Wow Mel! still snowing?? guess its a snow day tomorrow for the boys huh?
We just have freezing yukky rain here. :sick: I would rather snow..:santa:

YES. Still snowing, even now at 7 am. BUT, they didn't cancel school! ARGH!!!! There's about 3-4 inches of heavy wet snow but they didn't cancel. Poor SD couldn't even push the shovel across the driveway to the other side because about half way it got too heavy! Which means, I will have to *try* to fire up the snowblower (which I'm not sure how to do!) and go out and snowblow it. Fun.

If I can't start the blower, I'll call Sheila's son Brad to do it with theirs. He's home from college and I know he's broke!

So, how are you guys!?

MEL:banana:

Good morning Fockers!!!
Thank you all so much for the prayers, well wishes, and thoughts!!! I was really touched.

So, here is the break down....I was perfectly fine until about 6pm on Friday and then I was in agonizing pain. Went to the ER and was literally begging for help. I am kind of embarrassed by my behavior....I yelled alot and threatened. I was too the point of offering up favors of the call girl kind to get drugs....and then the morphine kicked in.

So, my kidneys are a huge mess. Over a hundred stones tinkling around in there. The DR seems to not believe that I haven't been in any pain or had any issue with UTI and the like. The last UTI/kidney infection I had was seven years ago!!!!

The surgery went well...they took out what they could and put in the stint. I tried to be superwoman and quickly realized how stupid that was....so, I spent the rest of yesterday in bed reading. Finsihed the book BTW Jen....when can you drop off the next one???

Kaia came home...Damian was much nicer than he had been (jerk). I had told him if he brought her home I would put him up in a room. Well, I have no money...what with the not working for a while and the trip to Maryland next weekend. So, I had to ask him to stay here. He slept with Kaia and will take her to school in the morning. The GF (who we refer to as Crunchy) was not all too happy....that was interesting.

I still feel like doody....call to set up my follow up appt in a few hours. I'll keep everyone posted. And I promise no more driving!!!!

WOW !!! It is good to hear from you in the "Virtual" Flesh.
You sure have been through it honey.
But I think you have these ladies riled up...knowing you went without pain meds that first night home THEN DRIVING yourself the NEXT DAY:scared1:

I Might do something like that myself... so I not going to be too hard on you.. but... I did not know anybody else was as stubborn as me.

Take it easy... or as easy as you can. That is still a lot of stones to have to deal with. :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:

Morning, everybody. It's back to school time around here. It was nice to have a break while it lasted. Of course, there wasn't much resting, just lots of shoping and decorating. :sad2:

I think Camryn's sick today. Last night she said her tummy hurt. She woke Kirt up this morning and told him the cat threw up in her room. Kirt said there was evidence that it wasn't the cat, but Camryn swears it wasn't her. :confused3 Weird. So, she's on watch.

Aiden needs a haircut today- bad! He looks like an ewok! :lmao: Baylie's chain on her braces looks like it's coming off, so I guess we need to head over to the orthodontist today. Target's begging me to come back ;) and we resume dance today. So, it's a busy day. IF Camryn holds up and stays well. :headache:

What's everyone else up to? popcorn::

Good morning!

I'm watching the season finale of True Blood (Finally!!!!) and then making banana bread. That's all. Picking up children from school later this afternoon, too I guess.

I'm going to start addressing cards soon. I want to snap a pic of the boys for the cards, so maybe we'll bundle up in the snow and do it this afternoon when they get home!

Does anyone have a good recipe for a breakfast dish? Like a baked french toast or egg thing you bake?

