Jo, did you sleep odd? Maybe you need a massage? Where's David when you need him????
He's on the other sofa :rotfl2: No I think I pulled my shoulder somehow playing golf on Monday and as I have hayfever I've been sneezing so trying to protect my shoulder when I sneeze and I think I managed to pull my back IYKWIM :rotfl2:

Me too...I had to laugh...Disney on a Dime...

Hello? If you're going cheap, don't tell people to buy ride photos, etc...

And who was it that paid nearly $2k for 4 days? And renting boats, surrey bikes, etc.? That's doing Disney on a Dime? I have that book and I don't recall that being in there...

Although, I'm really looking forward to this Friday's Disney Splurge episode...

.

Yeah.. it looked more like Disney on a "Disney Budget" from where I come from. $2000.00 for 4 days... :scared1: I can see how that could happen.. tickets airplane food staying at a Moderate full price,, or for not much more stay the week.. Disney has that angle... the tickets get cheaper once you get past 4 days

Wait, my favorite part was listening to the people going to Disney on budget with their $600 Bugaboo stroller. Give me a break!
Ditto...

Hi Anna, I'll try and remember :goodvibes

Hi Brandy, I see you're pregnant, how's it going?
They are with me.. and remember.. I pack heat so everybody play nice nice
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Awww Katt I was first on the list so I must be your favourite ;) :rotfl2:
Of course you are... you make chocolate thingy's..
And you are USUALLY the 1st to visit my trip report.. Untill this time:eek:

Morning Jo!

it's not raining here (Miracle of miracles) but it's COLD. We had a freeze advisory last night. It was 31 degrees. Yikes!

Today I am doing NOThING. Not ONE DARN thing. I deserve it! :rotfl:

Jo, did you sleep odd? Maybe you need a massage? Where's David when you need him???

MEL:banana:

It's cold this morning here too. Frost.. I think TE had a freeze warning, but it will pop back into the 60's today.
Maybe David is why Jo has a back ache today :rolleyes1 :lmao:

He's on the other sofa :rotfl2: No I think I pulled my shoulder somehow playing golf on Monday and as I have hayfever I've been sneezing so trying to protect my shoulder when I sneeze and I think I managed to pull my back IYKWIM :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! I met some Focker Watch people about a year ago at a meet at MK. Names are escaping me right now. I ran into LaraK at Biergarten and she invited me and we all rode Jungle Cruise. Hard to believe that was a year ago!
Hi! I was not at that meet. I think zdad was one of the guys there, but haven't seen him around in a long time. Jen (*Mickeyfan*) had posted pics a long time ago, but I believe that thread is gone now. Glad to have you back.

last night, I dragged DH and BA to 2 furniture stores.......at the second one, I found a set I liked......another 45 min later, I decided the color needed to change........then we had to pick out new leather colors.......then we had to fill out the credit app............at 9:30, we finally got to leave.................................................................................................................................................and then this morning, I called them back and changed it all to the original color on the showroom floor! (He's gonna kill me!):lmao:

But you've got to get it right! It has to be perfect after spending all that money. What did you end up getting? We looked at leather, but the set I wanted was $7500. So I decided I would get something more expensive when my kids are a little older. When I ordered my Broyhill, the guy said, "You know this will last you about 7 years?" I said, "Hopefully 5 with my kids. I'm replacing Bernhardt that I expected to last much longer." After telling him the ages of my kids he said, "You're a smart lady. I wouldn't spend anymore than this, either."

What happened to WDW Poly Princess? Wasn't she our founding member?

Every time we stay in a hotel, I check the mattress out for bed bugs. Last year there were several stories on the news about people bringing them home. It can happen with any hotel - even fancy ones.

We were in Orlando earlier in the month, during Spring Break and we stayed at Westlake Gates. This was a freebie we got from a Kohl's/Dockers promotion, but we did add 1 night. We were there for 3 nights. When we got to our room, I did my mattress check and there was some little dots in the mattress corner. I couldn't decide if it was dirt or dead bugs and then I started to panic because I always check for bedbugs, but I don't know what I am looking for. I've always found a spotless mattress in the past. The kids had a pullout sofa and that mattress looked brand new. Half of the room was tiled - kitchenette, vanity sink and bathroom. I wouldn't let anyone put anything on the carpet or bed- suitcase, whatever. I asked dh about checking out, but he told me I was crazy and he didn't want the hassle.

When we got home, I washed everything in hot water. But I was sick the day after (for 3 days) and I slept in the same clothes I slept in on vacation. On the third day, I washed my sheets and pjs. Then I looked up bed bugs on the internet. Our mattress looked nothing like the examples shown, but it said that bed bug bites are like mosquito bites. One morning, when we woke up, dh said, "We must have had a mosquito in our room." DD, DH, and I all had a mosquito bite. DD slept in our bed. So I have been worried that we had bed bugs and that it really wasn't a mosquito. I keep checking my sheets and I have found a few black specs, but I can't tell if they are bugs or lint. I sleep in dark grey/black sweat pants. But the paranoid side of me thinks it is bugs and I even put about 6 specs in a ziploc bag in case I need to call an exterminator. And I feel like I am itching when I get in my bed. DH keeps telling me it is psychological.

I have been afraid to mention any of this to anyone because people will either think I am dirty or think I am crazy. Right? I reluctantly told my mil yesterday, because she also is paranoid about bed bugs when she goes out of town. She even told me that she doesn't want to put her suitcase on our bed when she visits because we get so many visitors who travel out of the country a lot.

I'm so glad I told her because she said the test is to take packaging tape, put it on the floor on all sides of your bed, sticky side up and put it on your headboard. If you have bed bugs, they get caught on the tape.

Last night I did that, plus I put tape on the bedrails - all sides of the bed, the footboard, the headboard. Basically, our bed looks like it is ready to be shipped somewhere, only someone forgot to include the box or wrap.

I am happy to report there was only 1 bug on all of my tape and it was a huge plastic spider. Dh thinks he is so funny. I called him this morning and told him we need to get an exterminator because I found a really huge spider.

Going back to Orlando on Saturday - taking the packaging tape with me.

Maybe I can sleep itch free tonight.

Your MIL was afraind of YOUR BED ??:scared1: That sounds... well ...kind of hurtfull :guilty: If my MIL was alive and she did something like that I would be hurt.

I did not used to be paranoid bout hotels but I am now after all the stories of bugs( all KINDS :scared1: ) and Uh... not so clean beds and comforters..seeing the "leftovers" of a couple having some"intense fellowship"
ykwim;) ( a sneeze Jo):rotfl: Sorry... LOVE YOU JO... Left "Karma" for ya"

Anyway... got me to wondering about how well DISNEY cleans. That is about the only hotels we stay at.

You forgot me I contributed to the "LIST" which was a NO No!!
Oh Rosie, I'm sorry! I should never post whilst tired.
No I think I pulled my shoulder somehow playing golf on Monday and as I have hayfever I've been sneezing so trying to protect my shoulder when I sneeze and I think I managed to pull my back
Been there, done that.

Whoops! My memory clearly sucks! :rotfl:

What happened to WDW Poly Princess? Wasn't she our founding member?
No, but she was around in the beginning. It was actually LisaDKG who first asked the question "What do you do when you see another DISer in the parks?" But was it WDWPolyPrincess who first suggested The Look? I'll have to try finding the original thread later and link it here...

:welcome: newbies!

Kat's right. We are a nice bunch. Glad to meet you!

To Dah Yuper: Why on earth would anyone chose to move to the UP? And, where is "home?"

We're in SE MI now....

MEL:banana:

Hi Mel!

Home is Gaylord. We go there just about every weekend, though with the cost of gas, I'm thinkin' about getting a horse. :thumbsup2

We did not CHOOSE to move to the stupid UP. When my husband lost his job in Gaylord, the choices were to accept a job offer in Northern CA (Arcata area) or move up here. Given that a three bedroom, run down, "vintage" 1960s mobile home cost about $160,000 (as much as our 2600 sq foot brand new three bedroom stick built home in Gaylord on 10 acres), we chose up here. And it stinks. Really bad.

There. That's my story.

Now, getting back to the cost of gas, anybody know anything about horses? How many carseats can I hook up on a horse?!?!?

I think it's 2 but with a pony side-car you can add one more.

:rotfl2:

*sorry you have to live in the UP. If it's any consolation to you, Oakland County isn't exactly the place to be either....*

MEL

They just replayed SAm's favorites on Sunday LL. If I see it on again I will throw a tape in and mail to you:thumbsup2

:headache: Arggggh! I wish I'd have known! I'd have called my Nana to watch it! I looked on the website and couldn't find any dates other than the original airing. Thanks Janet!

Good morning all !! Jo are you still 'sneezing"!!I:rotfl2: miss our original thread with our LIST!!afor the newbies Jo should oost a pix of her caravan so they can see for themselves!! :lmao:
Yes Jen was our original Lanyard Lady! Now I am ! If anyone is interested PM me!!

I'm all itchy just reading that. Good idea about the tape though...

If your horse is sturdy... he can handle up to 5 but they really protest.Hers is how

Two ON the horse... 2 riding "sidebeast".. and one Bringing up the rear...( gotta have a really understanding kid for that one.;) :lmao:
Of course you can always for you and DH on the Horse... and the kiddo's in a cart BEHIND the horse with all the luggage.

Ewwwww...just read about bedbugs. Yuck. But I'm not going to look. Better to not know then to know and be afraid to sleep. But still, eww. Lets just say that I'm going to believe Disney has the best mousekeeping anywhere.

Oh, Jo. Pregnancy's going well. I'm tired. So tired that I fell asleep the other day while reading to our three year old and didn't realize I was asleep until our 12 month old plopped down on my head with a pleasant surprise in the drawers. *groan* What WERE we thinking?!?

Off to real life now. I'm loving this focker thread. I'm gonna practice my focker greeting!

Hello Rosie.. Been meaning to call and check on you.

How are all things "Computery" Have not seen anymore pic's. :surfweb:
YOu know how to reach me if you need to.

Your MIL was afraind of YOUR BED ??:scared1: That sounds... well ...kind of hurtfull :guilty: If my MIL was alive and she did something like that I would be hurt.
No, I just thought - boy she is even more paranoid than I am. I have 2 sisters who visit me and they both travel no less than 4 trips out of the country a year. And sometimes they get off their international flights here, stay at my house for a night, then drive home. My parents also travel a lot - although they stay in the US.

It was actually LisaDKG who first asked the question "What do you do when you see another DISer in the parks?" But was it WDWPolyPrincess who first suggested The Look? I'll have to try finding the original thread later and link it here...

:lmao: That's classic! I do the check, too.
That's right. Where is LisaDKG!?!*?! (punctuation just for you V!) I can't remember who came up with the look. And what happened to our lime list? It just wasn't as funny as the original.

So does that mean you are also going to start traveling with packaging tape?

Yes, but you'll spend just as much money feeding that horse the way all the prices are rising. Of course, I hear riding a horse can be exciting.
