I'll be at Kohls at 4, then Target at 6. Then I'm heading back to bed. :rolleyes:
The kids stayed at my mom's until Saturday morning. B already called me tonight crying and upset. :guilty:

Good luck shopping, Fockers! :upsidedow

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!!

What will you be doing? One of my best jobs ever was working at an outdoor arena bartending. Being outside and seeing all the cool concerts.

Z~ A Madonna volunteer! Please tell us all about that when you get back!

Z - working the concert sounds fun! I have a friend who works concerts and while he doesn't get paid a lot, he gets to see them all free. He can work the ones he wants to work.

So the Madonna concert was great!! We got to Dolphin Stadium around 3pm and got our badges and uniform and were taken to the field where we would be working. We were literally on the 50 yard line :woohoo: Our job for the day was to be the bar backs, which we basically just had to pour liquor into cups so they'd be ready for the bartenders to mix. It wasn't hard and as soon as the concert started everyone stopped buying drinks and we were able to watch it!!:dance3: Then we did a little clean up and the bartenders split their tips with us. So we made $55 in tips plus we got paid from the agency that was promoting the job. :thumbsup2 My friend and I were completely tired though and our feet were killing us, but we had fun. I'll post some pics I got (using my phone) as soon as I can.

Mrs the King said:
Last week my friend with ALS attempted suicide. I am so angry at her. And I am so sad for her. She was texting me the night before and had mentioned it, but I did not think she was serious. She tricked a caregiver into opening her pills for her and took them when no one was looking. After 2 days in ICU and one in the regular room she came home. I feel like I have not processed it yet. I almost don't want to. Is that selfish of me? Just to put it all on the back burner?

Sorry to vent. I hope everyone has an amazing Turkey day.

OMG :hug: :hug: Vent away.

I took BabyGirl to the ENT yesterday and she is going to have to have surgery. No surprise there. They recommended last Jan to have her tonsils and adenoids removed, but we wanted to wait because she had just turned 3. Now they have to remove one of her tubes and the ENT said her tonsils look even worse. Might as well get it all done in 1 go. They called to schedule the surgery today, but I missed the call. They want to do it on Dec 4, but Mr Diz is having his hernia surgery on Dec 5. I'm going to try to get her surgery the following week.

Oh wow! 2 surgeries within a week. :hug: :hug:

Anyway, if I'm not back, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. And Jo, enjoy your Thursday :rotfl2: You are all great people, and I am thankful to know each and every one of you.

:goodvibes
Kate

That was beautiful and true Kate :sad1:

I hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey Day.:grouphug:

Here is the house we looked at today... I think this link will work for all of you.

There is the Info sheet.. and to see the pictures.... click the photo's tab.

