I went to the Breaking Dawn Concert Series opening night...it was an adventure. I'll do a mini TR (Monday maybe) I took a ton of pics. Then we went to a midnight release party. I have been reading the book and sleeping and eating in short intervals for the last 24 hours. It's been long and crazy and I am up now at 3am because I am out of whack!

Tomorrow we are going to the city for L's birthday dinner at an awesome Mexican place. So I'll be back in full force on Monday!!!! Night!

Hi Jo! Ok, I'm the first AMERICAN awake on this side of the pond apparently, so I'll ask?

WHAT does that mean?
I see Lessa told you, have I not posted that since you've been here????

I know that! It means they were poking fun at him, he was the butt of all the jokes.
Great explanation Lessa :thumbsup2

OMG, I was about to log off, but had to share this...

Leo is in play kitchen and is right now having an imaginary phone call with LL's son Michael! He's asking "Michael" how his arm is feeling and telling him not to worry, we'll have lots of fun in WDW! He also just told him he's sending him some ice cream to make him feel better. :goodvibes

I didn't get a book......waiting on the emergency shipment for monday.
Tell me about the party tho!!!

Whoops forgot.........

Happy Birthday Daran

he would say THANKS I'm sure......but he's out with the critters!
HIS family is doing a brunch this am to welcome some San Antonio kinsfolk in! (the girls are less than amused to get up!)

Dawn---he is an army surgeon at the base in SA and she's a nurse/mom with 2 kiddos. They lived in Dallas when we were in FW.

Morning Fockers!! :wave2: Wow did I have TONS to catch up on!!:surfweb: Things have been pretty hectic here so I haven't been around much, but getting very excited for our upcoming trip!:thumbsup2

I had to go back and read about 15 pages on the old thread and then the 3 pages here. PHEW!! I feel soooo out of the loop! Turtle-nappings, Flat Stanley's world tour, not-so-secret admirers...OH THE DRAMA!

Speaking of turtle-napping - have any of you seen the pictures of the Montauk Monster on CNN? :scared: I think it's some kind of giant sea turtle with man-eating teeth and no shell, but...who knows what the heck that thing is:sad2:

Dawn - if you still need North Carolina for your FS project, just let me know!

Mel - :hug: I think your appt. isn't until the 8th, but sending you hugs in advance...maybe they'll be good luck.

V - HOW CUTE is Leo? To be chatting with Michael on the pretend phone...OMG. And I LOVED the pic with Doc! Give my little buddy a hug from us!

T - I'm so sorry we missed Evan's birthday! Where've I been??

Lessa - thanks for the heads-up on the Mummy movie. Bummer. We wanted to see that. We went to see Journey to the Center of the Earth last night. Not bad. Wasn't jaw dropping awesome, but held our attention for 2 hours. Batman must be cleaning up - there were only 8 other people in the theater besides us - a family of 6 and one couple. I didn't think that Journey had been out for that long that no one would come see it anymore?:confused3

Janet - How strange to hear about the metal detectors in the historic district. Funny how the world has changed, eh? :sad2:

G-Luv - I can't believe you're already almost totally unpacked?! Where in the world did you find the time?

Katt - Welcome back!

Kat - Looking forward to hearing all about the Breaking Dawn stuff. I finally ordered Twilight...looking forward to start reading it when it gets here.

Everyone else...Kate, CE...hope all is well...here's hoping that this week will bring good mojo for all of us...

Fingers crossed - we have a drs. appt. on Tuesday for more x-rays...I guess to make sure that the bone the ortho surgeon bent in Michael's arm hasn't bent back:scared: . Maybe I'll get some kind of idea as to when he can get a smaller cast too...

Poor Michael has a field trip on Tuesday afternoon - they're going to this place called the Greenville (not-so) Fun Park. They have bumper cars, mini-golf and video games. Poor little man can only play the one-handed video games. Going to cost me a small fortune to keep him entertained that afternoon...:sad2:

Anywhoooo...I have to go catch up on other threads!

LY all!!!:grouphug:

Janet, did I read that you are already playing with Flat Stanley? I havent even liberated the poor boy from my computer yet!! :rolleyes1
::yes:: She already sent me pics of him too! :thumbsup2

I graduated in '92 and I never heard of them. There were Converse, Keds and Kaepas, but I didn't have any of them. :headache:

:woohoo: That's great news!!!