MEL

Here's a baked french toast recipe I use on Christmas. It's so bad for you! :cloud9:

Baked French Toast
1 loaf french bread
8 large eggs
2 cups half and half
1 cup milk (I use skim because I enjoy irony)
2 tbs. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt
Praline topping (recipe below)
Maple syrup (I prefer Aunt Jemima, but if you have your own maple tree or something go for it, Laura Ingalls)
Slice bread in 20 pieces. Arrange in a greased 9 x 13 pan in two layers. Combine other ingredients until bubbly. Pour over bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350. (the next morning, not the night before because that would be a fire hazard)
Spread praline topping over the whole thing and bake 40 minutes. Serve with warm, maple syrup.
Praline Topping
2 sticks butter
1 cup light brown sugar
2 tbs. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Crunchy wasn't happy? Awwwww. Crunchy needs to get a grip. ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm home sick. I was up all night long with a fever, chills, aches, etc.
I can't even get comfy enough to sleep. Blah.
:hug: Hope everyone has a wonderful day. (I washed my hands before I gave that hug so as not to spread germs)
Baylie put both of her contacts in all by herself for the first time this morning! :banana:
I don't know what's up with the pictures. I am going to repost them and delete that post so people don't get confused! Be Back in a few
Morning all! I'm back to work and taking a quick break from my 279 emails. :headache:
Ummmm...where do the presents go with the train in the way? ;)
Off to the sides - there's plenty of room! :thumbsup2
WHOA WHOA WHOA.....
I thought I was on the "Dis-Boards" not the "OGR Boards"
:rotfl: Sorry about that Katt!
As promised here are pictures of both the new living room/dining room and the Christmas decorations...
Um, yeah, I'm seeing nothing. :confused3
I'm packing Wednesday, I know :sad2: :rotfl2:
Wise idea - a cold front is moving through tomorrow, so best to wait another day or so to see the new forecast.
Good morning Fockers!!!
Thank you all so much for the prayers, well wishes, and thoughts!!! I was really touched.
Hi Meeska! :hug: :hug: :hug: You need a BREAK girl; try not to let the jerk get to you - I know how hard that is. :hug:
I swear I think my cat has a dogs soul trapped inside her body as she just loves to play fetch. My mom bought her a new toy a few days ago and she just loves the thing. It is a small red glittery mouse. Well Amber will not stop harassing me to play fetch with her with this darn toy. My arm is sore from having thrown it a million times over the past 3 days. If I try and ignore her and her mouse she just sits there and cries and cries. :rolleyes:
Does anyone have a good recipe for a breakfast dish? Like a baked french toast or egg thing you bake?
MEL
How about a Frittata ??
Basic recepie...
8 eggs (or 2 cups of egg beaters)
1/2 cup milk( omit if using the egg beaters)
1/2-1 lb of cheeses( depends on how cheesy you want it)
Seasoning to taste
Whip the Eggs and milk together till well blended( much like scrambled eggs)
This can be any type of breakfast dish you want now...
Add 1-1 1/2 pounds of meat ( can be sausage, steak, bacon, ham, chicken, even hamburger.. (which tastes a lot like a funky cheese burger when you are done.. aka "Royal Rad Robin")
Make sure your meat is cooked prior to adding to egg mixture.
Or meatless and add all the veggies, sauces, salsa you want
Typically mine go like this
Egg mixture
Ham or sausage
onions
sweet peppers
Jalapeños
tomato's
Cheddar cheese
American Cheese
Pepper Jack Cheese
Grease or use cooking Spray on
a 10x12 baking dish ( for a taller fluffier casserole)
or a 10x15 """" ( bakes quicker )
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes ( depending on dish size) at 350 degrees
Reheats well for leftovers... freezes well.
If you want this to be more fluffy... you can add 1/2 cup sifted flour to the egg mixture.
Lessa- How funny! Such a silly kitty! :rotfl:
Tera- Nope to Paula Deen. I just found it on-line one year. Last year was the first time we did it and it was so good, but Camryn and Aiden didn't like it. Maybe I'll make an eggy dish for them this year. I love that you can leave it in the fridge overnight and bake it while we open gifts. :thumbsup2
Janet- I love the new furniture and Christmas decorations. :goodvibes
Jo- I just got back. :lmao: I got the rest of my dishes, but they didn't have the multi-colored ornament tree I wanted. :headache:
Hi Mel!!! :hug:
Katt- I'll have to make something like this too on Christmas morning. The little kids didn't like my baked french toast. :eek:
CIMG0293.jpg
Wha?! How'd that get there?! :lmao:
