Good morning! Just checking in before we left for the hospital. Omicron is having some tests done and is staying overnight. He is super excited about getting to stay in the hospital. go figure? I need to feed him, pack, finish laundry, and clean the kitchen (again) before we leave in less than 3 hours! I'm bringing my laptop but don't know if I will have internet.

Well apparently Waldo and the morphine drip got a bit too aquainted last night and he hasn't been able to hold anything down, so they won't release him for home.

Oh no, hope he improves today and I so agree about the swine flu stuff, why do we over react to everything these days?

Well I ended up playing golf at my own club, so no practise round ready for tomorrow never mind, and we played a fun match and it was great. I played to a 9 handicap with 3 double bogies I know you don't know what that means but I'm telling you anyway We just missed the rain, it poured literally 5 minutes after we came in, when I drove home from taking Ellie to ballet there was hail

I adored her when I met her last October, just wanted all of us to be sending good thoughts to her and Ben today .

I'm also trying to find a cheap upright exercise bike, so i have a means to blow off steam and maybe even come pounds.

Anyway... the whole swine flu is crazy! On one hand, I think the media is blowing it way out of proportion as usual. They're always trying to keep the brown man down. Apparently all the people who have it are reacting positively to treatment, so I think it will pass. I think the CDC is on the right track though. People need to practice good hygiene and be proactive about doing the right thing - staying out of public places if they are sick, actively wash hands, keep those with high risk home, etc. JMHO.

Gotta hit the shower - just got back from the gym and I'm gross.

Good girl on the gym. You are totally right about the flu. However, it's impossible to police EVERYONE'S hygeine. It makes me nuts that I can take all the precautions I want and someone can hack and cough and snot all over and touch stuff and we'll get sick! Grrrr!

This drives me crazy. I keep Jimmy home when he is sick, please keep your kid home when they are sick

I made it to the gym this morning and biked 9 miles! I wanted to do 10 today, tomorrow and Thurs. but I just didn't have it in me! Whew!

Then hit the grocery store and picked up kiddos. The sun finally put in an appearance after many days of wind and thunderstorms. We've got the colder weather today too. Only 43 after over 80 yesterday and all weekend!

Poor Bob had to go to work today and find out that he has to fire two of his engineers. He's sad about that. He's going out for a drink with his 2nd in command after work. They're both pretty upset.

Not much else going on here. I'm in pjs already. I am making some grilled chicken salads for dinner and then we're going to watch some tv. Big exciting night here!

I'm getting there. The thing with home schooling is the collection(s) of stuff...books you think you might need, record keeping stuff, a portfolio of work for each boy, art supplies up the wazoo. After a while I just get tired of looking at it. So it was tidy day.

As for the trip, I am just waiting to see what the woman in charge decides to do. I imagine it will be a go, but when you bring in one team of 6 to 10 students from each state in the country, you're talking lots of germs

Poor Bob had to go to work today and find out that he has to fire two of his engineers. He's sad about that. He's going out for a drink with his 2nd in command after work. They're both pretty upset.

So, it's 91 again today, but sometime tonight it's supposed to drop down to 48 and be in the high 60's and low 70's the rest of 10 day forecast. There's some nice SPRING weather!

We drove up to the lake, but couldn't get the boat out, so we just walked around and showed the IL's around the lake. They were pretty funny about saying, "Oh, wouldn't it be great if you could rent a place?" Which is good as we've - as a surprise - rented a house on a lake island for the week in July when they come back for FIL's birthday.

We're going out for dinner, since we never put the AC in the window (with the good weather coming, it seemed silly) and I have no desire to even turn on the stovetop.

Our company is leaving sometime tomorrow, but with D and the kids still home, I may be MIA for a while more. Miss you all, love you all... Hope you're all doing well.

Kat - I'm really sorry about Bale. My Pepper (pomeranian) died 5 1/2 years ago and I still get teary eyed over her. When she passed, I was surprised at how sweet my friends were about it. Some people don't get how someone can love a pet so much. You wouldn't believe how many sympathy cards I received. She was truly a member of the family. My bro-in-law's girlfriend is not a pet lover and she even cried when Pepper died and sent me a card.

I'm trying to get more exercise, so dh and I went to the tennis courts Sunday. Let me say - we are not tennis players, but figured we would hit the ball back and forth just to get some fun exercise. Well, 3 minutes on the court and I somehow pulled a muscle or something in my leg - behind my knee. I felt a pop. I guess that just shows that I'm getting old. It hurts like crazy to bend that leg.

Also want to mention that dh and I decided to do Nutrisystem. We did it about 1 1/2 years ago and I got tired of the food. I didn't really want to do it again b/c of that, but he really wanted to do it. I figured we need to be on the same page. Well, this go around I am a little more excited about it b/c I found on the ns website, people have posted tricks to making the food taste better. Some of the food I really like and some is just okay, some is terrible. I also found 2 websites where 2 ladies have posted recipes that they came up with that follow the ns plan. So I can make these recipes on some days and not get tired of the ns food. AND I will eventually just follow these recipes and not buy the ns food. If anyone is interested the websites are:

I don't know either one of these ladies, but they have lost a lot of weight following this plan. Anyway - if you look at these sites, they will tell you how to follow the plan without buying the ns food. Of course, much cheaper to do it on your own. My sis has been doing NS for 3 months and lost 15 pounds. DH lost 7.5 pounds last week. We've only been doing the diet for a week.

DEB is taking Omicron to the hospital for tests. He has to stay O/N. They should be home by supper tomorrow. I hope everything is OK.

RACHEL is renting the house in OH. She is making it a down payment on her future as a Snowbird.

ROSIE is stressed about Judy’s situation.

V is having horrible sinus probs. She is worried about the flu.

SHARKY is having a Glad Bag day. She says Wii can help you understand Jo’s double boogers better.

JANET says the job is OK right now. The weather is not.

T says Waldo made it through surgery just fine. He is enjoying the morphine a little too much. They are holding him an extra day. She says use good hygiene practices while this flu thing is around.

SLATE is doing OK. She says there was a report of Swine flu from WDW.

DAWN says, “The town south of us (where K's San Antonio shop is) closed all the schools in the entire district for a week. They also closed the public parks and asked that families who might have been exposed to stay out of work or public places. Last night they announced a school here in our little town is closed too.” Please take precautions and clorox wipes.

Rain and cooler for the next few days here in Redneck country. It looks like I'll be working on the man cave while I'm off this week. It is supposed to rain avery day except Saturday. By the time I'm able to mow again, I'll need a bailer. Hey TE, can I borrow the goats.

I get to call WDW on Fri. for MNSSHP tickets. I need to get park hopper adder to my tix and let them know that we will be using the ME. I think I'll go ahead and pay off my part of the trip while I'm at it. That always makes it feel like a done deal.

Judy's boss said go ahead with the surgery , she saidshe had even told the Big Boss about it and he was still okay with her keeping the job , so that so far is good !! It was announced on the news today that all the schools in our little town were closed by the health department until MAY 11th!

Uh, we may drive each other nuts, but we'll be hanging around the house until we feel like it's safer to visit public places. They are asking people to avoid public gatherings.
I haven't been able to get ahold of our dance school to find out what's going on there. It's crazy!

We probably have had no contact with anyone who has the infection, but we are playing it safe by avoiding dance and group gatherings.

What really stinks is that we may be moving in the next week and a half and the kids can't see their friends to say bye.

I'm tired. I'll be back in the morning with house updates.

Just a quick hello before I hit the bed.

I prob won't be around tomorrow because I have filled my day up. KC is going back to work so a long day alone in the house without Bale, is not my idea of fun. So I am meeting Pants for lunch early and then heading to the Disney store and see if i can sue some of my Disney dollars. Then I am gonna do some more general shopping and probably stop by a friend's work before picking KC up. If all else fails I will end up reading in borders, which is way better than being home.