Dawn - I would be happy to help you out, just pm the kind of thing you would be looking for.
PM me your e-mail and I'll send FS to you. Then you can take pictures of him anywhere you think is important or pretty in Canada. If you go somewhere and there are brochures or whatever, that works too. A postcard from Flat Stanley is really great too! Thanks for helping out! :goodvibes

HSM: Do you want inside landmark pics or are outside ok... we have alot of em... but losts charge for "entry" .... We'll be getting some mountains one for ya for free though hehe
I don't want you to have to spend money, so go with whatever works for free. :thumbsup2

Dawn - I'd be happy to take OH & WV
That would be wonderful!!! PM me your e-mail and I'll send FS to you today. :goodvibes

The kiddos and I've had a great weekend so far. :) We went to the Fireman's Festival last night. They had a parade with all kinds of firetrucks and the kids left with bags full of candy. And then went to the carnival and ate way too much junk food and got our ride on. This was the first year I let them ride the rides so they had tons of fun! It started to pour down rain on the way home though. (We only lived a few blocks from the area they had the carnival so we walked up). But we still had a blast!

And then tonight we went to my aunt's Mararitaville party. I didn't drink much but had a nice time. I am sooooooo glad my kids are outta that baby stage where I don't have to watch them constantly. I've had to do that the past 2 years and this was the first year I actually got to sit, pig out on all the food and enjoy myself. :) I think I needed after the week I've had.

The kids and I went and bought Lindsey's school supplies, back pack and lunch box for Kindy this afternoon. I can't believe my baby is starting Kindy!!! And I got a letter in the mail on Friday for when DR will be starting preschool. He'll be starting on 8/27. :scared1: I am soooooooo not ready for this either!!! Where have my babies gone??? (And to think, in the last paragraph I was just thankful for how grown up they were getting :laughing: )

Night all!
Sounds fun! :banana:
My youngest would be in Kinder this year too. I told my MIL, "You know, all three of them would be in full day school this fall if we didn't homeschool." She said, "Yeah, then youcould get drunk every morning and be sobered up by the time 3 rolls around!" :rotfl: She's such a crack up!

Well we're having a big BBQ for all Dad's family in about an hour but it keeps raining :headache: Everything is done and I suppose the rain won't matter to the ones who want to swim in Dad's pool anyway :rotfl2:

So, when are you coming to visit them? :confused3 Focker meet!!! :banana:

My MIL has a restaurant right down the road from one of the bases in SA. I wonder if he's at the same one she's by. PM me!!! :idea:

I am so excited that all of you are willing to help. I'm just touched. :goodvibes

Like I said, I don't want people to spend a bunch of money or anything. Just grab a free brochure from something around you, take a few pics and send a postcard with a picture that represents your state.

Let's try to get Flat Stanley home by the end of September, okay? That gives us all a time frame.

Janet sent me some pics last night and I told the kids a story of how he ran off. They were so fascinated. I'll have to do a blog entry about it after church. I'll tell you all when I do.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I got Daran some clothes for his b-day---longer shorts cause Ab said he was outta style, and some pants, and some Old navy undies---gray briefs............so he could be....ya know....a LITTLE different after 18 years of.....well anyway, he didn't like them and took them back tonite and stopped at Target to buy white FTLs (fruit of the......you know....:mad: );)

I know, of all the pages, I decided to quote on TE's dh's undie troubles! :sad2:

Just had tell you guys the funniest story. When Ds15 was about 2 or 3 he was just done with a bath and I told him, go find your undies. They're in the dryer. He ran off to get them and came back all upset. I asked him what was wrong and he said, these aren't the right ones. :confused3 What do you mean? "Not the right ones...?" He said, Well these are batman undies. I like the other ones better. So, I'm racking my brain trying to think WHAT ones? He only has plain tightie whiteys and the batman ones...He prefers the plain ones???!!!

So, I say, Um the only other ones you have are the white ones. Are those the ones you mean!? He says, Yes. The ones with the apple. The Fruit of Doom ones....

