Thanks, hope you had a nice day, too!
Now if I can only get my friends organized and on the same page as me. lol.
You know what you have to do...

Good morning!
The kids are on the bus and D's walking the dog.
I didn't share two of the more interesting things about our day yesterday.
The first is a funny. I had found a little state park which allowed pets and fishing, but we'd never been before. It was about 45 minutes from the house - no problem.
Well, D got a portable GPS from his mom for his birthday - planning on uploading the lake charts into it and using it a lot on the boat, but it's obviously a portable one and we've been playing with it in the car. I was excited to find the state park listed as a destination, so I popped it in, but never looked at the overall route (it just starts at the house and never shows you the whole route unless you ask for it...)
So, it took us on the major state east-west highway, rather than the north-south interstate, which was what I kind of expected, but I figured that it might have a "better" way. We were about 3 miles from the ocean when we looked at the final destination and realized that the park it was leading us to was NOT where we meant to go - the GPS database was totally wrong.

SO, we'd already driven a good 45 minutes and then had to backtrack another 40 or so.
It was an adventure.

The other thing is a little less funny. We might have just gone to the ocean side park, except that I had specifically looked for one that allowed dogs, and so of course the dog was in the van with us.
He did fine through the walk and the fishing, but when we were walking back, he saw a couple of women with a Rottweiler and an extremely overweight corgi.
He was really was pulling and straining to get to them. We were really on him, making him heel, trying to calm him down. It was weird - he's always been pretty friendly to other dogs - and as we approached, I said, "Oh, I'm sorry, he's not usually this excitable."
The younger woman had the Rotty, and she allowed her dog to approach. We probably should have said, "No, he's too worked up," but we let them smell each other. Then the fight started.

Our dog's good, except that we think he's a little bruised (he was not bitten, which is good.)
Anyway, by the time we'd sorted that - plus the whole stupid GPS issue - it was really too late to go out to eat on a school night, so we ditched the Mexican restaurant plan in favor of grilling some salmon. Yum. We'll try to go out tomorrow night (since it was as much behavior reward as Mother's Day celebration) - the kids have their one weeknight ball game tonight.
I have nothing planned today, except a trip to the store. Buzz's milk was curdled this morning.

Hope everyone's had a good start to the day! I'll be around.
