It rained last nite too........and is still raining......our 1/4 mile long driveway has no gravels now and a giant ditch down the center. :sad2: Glad I got 4WD!

Poor Daran is out trying to scrape it now,....and it's his birthday. He loves his tractor tho so maybe he's enjoying it!

....and our cow are still stick....we have 6...but 2 have pneumonia so each day we have to give them shots of penicillin (I give the shot...) They are still coughing. I should get a video of me running with a big stick and chasing these cows into the pen! Hope they get better. I've named one Minnie----

Poor Daren - Tellhim Happy Birthday:dance3:

Oh, we need video of this! ::yes::

A quickie hello. We have a friend visiting today and he's staying for dinner, which , of course, I am making. Nachos are on the menu, so its easy just a lot of prep work.

I didn't have to go in for my shift so that was awesome.

Anyways have a good Sunday!

Janet is the dental floss killer! :rolleyes:

Hi guys!!! Hope everyone's weekend went well. I ended up working yesterday and got called in today for a few hours, but that's ok because it was OT for me! :D

Not much going on with me, just catching up real quick then probably finish my movie.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Janet I won't be able to go in August :sad:
My friend I was going with can't (we were going to possibly stay at her boyfriend's dad's house there for free too) and my other friend (Yani) is going to NY so can't split the cost with her and my mom would have a hissy fit if I went alone, plus not a lot of money right now. :::sigh:::
Kat I got some of the trivia questions right. I'm with Debra by when do you need to know about the friends and family thing? Like I said I might be going to Universal w/ my cousin, but I won't know anything until Oct.
Lessa: Welcome Back! Happy belated birthday!
TE: Happy Birthday for Daran and good to see you around.
So what do I win?;)
U may have answered the one question I didn't get...the HSM question....is it really "Juliet & Romeo" ?? I need an exact answer for it. Thanks!
TIRED. Off to read and go to bed. Back to slaving for the mouse tomorrow- gotta pay for that vacation!
Hello Everbody!
Weekend in review.
DEBRA’s DH wants to stay at BLT in Oct. 2010! She needs help with point rental explanations.
How awesome is that!!! Sorry I can’t help with the DVC rental.
CE wants to sub for the teachers at school. She has a lot of transcripting and resumeing to do. Her eye still looks terrible, post #2611.
Good Luck with the subbing application. Sometimes I think applying for a job is more work than you actually do on the job when you get it. Dang, that eye looks bad. I bet you felt like kicking that darn hook clean out of the wall.:hug:
JO has been getting her bedroom walls stripped of paper. She is sick of it after only 1 wall. She is doing a pirate and pals cruise in Dec. David was a good DH and caddied for her this weekend. They are visiting with her dad this week.
DIY is only fun when it is done. Have fun at your dad's.
LORI had a break and did some laundry. She took the kids to a Firemans Festival. Then they went to her aunt’s Margaritaville party.
Sounds like you had a great weekend!
JANET was glad to see the weekend. Her job is driving her nuts. She says Jim has the same foot problem as Mo. Janet’s FYI of the day - Daytime TV sux! They had a sleepover. She posted an old commercial for WDW, post #2652. They are also celebrating the MIL’s B-day for dinner.
You had a busy weekend. I’m glad you survived the sleep-over!
ROSIE is putting in a lot of hours between the 2 jobs. She got her hair trimmed.
I really do hate getting my hair cut. They never seem to get it quite right. I went this week too. See below.
Z partied Fri night and then woke up early, ready to go to work. She wasn’t supposed to work.
If you only knew how many times I’ve done that.:laughing:
KAT was cleaning like a mad woman. She was trying to figure out where to eat so she can make her ADRs. She is inviting anyone who wants to visit before Dec. to share the 40% discount she gets for being a CM. She finally had Sunday off.
I’m glad you got to rest. It is so nice of you to offer the discount to the Fockers!
ANGELA has a soft spot for Fruity Pebbles.
So they turned into soggy pebble squares?
TE showed up. She is trying to help Ab survive a break-up with her bf. They have some sick moo-moos too.
We have missed you. It sounds like you have been dealing with a lot. BTW, T, V, LL, The Disney family all headed to WDW. Hedy went to US.
LESSA is back from Ohio. She will post pics soon. She said that the weather stunk a few times. She had lots of smurfy goodness.
Glad your back! I hope your tummy gets better. We did miss you, silly!
My weekend.
I got my hair cut on Friday. I took in a picture of the style I liked. This is what I got.
Arnis001.jpg
I decided I wanted bangs again. I used a curling iron on it. Today I just blew it out. It looks closer to what I wanted now.
Here is a picture of the new bag I ordered for the parks.
Sherpani Pica Sport - Red
It went on sale at Ebags for $25 + change. I'll take more pics when it gets here this Friday.
Some pictures from my dinner with Rockie and the gang.
We were able to meet up for supper at a local pizza joint know as Arni's. The home town slogan is, "Meet you at Arni's!" It's been around since........forever. It ain't no NYC or Chicago style but it's dang good. I handed the camera to the girls at one point.