OMG. :scared1: :lmao: :scared1: :lmao:

My dh and I laugh STILL about this!

---------------
I was going to type you guys a long explanation here about something INCREDIBLY stupid that I did but I don't want to hog up a huge post. SO, in a nutshell, here it is. The Dr gave me a drop (for the pressure) when he did the needling. It's called Alphagan. It's in a turquoise bottle/purple cap. He also gave me a bottle of natural tears that are in a turquoise bottle/turquoise cap for the dryness and scratchiness that usually follows a needling.

I just discovered yesterday that for a week(!!!!!) I've been using the tears INSTEAD of the pressure drop! I'm so out of it (I blame stress, Bob's job things, and DS's panic attacks *more on this later*) that I didn't even notice that the bottle was WRONG! SO!!!! No wonder my pressure was UP!

I can't wait to tell the DR. I'm calling him at 9:01 am on Monday!!! But, maybe that is good news...maybe now that I'm actually PUTTING the darn drop in it will GO DOWN!

And yesterday we went to see Batman. In Imax. It cost 62$ for the four of us and snacks. Five minutes after we sat down, DS15 had a massive panic attack and I had to leave with him. :guilty: I feel awful. I don't know what is going on with im. I don't know what to do. I can't calm him down. He was in full on panic mode from then (4pm) until I finally BEGGED him to go to sleep at 2 am!!!!!!!!!!

So, Fockers, I am TIRED. I'm heartsick over what is wrong with my baby. :guilty: I am calling the Dr. as soon as I can this morning even though it's Sunday. He's on call usually. I just don't know what's going on. Please subsititute all your well wishes and prayers for my eye to my baby. I am losing it.

And Bob's leaving town for 8 days tomorrow. God help me.

MEL:banana:

A finished thread and four new pages to read :faint: But, I made it :thumbsup2

Mel, I'm glad you figured out you were putting just the tears in...maybe now things will improve for you. Does it make sense to put off your appt until you get two full weeks of pressure drops? And :hug: about your son. 15 is a tough age, and to have panic attacks on top of it all...

I hope everyone has a great Sunday and this thread is free of bad juju!

Tanya~ 90210, seriously? Who in their right mind would ever have thunk? Mountain shots for Dawn? How about posting one for us? I love the mountains of CO. What a beautiful state you have.

Dawn~ I printed ours yesterday, then DS forgot to color it before we hit the Mall of America. We WILL be there plenty more in the back to school shopping weeks ahead.:thumbsup2 DO YOU LOVE YOUR CAR?

T- Your brother bought Evan a turtle? You will have that thing until he leaves the house. Those things live FOREVER! Did he consult before hand?

Mel- I can see how you made the mistake with the drops. I hope they are help out now that you are using the right ones. About the panic attacks... I think it is time to see a doc. :thumbsup2 Does he have a Rx for Xanex? I have a lot of friends who are on Rx for Panic attacks. No pun attended...but it seems to be the "thing" to have wrong with you in the suburbs. :confused:

TE- Tighty whities...Good ol stand by! Happy belated to Daran!

Lori- I saw that outfit. It will be perfect for the 1st day of school pictures that we all take! That was a pretty smart sale on their behalf. I found that they didn't have too much in regular prices yet though. :confused3 Have you been in their newer upscale store Janie and Jack?

www.janieandjack.com

They have cute stuff, but the MOA store is full of baby clothes... it's hard to find big girl things.:confused3

Kat - The party sounds fun! Can't wait to see pics. I was at Walmart yesterday and saw they had copies of the books there. I was going to see about picking up the series but couldn't find anymore of them. I might have to run up to Books-A-Million this week to see if they have them.

Jo - Have fun!

LL- Sounds like you are one busy mama. Hope Michael's appt goes well on Tuesday and you get good news!

Dawn - Too funny about your MIL. Hmmmmmm...maybe I can try that one day while the kids are in school. Actually, I don't think it would work. LOL DR's pre-school is 1/2 day and he's in the afternoons. Although I can walk there to pick him up and then walk to pick Linds up.

Mel - :hug: to both you and your son. Hopefully with you getting the right drops in that'll help with the pressure and will be good news!

Jen - LOVE Janie & Jack but way too expensive for me. Gymbo's expensive but with all the sales and coupons they have I can get things at pretty good prices. I'm on a few Gymboree message boards that also have some Buy-Sell-Trade places that are really good and you can get nice clothes for cheap.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So who was talking about the Tretons and wearing them with pegged jeans? I guess pegging is coming back into style. Here's Katie Holmes wearing her jeans that way...
katiestepfordjeansback1.jpg
All I can say is WHY????? :confused: I hated to wear my pants like that!!!
Hey, you guys, I can't velieve we are on #5:woohoo:
Let's see,
TE - those would be called tighty whities;)
Tretorns - I had a pair once, when I broke my big toe, they were cheap enough that Mom didn't feel bad about cutting a hole in them so I could wear shoes. Yeah, not a fan of them, sorry guys.
Ed - yeah on ip dip!
Lessa - about 10 years ago I was living in a townhouse and one Sunday morning I went out through the garage to get the newspaper on the driveway. Well as I am walking through the garage I see this black blob where the wall meets the ceiling, I poked it with the end of a broom and a wing spread out:scared1: I ran into the house and slammed the door. First tried my nieghbor who was a cop, not home. Then called the woman across the street that I was friends with. She refused to come over, can't say I blame her. I ended up calling the police, (not 911, on the regular #). The dispatcher said he was sending Batman right over:rolleyes: . Anyhow cop came and took the critter away:worship:
LL - how's Michael feeling?
Daw, I owe you a PM
V - I spent the morning thinking of you... I am up early with the pugs each day , but today my back was killing me so after they did their business and ate breakfast I settled on the couch. While channel surfing I caught a show on Wealth TV (can you even believe there is such a channel:sad2: ) anyhow, that was just staring about the Louvre, it was the first part of 3, it was so good, I wanted to set the DVR to record the other 2, so while searching the programming guide it turned out part 2 was available via on demand. The whole point of this is both were very interesting from the historic and art standpoint and if you have Wealth TV look for it.:thumbsup2
Anyone see Gone Baby Gone, I DVR'ed from Statrz last night, I really should do some work that I bought home and haven't looked at yet though....
Jen - LOVE Janie & Jack but way too expensive for me. Gymbo's expensive but with all the sales and coupons they have I can get things at pretty good prices. I'm on a few Gymboree message boards that also have some Buy-Sell-Trade places that are really good and you can get nice clothes for cheap.
I didn't look at their prices. I was shocked that there was only baby stuff. Gymboree has message boards? :confused3
Ditto! BUT Katie CAN wear them that way! The rule is: You can only wear it one time. If it comes back in and you've already worn it, your out.
Katie, was far too young to have worn that trend. Tom, on the other hand...:)
We are off to the Uptown Art fair. Maybe I can find a great piece for my staircase. I have been searching for almost 6 years!:upsidedow
Tanya~ 90210, seriously? Who in their right mind would ever have thunk? Mountain shots for Dawn? How about posting one for us? I love the mountains of CO. What a beautiful state you have.
If you guys want and HSM doesn't mind I'd be glad to post em here too :)
I am so excited that all of you are willing to help. I'm just touched. :goodvibes
I have talked to DH about him taking stanley with him hiking the next 2 weeks (before the WDW trip) and he said no problemo :woohoo: I'll be taking other shots aroudn town for you too... and if ya like I'd be glad to bring him on the road trip to WDW too hehe... that would add like 8 more states to your list hehe... I'll even grab postcards for ya when we get gas ;) I don't mind... My aunt collects post cards so I am getting at least 1 usually anywayz hehe
NO WAY! EVERYONE who was ANYONE wore TRETORNS! THEY ROCKED!
Must have been a east coast thing. :confused3
Any Gymboree shoppers in Focker Land? They have a nice sale where you pay $10, $15 or $20 for all regular priced items. I found Tink a sweater dress and a pair of pink maryjanes. both $20 All clearance items are an additional 20 % off.. .which they have some PARIS inspired things... that TINK had to have. (thought of both CE and V whilst I picked them out).
I just discovered a Gymboree outlet near L.A. - I'm in heaven! :cloud9:
I`m going to IP DIP!!! Woo hooo!!!!
Woo HOO!!! :banana: Can;t wait to read about that!
There is a bat flying around in the hallway. Seriously freaking me out! The patrols have been called to come and catch the thing. It better not get in my office! :scared1:
Ewwwww!!!! :eek:
T - Look at Evan! What a cutie! And it's so much fun to remember isn't it? Glad to hear he had a GREAT birthday party!
Thanks! :goodvibes
The kids and I went and bought Lindsey's school supplies, back pack and lunch box for Kindy this afternoon. I can't believe my baby is starting Kindy!!!
*sniff, sniff* It's hard, isn't it? :hug:
And I got a letter in the mail on Friday for when DR will be starting preschool. He'll be starting on 8/27. :scared1: I am soooooooo not ready for this either!!! Where have my babies gone??? (And to think, in the last paragraph I was just thankful for how grown up they were getting :laughing: )
I got Evan's preschool letter yesterday, too. He starts on 9/4 - I'm super nervous about him! He's such a mama's boy, I'm sure there'll be tears. :guilty:
~~~~~~~~~~~
I went to the Breaking Dawn Concert Series opening night...it was an adventure. I'll do a mini TR (Monday maybe) I took a ton of pics. Then we went to a midnight release party. Morning Fockers!! :wave2: Wow did I have TONS to catch up on!!:surfweb: Things have been pretty hectic here so I haven't been around much, but getting very excited for our upcoming trip!:thumbsup2
Hey there stranger! :hug:
Fingers crossed - we have a drs. appt. on Tuesday for more x-rays...I guess to make sure that the bone the ortho surgeon bent in Michael's arm hasn't bent back:scared: . Maybe I'll get some kind of idea as to when he can get a smaller cast too...

Whew! That's good to hear, Mel. Hopefully your pressure will go down and no more needle poking! :magnify:
So, Fockers, I am TIRED. I'm heartsick over what is wrong with my baby. :guilty: I am calling the Dr. as soon as I can this morning even though it's Sunday. He's on call usually. Oh honey, I'm so sorry. You must be besides yourself. :hug: I don't know what else to say, except we're all here for you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the funeral's over, the birthday party is over, I've only got 3 days of work left and it's FULL BLOWN VACATION PLANNING TIME!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Oh and I've got to lose 4 more pounds! :rolleyes1
BUT. First things first. Today is a day of rest. :teeth:
Ok Janet that pic made me spit on my monitor!
I am too broke from vacatio shopping to pay for a new monitor...sorry:rolleyes1
Janet, did I read that you are already playing with Flat Stanley? I havent even liberated the poor boy from my computer yet!!
Only becasue we went to the historic district yesterday! ::yes::
I`m going to IP DIP!!! Woo hooo!!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: SO does this mean a trip reportpopcorn::
:scared1: There is a bat flying around in the hallway. Seriously freaking me out! The patrols have been called to come and catch the thing. It better not get in my office!
:scared1:
Thank god, they just caught it with a box. The supervisor and I were watching through the glass in the closed door as they were trying to get it. I was laughing and screaming at the same time. These things creep me out so much! It was rather comical though, three guys throwing a cardboard box and recycling boxes at it trying to trap it with two girls behind a door screaming like banshees.
Glad they got rid of it. I would have been screaming too. I won't even go into the bat exhibit at the zoo:scared: . (I was going to say bat room, but I figured people around here would have a field day with that one:laughing: )
Why am I up ?? My back and neck are hurting...and I am waiting for the Motrin to kick in.
Hope you are feeling better:hug:
You guys are kidding with all these darn pages right???????
And everyone blames me and Jo and Katt:rolleyes1
Thanks for the PM with the new link in Janet
:thumbsup2
FIngers, toes, eyes all crossed!:thumbsup2
The ones with the apple. The Fruit of Doom ones....
:rotfl2:
I was going to type you guys a long explanation here about something INCREDIBLY stupid that I did but I don't want to hog up a huge post. SO, in a nutshell, here it is. The Dr gave me a drop (for the pressure) when he did the needling. It's called Alphagan. It's in a turquoise bottle/purple cap. He also gave me a bottle of natural tears that are in a turquoise bottle/turquoise cap for the dryness and scratchiness that usually follows a needling.
I just discovered yesterday that for a week(!!!!!) I've been using the tears INSTEAD of the pressure drop! I'm so out of it (I blame stress, Bob's job things, and DS's panic attacks *more on this later*) that I didn't even notice that the bottle was WRONG! SO!!!! No wonder my pressure was UP!
I can't wait to tell the DR. I'm calling him at 9:01 am on Monday!!! But, maybe that is good news...maybe now that I'm actually PUTTING the darn drop in it will GO DOWN!
HOpe this is good news for you Mel:hug:
And yesterday we went to see Batman. In Imax. It cost 62$ for the four of us and snacks. Five minutes after we sat down, DS15 had a massive panic attack and I had to leave with him. I feel awful. I don't know what is going on with im. I don't know what to do. I can't calm him down. He was in full on panic mode from then (4pm) until I finally BEGGED him to go to sleep at 2 am!!!!!!!!!!
MEL:banana:
Poor thing.:hug: Is he starting a new school or anything this year?
I got Evan's preschool letter yesterday, too. He starts on 9/4 - I'm super nervous about him! He's such a mama's boy, I'm sure there'll be tears. :guilty:
Jimmy starts the 8th!
BUT. First things first. Today is a day of rest.
I wish:headache:
I didn't look at their prices. I was shocked that there was only baby stuff. Gymboree has message boards? :confused3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ditto! BUT Katie CAN wear them that way! The rule is: You can only wear it one time. If it comes back in and you've already worn it, your out.

Katie, was far too young to have worn that trend. Tom, on the other hand...:)

We are off to the Uptown Art fair. Maybe I can find a great piece for my staircase. I have been searching for almost 6 years!:upsidedow

Yep...it's sad that there are Gymboree message boards and that I am a part of them. LOL My favorite is Gymbofriends . com

:lmao: As for Katie Holmes...her and I are the same age and I remember wearing my pants like that in the 6th grade. Of course who knows if she actually wore them like that then, but I know she's been through that fashion era. LOL

And do you know what I saw on The Children's Place page the other day while shopping for jeans for Lindsey? Stirrup pants!!!!:eek:

Have fun at the Art Fair and hope you find a piece of artwork!

I just discovered a Gymboree outlet near L.A. - I'm in heaven! :cloud9:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the funeral's over, the birthday party is over, I've only got 3 days of work left and it's FULL BLOWN VACATION PLANNING TIME!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Oh and I've got to lose 4 more pounds! :rolleyes1
BUT. First things first. Today is a day of rest. :teeth:
YAY on the Gymbo outlet! I wish I had one near me but it's over an hour and half away. When we lived in TX the outlet mall was 20 minutes from me.
DR's a mama's boy as well and I'm so nervous on how it will go. I think he'll do OK though.
And last but not least :hug:
Enjoy your day of rest! And wait...are you just taking the time off work or actually quitting? No more Barbieville stories????
Did someone say stirrup pants???
Now THAT I remember well! I wrote that in my senior yearbook!! Stirrup pants and long sweaters! :thumbsup2
well, back from the brunch--it was fine. Finishing off a cheesecake now that Ab made for Daran's b-day! :goodvibes
Two tone (choc and reg) cheesecake with chocolate glaze. She did a great job from scratch.:thumbsup2
what's everyone doing?
Just got back from the bookstore! Had to pick up a mag for Dh and a book for DS15 and BREAKING DAWN for me.
The next 24 hours will be HECK. I am not going to start until Bob leaves for his trip tomorrow because I don't want to ignore my family and I KNOW I will. This should be a great test of my will power....:thumbsup2
DS15 has been fine today. He's still feeling a bit wobbly he says but he's not in panic mode at least. I told him I'll make an appt with his ped. tomorrow. He loves his ped. dr. He's a younger guy who is pretty cool (I think they identify-he's really tall like my ds) so I know he'll feel comfortable talking to him. He seemed cool with that idea, so I'll see when I can get him in tomorrow.
I am making weiners on the grill. Also corn on the cob from the farmer's mkt. and some roasted potatoes! Yummy! DH is going to call his mom and dad (can't wait to hear WHEN they're coming....ha! Like they're going to tell me!!!) and the boys are watching Spongebob. I love Sunday!