Wow! That's really nice! Those rooms are standard sized rooms in Miami :sad2: . Love the hardwood floors and the updated kitchen. Is that a 2-sided fireplace in the dining room and living room? I'd try to negotiate the price and get comparables of other houses in the area to see what they've sold for.
(yes I watch to much HGTV):rolleyes1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I got home last night from the concert at about 2am and I was TIRED! I felt like I had spent a week in Disney staying out all day in the parks commando style. Plus my mom had a 6am flight so we had to be out of the house by 4am and I'd been awake since 8:30am Wed. Well, I soaked in the tub for about an hour and went to take a nap until 4am to take my mom, but I ended up waking at 6am :scared1: freaked out looking for my mom who wasn't in the house. I called her phone which was off and then my brother's who was walking through the door. Apparently my mom didn't want to wake me so asked him to take her to the airport. I was relieved, but sad because I didn't get to see her off. I went back to bed and woke up to get ready to "cook" Thanksgiving dinner.
I use cook loosely because my mom had made rice the night before and I just had to reheat it. We bought a pre-made turkey, so just had to heat that up too. I did make mashed potatoes though. It was just my brother and I and then later on the boyfriend made an appearance after finally deciding to come over.
I'll be hitting some sales tomorrow, but luckily I don't need to buy many things.
Goodnight!
Sounds as though you all had nice days, hi to the lost Fockers :wave2:
Thanks about the house, isn't it funny that because we built it it will always, well till it's gone, be our house. We had so much fun there, we had swimming parties where Dad made custard pies and we all pied each other, we had numourous pets, chickens, geese, goats, sheep, rabbits by the dozen it was just a fantastic childhood!
My Dad called last night to say my Grandad has been very ill, him and his brothers were all called into his care home in the middle of the night. He sometimes does this and then bounces back, he had 3 brain anerysms (so not spelt like that!!!!) over 15 years ago but this time he looks very ill apparently. Dad has said though that if anything happens my plans for next week do not change!
I'm sitting here colouring my hair, the pre Disney root touch up :rotfl: Did I tell you I've been sent 2 lines of a video shoot we're making :eek: I'm going to look so daft and when you watch it no laughing OK :lmao:
BTW thanks Katt for making me cry :rotfl:
Just had a call my Grandad died early this morning, what is very spooky is that it is 15 years today that he collapsed with the anerysms!!!!!
I was just thinking I've got to be crazy to be up at this hour to shop, and now I'm glad I got the chance to give Jo hugs when she needs them. :hug: :hug: :hug:
Once Kirt brushes his teeth, we'll be going. Everyone take care and have a restful day. :goodvibes
It's raining so no golf, I cleaned yesterday and I've already dyed my hair so I'm going to bake a cake, I'm going to look so fat on the cameras next week :rotfl2:
I'm sending 1 of Katt thorny roses to you Jo !! So sorry about your Grandad !!
Katt as you can see that story really touched me and at a perfect time , today or rather yesterday we had some rocky moments ,but that story put them in proper perspective !! Thanks !!
Thanks everyone, my Dad just called and the funeral is set for Thursday, the day I fly to WDW so I'll miss it. Mt sister will also miss it as she's flying in from NYC that day. But the most important thing is that my Dad who is flying to the US (we're all keeping your economy going ;) :lmao:) on the following Wednesday is able to go. BTW my Grandad would kill me if I didn't go to WDW!
BTW the cake I made was delicious :rotfl:
Morning :goodvibes
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and those of you CRAZY enough to go shopping this morning are doing okay. I did it once...and that was enough for a lifetime.
Update on the ceiling...we are so lucky. We cut a 6 inch hole in the ceiling about above where the shower is and found the pipe. It's not cracked. The water was pouring down from the actual drain in the shower. It looks like the rubber ring detached from the pvc pipe...so, a new ring and some silicone sealant and we're all set. Well, that and a new set of recessed lights for the hole in the ceiling :)
Just in case you're talking to me......I sent you my cell number! I text quite a bit now with both girls having phones! Plus I got a new Samsung 520 slider that I really like this week! (you WERE talking to me, right?? Cause I'd hate to get my hopes up that I'd actually get a text.....:rolleyes: ) ;)
Daran got back from Korea late Sun nite--he was turned around 14 hours for at least 2 days. I had to convince him that I really did not want to stay up till 1 am....no matter how long he'd been gone! :rolleyes:
But I got nice jewelry, a silk scarf, and promise of nice Christmas gift! :thumbsup2
What, not trampolining;)
.
....he ate silkworms........that sounds bad, right???
:scared:
=========================================================
Good Morning ladies. I left the house at 4:45am and hit TOys R us by 5:15am. Was out of there by 6:00 with everything I needed except one thing they didn't have (That wasn't a doorbuster, so I am going to try a different TRU tonight!). From there went to Wally World, which was just :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: . Got Jim some jeans (Wrangler) for $8.00 and a couple of mock turtle necks ($7). I also got Jimmy some feety pajama's for ($6). He loved feety pajamas!
From there I went to Target. At this point it was 7:03am (according to the cell phone) and I got a text from T wishing me a Happy Black Friday. She was waiting for Wally World to open in Califronia! Got what I wanted/needed (except for one thing) there and was checked out and in the car by 7:30 heading to work.
Got here about 8:00 and realizes I forgot my ID to get in the building. Luckily someone else was coming in at the same time and let me in, so today I am a temporary employee!
After work I will head to another Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and then the King of Prussia Mall!
I will check in later!
I'm so sorry, Jo. :hug: :hug: :hug:
And Katt - thanks for that story. It really was perfect for the day! :hug:
~~~~~~~~
I tried to sleep in this morning, but the girls wouldn't let me. But we've got no plans for the day, so I might be able to catch a nap. We've got a big snowstorm in the forecast for tomorrow night into Sunday, so I'm probably going to try to get the outside decorations done today, while it's still in the 40s. And I'll maybe try to get some laundry done....:laundy: I'm not crazy enough to brave the mall, but I do have to get to the grocery store at some point since the girls just drank the last of the milk. :rolleyes1

Sorry about your Grandpa JO. That is a tough one... you have something scheduled ( vacation) and BAM... that happened to me in July on our "Do Over" Vacation. My closest friends lost their Dad/Fil.. and I was leaving the next day for Disney. I was so torn. You can't be in both places at the same time. And you feel bad for leaving and having fun.:hug: :hug:

I'm with you Mel... none of this early shopping for me.

For those of you that read my VERY LONG POST...
Yes it mentioned GOD... I was not meaning to send a "religious" message.. not trying to "convert" anyone. It's the whole story... that our rough times do make us stronger, no matter how painful it is. But we have to learn from our Pain. Yes I am a GOD Believer. I do believe in his love and power, and in his protection. He allows "Stuff" in our lives, just as we "allow" our own kids to get in "some" trouble.. be we also protect and shelter them as much as we can.

Mel.. you come to mind as a SUPER SUPER strong lady... BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN THROUGH. While I do not have "Hero's" ,
You would be in that classification to me. While you may feel weak.. you are really STRONG!! :hug:

G-Luv.. You are also tops on my list. Single Mom.. and a Mom with a kid with So many struggles.. that I cry almost on a daily basis. I KNOW for a Fact... I would go Bonkers. Joshua has issues.... but he is Healthy.
When our kids are sick and struggle... that's when us Mommas go Puma. :hug:

Rosie... who looks after those who can not look after them selves

Rachael ...who has 2 kids with Autism, and in the middle of a Move.

Jen....who is frustrated with her Dad's actions after the loss of her Mom.

TE.. who is watching her parents have health issues.

Janet and V... Kiddo's who both had to switch schools and adding stress to their Momma's Lives for one reason or another.

There are others.. but these are the ones that come to mind quickly.

This bunch of ladies... ( and gentlemen) are the Roses in my Life.

:hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:

So what are your lines:confused3
I'd better not say!
