found that there were the shuttles into either town from the hotel. D & the copilot & flight attendant had taxied into Cabo San Lucas Saturday night before I arrived, and it was $25 each way. The hotel listed the shuttle as $15/person for an all day deal, into either or both towns, so we decided to check that out on Monday. We got up, went to eat our free breakfast, then asked at the concierge desk. Turns out that the $15 fee only applied to time-share owners, it was free for us. They ran a lot of shuttles during the day, so we should just turn up 10 minutes or so before the one we wanted and let them know. In high season, I guess you have to reserve a day in advance, but for this time of year, no problem.
So, I think we walked and did some ocean bobbing, then cleaned up and headed into San Jose for a later lunch and some shopping.
D & crew had arrived on Independence Day

- little known fact, to me at least - Cinco de Mayo celebrates a battle victory but is NOT Independence Day! So, the town still had decorations up, and looked very festive:
We did some shopping and then found a little bar & grill for lunch. Tacos de pollo, yum! (and, only $5!). Here's D enjoying the day, if not a cerveza:
We then wandered some more and caught the 5:30 shuttle back to the hotel. I think we swam in the pool for a bit and then had dinner at the casual restaurant again. I had a hunkering for a hamburger, which was terrific as well.
The next day we shuttled later in the day to Cabo San Lucas after breakfast, ocean, swimming, etc.
I think Los Cabos is a great area for spring breakers, and also golfers (there are 5 courses designed by Jack Nicklaus in the area - Jo, tell David to take you!) and sport fishermen. We couldn't do any of the boat snorkeling/fishing/sightseeing tours because of D. being on call. We both golf some, though I haven't in several years, but it was really too hot and we didn't come prepared. So, there wasn't a whole lot to do. I am fine relaxing by the sea or at the pool, with a book, a drink, etc., I'm totally happy. D, on the other hand, likes to GO, GO, GO. He had said if I wasn't there he would have been completely bored. As it was, he was OK, but still trying to find things to keep him occupied was a challenge.
So, the next 4 days were really just about the same - swimming, walks on the beach, a shuttle into one town or the other. (Yes, we did got to Cabo Wabo, DM...) Not much to report on, but I have some more nice pictures.
Here I am in a bar/grill called O Mole Mio in San Lucas:
We thought these pelicans were cool - those birds are BIG!
Now, this was kind of funny. We hit a restaurant in San Jose called the Tropicana. If you're ever there, I highly recommend it. D ordered some stuffed peppers that were very gourmet and very good, but it was just two halves of peppers. I ordered a house specialty of molcajete, a delicious combo of meats, peppers and cheese. However, it was GIGANTIC! We could have easily shared, and it came in this, just to make you feel really good about ordering it:
Yeah, that's a big iron pig. So was I!
Here's the same square from before, but lit up at night:
Here's the infinity pool at breakfast on the last full day there:
I just really like this picture for some reason. D took it when I wasn't aware:
That last day we had this waiting after our housekeeping service:
I hadn't ever seen towel animals anywhere other than Disney! I was so excited!
Saturday morning we both had to get up super early - my shuttle was coming at 6:15, D's crew ride at 6:30. The check in process was odd to my little American self - I was very early, and there weren't that many people in line ahead of me at the check in counter, but they had 6 security tables set up for a checked bag inspection, and only one American Airlines employee working the counter. So, I got check by the security right away, then stood at my table for 35 minutes (no joke) waiting for the one guy at the counter to finish the people who'd gotten there ahead of me. The security employees did a really good job of knowing who was next for the counter, but... Finally just as I would have been next for the single American Airlines guy, two more AA employees came out and started in on the back log. By this point, there was a good long queue of folks waiting, so I guess they know what they need, but...
I went ahead and went through the regular security line just to be done, but then found that there are no restaurants on the gate side!

I was so hungry! And, no first class for me on this end, so I didn't eat anything on the plane, either ($3 for a bag of chips seemed ridiculous and also a bad breakfast...) We got to DFW with no hitches and aside from a long wait for the bags in the customs area, no problem there. But, I was really, really ready to eat, so that was torture...

Finally my bags came, I cleared customs fine, got on the little train (similar to MCO's, but much longer) that took me to the right terminal, and ATE.
The flight home to Boston was completely uneventful, and only remarkable because it wasn't full, so I got a row to myself. D flew straight home from Cabo, so he was able to pick me up at the airport with no problem.
It was a really lovely and relaxing trip, though we didn't "do" much. I always appreciate the chance to remember that I really, really like my DH.

The kids did fine with my mum - she's awesome! Plus, it gave the added bonus of really being SO happy to be with them when I returned, rather than feeling obligated or run down or whatever by the day to day stuff with kids - those of you who are parents know what I mean!
Thanks for letting me share!