We had an awesome time. Chatted up a storm. Rockie and I are getting so excited about the trip! The 45 day mark is in another week and 4 days.:woohoo:
Her mom went to the hospital Friday night. They ran a lot of tests and did a CT scan. She has acute bronchitis. I went to visit her today. She is doing much better now that they have her on antibiaotics. She was very chatty and coherent. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Well my fellow Fockers I need to get some things done before I head back up to the TV.
I hope everyone starts this week on a good note!
Hi Fockers!
Janet - Glad you had a fun sleepover (almost called it a sumber party :rotfl: ). Sorry they were up so late though.
TE - Hope the cows start feeling better. And I agree with Janet, we need to see a vidoe of the coughing cows.
Kristal - I like the haircut! :thumbsup2
:wave: Hi everyone else! Sorry I missed the quotes.
**************************************
My aunt's Margaritaville party was last night and we had a blast. We were ther until about 2AM. Linds stayed awake pretty much the entire time. :eek: Along with her 3 year old cousin. :scared1: :sad2: :rotfl: DR passed out around midnight. But we all had tons of fun.
Back to school for me and daycare for the kids tomorrow.
Hope y'all have a good Monday!
Morning Focekrs!
:ssst: I'm sitting here in Keyboarding class and am sick of typing so I decided to surf the Dis. I'm hoping to finish all the work I need to for this class this week so I don't have to come next week except for my midterm and then the following for my final.
I had such mommy guilt this morning. DR woke up in a bad mood and didn't want to go to daycare at all. When I dropped him off this moring he was a crying mess. Poor Lindsey was trying to help me get him off me to play but nothing was working. Finally the techer had to pry him off of me. I felt so bad. :sad1: I know he'll be fine once the day goes on, but I'm not sure. He kept saying he doesn't like being there because it's too loud. UGH...I hate mommy guilt. :sad2:
I guess that's about it for me. I have a few more minutes before class is up so I'm going to read some more and then home to do laundry and clean up.
Have a good Monday!
Morning, all... :goodvibes
Today starts B's dance team camp week. It'll be a hard, long week for her. But it will be exciting too to get her team gear and learn the competition songs for the year.
I can't wait to see them on Friday! :banana:
Tonight, all the mommas are meeting at the Mexican food place around the corner to have fun while the girls dance.
So, a fairly quiet day here... What's everyone else up to?
Janet is the dental floss killer!
LY too Z :rolleyes: :hug:
Hi Dawn. Hope B has lots of fun this week. Have fun at your dinner!
============================
So, 6 days before freaking vacation and I am sick:eek: Wasn't feeling 100 percent yesterday. Took a tylenol sinus and felt a bit better. Around 8:00 last night Jim says to me "what's wrong with your eyes?" I go look in the mirror and they were so red, but didn't hurt:confused: This morning..eyes still bloodshot, sore throat, stuffy nose and stiff neck! Ack! I can't be sick now. I'm going to Disney WOrld. Was able to get a 3:15 appointment with the doctor so I am leaving early for that. Jim is thinking allergies. I have never had allergies before:confused3 Pixie dust please fellow fockers!:goodvibes
Hi, Fockers!
Kristel - LOVE the haircut!
Janet - Feel better. :hug:
Lori - sounds like fun!
TE - sorry about Ab, but it sounds like nice girl time... :hug:
*******************************************************
I've been reading along, but not posting. I'm sorry.
Saturday, we went up to the boat, the temporary fix looked great, and it was a gorgeous day! :goodvibes
Then, we were hating it, but coming in early to get to the playgroup party and the boat died. in the water. Yep. Died. :mad: Had to call for a tow, didn't get off the lake until the time the party was to have started, ate dinner at something like 9:00... :sad2:
Luckily, though boat engine problems can be a BIG deal, this seems fairly minor and it's already fixed, as of today. Of course, D left yesterday, in a HORRIBLE mood, assuming we'd be out half again the price of the boat, etc. We actually didn't get word on how much it will be, but it won't be a new engine, so... ;)
The boys had the birthday party yesterday, then we took the van in to get the brakes checked before we drive to Illinois in a couple of weeks - D thought there was something wrong.
They called this morning, and there are basically no back brakes left. :scared1: It's over $500 to fix, and since we spent something like $800 on it in May or whenever, we are starting to question whether it's worth it to keep shoveling money into it.
I was really hoping for the "Cash for Clunkers" deal - the van is on the edge, but it would qualify, and probably get me about $500 more than the straight trade-in value, but with all that's going on there, I have no idea if it's running after today. And, we probably are better off with a used car, which you can't do the clunker thing for.
So, I am trying desperately to research to see what we can really afford, what the APR would be for a used loan, what the van could be traded in for, etc., etc. and also not sure what I even want. And it may make more sense to keep the van for another year, but we also are afraid that it's going to need tires soon, and that's another big expense to throw into it.
I don't know.
So, I'm sorry I've been absent, but it's been another crazy few days. The boys started their week of 9-12 camp today, and I had a haircut (just a trim.) I'm still waiting to hear back from the one reference from El Paso who was on vacation until today before I can turn in the sub form.
I'm feeling very stressed... :headache:
Hope you had a good weekend, and are having a happier Monday than I am. :grouphug:
Janet - Feel better. :hug:
Thanks CE. The weird thing is I don't feel horrible...just yucky, KWIM? I just want it to develop into something worse
I love my town and cuontry, if you are looking at a van again!
I have the Dodge equivalent (though it's old) but I really, really don't want a van. I'm looking at the "crossovers" more - the RAV4, the CR-V, Mazda 7...
I guess as long as I don't start answering myself I'm okay:eek:
:rotfl:
Good luck at the doctor. I'm glad you don't feel horrible...
Hi to everyone !! No I am not Lessa ,but I too have a RASH!!!!:rotfl2:No I did not use Copertone !!:rotfl2:But I did use IrishSpring bath gel for the first time soooo I am thinking that is what it is !!!!:confused3
Oh Janet! Carp, carp, carp! I hope it is just an allergy. They can treat that quickly. If it is a cold - pump the Zinc, Zicam or whatever! If you hit it hard right now you should be OK by the time you leave.
Dang! When it rains it poors! Sorry about all the maintenance problems. If you think the van's motor and trans can hold for another year, I'd wait. Tires and brakes are routine maintenance for every vehicle. If you decide to go with a used car, you may have the same issues.
Not much happening here. I have to get ready for work tonight. I am off Tue and Wed. I will probably work OT on Thur. Then my shift is the whole weekend. YAY!
Have a good night!
So...
D called the mechanics (they are independent and local, and we love them...) and basically just asked what they'd do if they were us. Paul (the guy) was honest and said that he can't guarantee anything, of course, but he doesn't see anything else on the van as a "red flag" right now, and if we do the brakes - which are a fairly normal repair after the 100K mark - we can probably get to next spring, when we'll have a fresh round of tax rebates, etc. to put down to a new car.
So, we've decided to try to get it to then, at least.
I spent a lot of the afternoon researching what used cars are around, what dealer incentives are happening, what I want, etc. - which is now moot. :rolleyes: Oh well. It wasn't like I was probably going to do anything more productive, anyway. :lmao:
My problem is that I'm so set against another van, but I want the possibility of the third row, even if it's tiny, just for when we have company, so that we wouldn't have to take two cars out to dinner, etc. That leaves me with very few options unless I go bigger in an SUV than I want - I really like the smaller SUV/crossover types.
But truly, the only people who routinely FLY in, as opposed to DRIVE in, are my MIL and stepFIL, and they don't come when D's not here, so we'd have his car here too. My parents usually drive, and so does D's dad and stepmom, so they'd have a car here if for some reason they came when D's got his car parked at the airport.
But then there's the dog - we usually have him ride in the third row. He often goes on our long trips with us, and always to the boat. But really, do I want to buy a bigger vehicle just for my dog? :rotfl: (And, he's old - after another year or three, we'll not have that issue...:guilty:)
I guess that this decision gives us time to think and talk this all out, really get what we want, not just what's around this week, etc. But I will be extremely bitter if something happens in the next few months to the dang van. :rotfl2:
Yeah, there's that. Part of my thing is that we have always NOT driven a car into the ground - we'd trade it when we still had some value on it, so that you didn't have to borrow as much or come up with as much cash for a down payment. I'm getting nervous that we're passing the point with this van.
And I know that this is all necessary and "not that unusual" for a car with over 100K miles, but it seems like we're spending quite a bit quite often now, instead of every once in a while, if you KWIM. ;)
Kristel- Love the haircut, very cute!
Janet- Hope you get some good meds and feel better!
CE- good luck figuring out what to do!
I am having "one of those days". I felt really funky last night , i think i over ate. I woke up not feeling so great still so i decided to call out of work. I took some pepto and went back to sleep- until 1pm!!! It didn't seem to help tho. I still feel poopy.
I just feel run down. I'm hoping its not stress and anxiety getting to me. I feel really stressed out the night before these call in shifts for work because I don't have any definite plans for the next day. I like to have plans and i think this is messing with my head. I can't seem to get a handle on it. Unfortunately I have another call in tomorrow so that won't help i think.
At least i ate breakfast and felt ok in the tummy department. I ahve the headache of champions tho. I can't win.
I did win 2 auctions for some of the bags I was eyeing the other day.
This one-
it's the restyled Hipster in Bali Blue.
And this one-
it's the Lisa B in Purple Punch.
I got them both for half the price they normally go for, so I'm psyched!
Anyways I'm off to catch up on my threads and do a few updates on my TR...BTW I updated with ADRs!
