TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

NEED TICKER HELP! I know that Lovetoscrap posted this already, but I couldn't find where an answer was posted. I went to update my ticker, and it keeps saying "create ticker" which then takes me back to the very first step of choosing a background. What am I doing wrong?!

I didn't get it figured out either and didn't get an answer. I just created a new ticker and used my starting and current weight. Haven't tried to change it again.

Long night on Saturday, cause I ended up in the hospital ER. Long story short, got home at 3 am. Had lots of pain, but thanks to my new friend morphin, it ended after 3 hours. Nothing serious but when you go to ER its serious enough.
Hope everything is ok, and you're feeling better. :hug:

Chili freezes well?? I was unsure about the red kidney beans that are called for in the recipe I use - do they get Mushy?
I freeze my chili all the time, and the beans seem just fine, but I do like them kind soft.

Uh, they're crazy!!!! and they leave their brains in Mass when they hit the state line.

I can say that though cause my dad is from Newton and Walpole. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:wave: Hope everyone is having a great day, whether you are snowed in, about to be snowed in or wish you could be snowed in.
I love this, and with so many of us on the east coast, it hits a lot of us. Meant to say yesterday that I loved that little chocolate cake. So cute.

II did 2 miles yesterday and a mile today fast walk. I tried to jog but I am SAD.. very SAD at this so far. Huffing and puffing the whole way!
Of course I didn't gain this weight overnight so it will take time and I refuse to give up! I want one of those medals in a bad way & just to prove that I CAN do it.
One day at a time or as Dory would say Just keep swimming!
You can so do this!! I was amazed at how quickly I built up some endurance when i started run/walking. I would huff and puff and feel like i was going to die, but someone told me if I felt that way, i was going too fast, and told me to just slow down, and that did seem to help prevent that impending death feeling. :rotfl: Hang in there, be patient, it will get better, and you will be sporting one of those medals!!

Just finished 20 minutes with Jillian's 30 Day Shred. I had so much more endurance I made it through the first set of jumping jacks without out much effort and it was noticeably easier. OH OH OH and I did 3 whole knee push ups. :banana: :woohoo: I can say I feel fitter today than i was on the 1st for sure.
Whoo hoo!!!! Amazing what a week will do!!!
Yeah, I seem to recall you told me that there was no way that would happen! :rolleyes1 Something about it being really cold somewhere?
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I don't want to sound whiny, but I've been a little stressed about all that has fallen on my shoulders lately. I know you will all understand and not judge me for getting a bit whiny about it. But I think a day to do what I want is definitely in order.
glad you took a day to yourself. With all that you have been through, you have always sounded so strong here, and never seemed whiney, and believe me, if you wanted to whine, we would totally understand, and be here to listen. Hope you had a great day.

Good evening!! I figured i'd pop in and say hello before bed. I'm heading to work early tomorrow, so I hope to get out early and get in my long run/walk. I did just polish off 10 hershey's hugs that were leftover from Christmas, and they are gone now, so that's good. I wrote them down, and am still within my points.

Be careful if you're going out in the snow this week. Looks like a doozy of a storm, not that I totally believe it will hit us til it's here. We're near the coast, so a little drift to the west and we could be spared that 12-18 inches. My fingers are crossed.

Have a pleasant, losing tuesday!!

Good morning Donalds!:donald: Hope you are ready for a great day today!
Keep carrying on with those small changes and pretty soon you will see big results:goodvibes Tuesday is normally my running day but after Sunday's trouble with the icy paths, I'm not going back out there for awhile. I'm going to do my 3 mile walk tape this morning and then continue putting away the Christmas decorations. I took them all down yesterday and now I need to wrap, organize and put back into tubs. I have almost 400:scared1:
I need to read my book for book club next Tuesday, I have read about 1/4 of it so far.

Shawn: it might be that you are eating too little. This is a common mistake I see on the WW board. People either eat their bare minimum points, or try to even eat under. IF you don't give it enough fuel, your body will hang onto every little pound it can. It seems counterintuitive, but many women find out that when they start eating a little bit more, they start to lose again.

Are you writing down everything you are eating? That can help too.

Thanks Jessi - I have heard of this too. I am writing everything down this week for HH. Since I have just spent the past 3 weeks eating LOTS of calories daily, it seems I would get some kind of result with a day or two of light eating. After 2 days of light eating, I am down 1 pound today. Guess that's all I can get out of that. I think you have to do this for several days for it to backfire on you. I can't do it but a day or two at most.

Oh Man...my DD6 is sick. She had a fever this weekend and now has pink eye in both eyes.:scared1: She has a good humor about it though...as much as you can. She fell asleep today and when she woke up she couldn't open either eye.

DH is traveling right now for work and I'm holding the fort down here. Right now I am SOOOOO missing the gym. I wasn't able to go yesterday or today. Tomorrow is out as well since DD6 will be home from school again and DH is still out of town. I guess I'm going to have to work out at home some how???...maybe with the Wii.....I am so missing my bodypump class and the machine that I like at the gym. It's a good thing that I was able to work out so much last week :thumbsup2

I've been tracking my food so far this week and drinking a lot of water too. I think the only area I'll fall down on this week is with my exercise. I'll be back on track as soon as DD6 is well.....Now I just have to hope that DD9 stays healthy. I will at least get my 20 minutes but I like it better when I can get an hour in each day.

I really what DD to get better.....got to go help her get ready for bed.:flower3:

Have a good night everyone :)

Hope DD is feeling better today and it does not pass on to your other daughter:goodvibes

I went to our WW meeting tonight (with the snow I'm somewhat surprised we still had it) and I'm down a lb! I figured this week would be a gain because I was not very healthy. I love pleasant surprises. :yay:

:banana:

One meal at a time...One meal at a time...

scored 2 goals. Not too shabby for playing defense.
:cool1: good job

Wow, glad you are feeling better now:goodvibes

Last year I started the new year by vowing to cut my pop intake drastically and I now only have a can once in awhile.Today was a good day. I ate well and drank lots of water. I have been using my refillable cup from Sea World which holds a ton of water and makes it easier to have handy. I also got out my copy of "Carmen Electra's Areobic Striptease" DVD today. My friends and I bought it a few years ago as a joke and I actually enjoy the workout. It is a great dancers workout.

:thumbsup2

Congrats Jessi!!!

Rough day here. But I had a small victory. I am so tired (DD didn't sleep well so neither did I). I had a stressful day and I'm gearing up for all this snow we are supposed to get. Anyway, I really really wanted to take the kids to McDonalds and Wendys for dinner. I did not want to cook! But we started this challenge to not eat out for a whole month. Here we are day 10 and it was so hard not to go, but I had this little WISH angel sitting on my shoulder whispering that if I did take the kids and eat that garbage I would be soooo mad at myself and regret the decision immensely! And I knew that I would have to write it in my "bite and write" journal (which is coming along nicely BTW, I'll post a pic this week) and I would have to confess my sins here. I didn't want to let down my team!!!! I literally hemmed and hawed until I got to my driveway but in the end I turned in instead of going straight. The kids weren't thrilled with me, they ate breakfast for dinner but we came home.

I did kind of pig out on pickles but I'd rather eat 2 spears then 2 orders of wings at wendy's.

I'm turing in early tonight, hopefully I can make up for some lost sleep and I will feel more alive in the morning. And I can hopefully have enough energy to workout. I didn't do that today.

:banana::banana:

I didn't do fantastic over the weekend. I did do better and we did go out for a walk yesterday even thougth it was pretty dang cold. I went back to snacking my way through the evening. :guilty:

Today is a new day:goodvibes While you are checking into which app you want to use for tracking, you could use just use paper until you've figured it out. WTG on walking in the cold!!!:cool1:

I would huff and puff and feel like i was going to die, but someone told me if I felt that way, i was going too fast, and told me to just slow down, and that did seem to help prevent that impending death feeling. :rotfl: Hang in there, be patient, it will get better, and you will be sporting one of those medals!!

Have a pleasant, losing tuesday!!

I'm still at the huffing and puffing stage. :rotfl2: I love how different exercises make me feel different - running is the hardest for me, I am exhausted and sore afterwards.....elliptical not as hard but makes me sweat the most and feel shaky right afterwards but not tired or sore.....after yoga I feel very relaxed and more flexible and sore the next day sometimes.

The 10 hugs sound delicious:santa: That's great that you had the points for them. Good luck with the snow - stay warm and safe:goodvibes

Hope you all have a great day. If you have fallen off the wagon or have a slip-up today, don't beat yourself up, just go right back to what you have been doing and don't give up !!:goodvibes

Shawnprincess:

Good Tuesday morning.

SNOW IS COMING I HATE SNOW This could screw up the rest of the week here in jersey. We still have piles from Christmas week. At least we are getting in the baby shower for one of the girls today.

Hope everyone who has gotten snow already are safe.

Don't have a lot of time this morning. It is going to be a tough day. I have our dept monthly breakfast this morning, a baby shower this afternoon and a retirement reception this evening. I just have to take it slow and remember to eat mindfully.

Off to get ready for school.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Hi. :wave:

I'm happy to be joining Team Donald and am very hopeful that this will be a fun way to track (& meet) my weight loss goals. Looking forward to working with you all. :)

Off to drink my water...

BONUS DAY! I have also kind of given myself the day off. No doctor's appointments, cancelled robotics meeting (two kids unavailable), and DD is getting a ride to and from Rainbow Girls tonight, so other than this morning's YMCA run, I'm off duty (sort of.... laundry, dishes, meals still calling to me. Anyhow, I'll be sure to spend some time today praying for your DH's work situation. I don't want to sound whiny, but I've been a little stressed about all that has fallen on my shoulders lately. I know you will all understand and not judge me for getting a bit whiny about it. But I think a day to do what I want is definitely in order.
You deserve a day off, and the chance to be whiny! Totally! You've been nothing but positive about all that's been thrown your way, and now that the danger is over, and it's just long term stuff now, day in and day out, it's set in. Glad you are joining the Bible study, and taking time for you! THanks for the prayers, keep 'em coming!

We're having a snow day today. The snow wasn't supposed to start until after lunch, but we woke to about 1 1/2 inches on the ground, so everything has shut down.
I am just north of you in VA, on the NC line, and we get the Greensboro local news. They are showing Emerald Isle, Charlotte, etc. with snow, and the g'boro area is urging people to stay home b/c of coating of ice on everything. Hope you get to stay in and stay safe!

I think starting and progressing slowly is important. I didn't gain it overnight, and I won't lose it that fast either. Just knowing that slow and steady can win the race is key!!
Exactly. I remember about 3 months in telling Dh - I'm working so hard. Why can't I just wake up and be a size 4? (I was a 16 or so then, still not a 4!) :lmao: Slow and steady!

I will choose all of the above! I have to go slow or I will never do anything cause I will lose steam and give up Update: I am going to DIE ... if I could move enough to roll over out of my chair, I would fall over & die on the floor.
are you doing c25K? That's how I started, and I literally CRIED during the last few 1 minute run intervals! But I can tell you it works, just keep on. You'll be so proud!

Just finished 20 minutes with Jillian's 30 Day Shred. I had so much more endurance I made it through the first set of jumping jacks without out much effort and it was noticeably easier.
:banana::yay:

And woo hoo for a day off! :woohoo: You totally deserve it! Like a whole month off, all expensives paid, people waiting on you hand and foot kind of break really!
AMEN!!! SHe really does!

I have been very good the last few days but am not seeing the scale move at all, it is a little puzzling. I thought the extra Christmas weight would fall right off but so far it's not. I'm bummed and hoping it will not take me a month to lose those 3.5 pounds that took me 3 weeks to gain.
Shawn, another thought for you. I ALWAYS gain 3-5 pounds on car trips of 5+ hours from sitting. It takes a few days for it to come off. Do you thing your plane ride affected you???? That's a long time! Hang in there!!!!!

Rough day here. But I had a small victory. I am so tired (DD didn't sleep well so neither did I). I had a stressful day and I'm gearing up for all this snow we are supposed to get. Here we are day 10 and it was so hard not to go, but I had this little WISH angel sitting on my shoulder whispering that if I did take the kids and eat that garbage I would be soooo mad at myself and regret the decision immensely!
Not a small victory, that's a HUGE ONE! A conscious, soul-searching, beating the inner brat HUGE step! Great job!!!!!!!!

SNOW IS COMING I HATE SNOW This could screw up the rest of the week here in jersey. We still have piles from Christmas week.
So sorry Dona. I am in the minority, I LOVE SNOW and snow days!!!! Hope you hang in there today!!!

Well, quick update on DH, he had a great day at work yesterday. :woohoo::yay::banana::dance3: They didn't rescind the plan, back off of it or anything. But he did share what was going on w/ his employees, who were completely shocked and supportive. They worked their butts off for him, and he came home feeling much better. Told him I would start baking stuff to send to them on Fridays as a thank you, because they will be what ultimately makes or breaks him. He said he told them his wife and daughters were depending on them, so I want to thank them. STILL A LONG ROAD TO Go, but we said 1 day down, 89 to go. We got snow and ice, so the plant is closed today, he gets a bit of a break. That's good, because he hasn't slept at all since Friday, so his body needs rest, and he finally felt last night like he could sleep. He's hoping that if it keeps up, they'll eventually back off. Thanks for your PPD and support, keep it coming (but you can take a little break today ;)). I was sending up prayers every 15 minutes all day yesterday, and was exhausted by the time he got home. Feel asleep at about 7:30 on the couch, and didn't really wake up until 4 this morning. Sophie was asleep in the floor, Ak was asleep in the recliner, and DH was in the bed. :lmao:

Have a great day everyone! Be safe out there if you are in areas hit by snow/ice! Thanks again!
Taryn

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

Popping on with the QOTD and will be back shortly for replies.

Exercise. We all know it is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. It can make wonderful changes in our bodies -- inside and out. It can help you achieve a lifelong dream. It can be so hard to fit in with all the other responsibilities of your life!

It took me awhile to accept that exercise was the thing that was missing in my weight loss journey. The difference between being successful and gaining and losing the same pounds over and over again. (That and the support of WISH but that is another QOTD).

I had quite the array of excuses for exercising. They still play through my mind at times but I heed them less and less. Here is a link to a sparkpeople article called Arm Yourself Against Exercise Excuses Winning the Fight Against Yourself by one of their personal trainers.

Here is the link to the whole article if you are interested:

1/11/11 Tuesday QOTD What exercise excuse do you use most often?

* I don't have time
* I'm too tired
* It's too difficult for me
* It's boring
* I don't want people to see me
* I don't know what I'm doing
* I don't make any of these excuses

And in case you are wondering, no I couldn't coach without sparkpeople ;)

Morning everyone...

Great QOTD, as I missed my workout this mornig in anticipation for the coming snow storm. I usually say to myself that you have to get to the office early to make sure everyone is where they're supposed to be, and often times I'm too tired after a long day at work. So this year, I bought myself a set of resistance bands, so I'll do my best to work out at the office while I'm snowed in.

It really is tough to get back into the swing of things and getting into a regualr gym routine, but i also understand that I just have to take it one day at a time and that the small changes will add up sooner rather than later.

Have a great day everyone!

QOTD: The excuse I use most is "I'm too tired" which I know is counterproductive. Exercise makes me feel better and less tired. The other excuse I use isn't that I don't have time, but that it will take too much time. I use this one when I am talking myself out of exercising in the evening. "I have to change into exercise clothes, go to the Y, work out, come home, shower, change into other clothes...it is just too much work and too much changing clothes. What's on TV?" I should go in the morning, but I never quite get there. It really is something I need to work on!

Of course, today, because of the weather, the Y doesn't even open til noon, and the roads are glare ice. Perfect excuse. I made it through yesterday without baking; let's see if I can today!

Eeyores Butterfly - sorry I haven't got any clue about the ticker. Hopefully someone will help and I'll be able to use your answer too.

QOTD - I know that all of the items are absolutly necessary but the one that really does the trick for me is to track everything. That's what I'm so frustrated with myself lately. I'm NOT tracking. Does anyone know of an app for an iTouch? I have SparkPeople, but if you don't have wireless access (and I don't at work) I can't enter anything. I really need something that I can use all the time, not just when I'm near wifi. Maybe I should just use the folded up piece of paper and carry that around.

I didn't do fantastic over the weekend. I did do better and we did go out for a walk yesterday even thougth it was pretty dang cold. I went back to snacking my way through the evening. :guilty:

I use the Lose it app for the iphone, it would probably work for the iTouch. I really like it.

I think I use I am too tired or I don't have enough time the most. The first thing to go when life gets to hectic is me time and exercise counts as that.

Woohoo on the 5 points for shoveling. What work that must be. We never shovel here. :)

::yes:: No too many snow shovels even sold in your neck of the woods!

I really enjoyed that article Lisa, thanks so much for posting it. I would say all of the above except "trust the plan" since I'm not exactly following a plan.

I think that you do have a plan, Shawn, small, sustainable changes add up to results! :sunny: Isn't it amazing how warm it is there now when you were snowed in just a short time ago? :confused3

One meal at a time...One meal at a time...

I went to our WW meeting tonight (with the snow I'm somewhat surprised we still had it) and I'm down a lb! I figured this week would be a gain because I was not very healthy. I love pleasant surprises.

Glad that you had a good WI! :goodvibes

Taryn

:hug: So glad things are working out and glad that all got some rest because it sounds like you really needed it!

Hi! Waving here . . . not having the best week. We'll see how it goes on Friday when I weigh in. Not really looking forward to that.

:wave: Nothing like a 2 hour school delay to throw a routine out of whack! I am not sure we have ever had one here so we were all thrown for a loop. And 5am is so NOT the time to be trying to do the math in my head to figure out when I have to get everyone up and out the door! Younger DD just left for school.

So here is my biggest challenge right now. I need to STOP getting on that damn scale every morning! I know that I need to just weigh in once a week but it is right there mocking me and I just want to get on and show it that I am losing. But of course we tend to fluctuate and if it sticks it's tongue out at me and shows a 1 pound gain I get so :mad: I think I need to tell DH to take it out of the bathroom and hide it and only bring it out on Friday mornings for me.

Well, quick update on DH, he had a great day at work yesterday. :woohoo::yay::banana::dance3: But he did share what was going on w/ his employees, who were completely shocked and supportive. They worked their butts off for him, and he came home feeling much better. Taryn

:yay:That is so awesome to hear. Having the support of his employees shows that he is a great leader. And taking in treats to thank them is a great way to show his appreciation. (just make sure you don't do too many taste tests! ;) )

DH used to ask me to make cheesecakes for the machine shop where he worked because they loved my cheesecake. I would make them at Christmas and anytime he had a big project they worked their tails off for.

1/11/11 Tuesday QOTD What exercise excuse do you use most often?

* I don't have time
* I'm too tired
* It's too difficult for me
* It's boring
* I don't want people to see me
* I don't know what I'm doing

)

I am going to go with all of the above!

But the reality is:
  • I have plenty of time-- I waste a lot of time on the computer during the day.
  • I would have more energy and be less tired if I exercised.
  • I have adapted exercises (physical therapy stretching and upper body) that I can do even thought I can't do any cardio/aerobic things for now.
  • It is boring. Can't help that but I can do it in front of the TV which is what I am doing anyway. Exercising while watching is way more productive than sitting like a potato.
  • I have lots of times and places to exercise where no one can see me. And really I should be doing it WITH my family and my kids should see me adding healthy exercise habits.
  • I may have questions about how to properly do some things but in this internet age there are plenty of resources to find written and video instructions on how to do everything.

By the way SparkPeople has some great exercise video demos and will put a plan together for you.

So now that I have just shot all of my excuses to hell I guess maybe I should go find my stretching band and hand weights and channel Nike-- JUST DO IT!

QOTD - I definitely use the excuse "I'm too tired" way too often! I am working to improve it.

Good morning everyone. I feel like I am getting a late start today because I got to work late. We got just a couple of inches of snow here (we live in MN...that should be expected!) and my commute took about an hour longer than usual! Oh well...when I walked in the door, I noticed that about half of the office still wasn't in so at least I wasn't the only one. :thumbsup2

Yesterday I was planning to do some cardio over lunch and then do some weight training at home with my DBF in the evening. However, since I haven't taken a day off from cardio since the 1st, I decided to skip it and just do the weight training. When we lift at home, we usually do it around 9pm because we both have about an hour long commute and by the time we get home, we need to eat dinner. Then we like to take some time for our food to digest. :) So, when I got home yesterday, I cooked dinner and ate and waited for DBF to get home. Unfortunately, he got stuck at work until almost 9 :scared1: When he called to let me know he was on his way home, I realized that we weren't going to get in the lifting that we planned because he still needed dinner and I wasn't about to stay up until 1 am so his food could digest before working out. (I also didn't want to just do the lifting on my own because it is pretty intense--P90X--and I knew that he would want to do it later in the week.) Now, what I would usually do in this situation is make up an excuse a la the QOTD...I'm too tired, I don't have time, etc...BUT, I didn't say any of those things! Instead, I improvised! :idea: :woohoo: I haven't done any real core work in a while, so I spent about 30 min doing some crunches and planks and whatnot and also did a few sets of bicep curls and tricep extensions. I was pretty proud of myself for not making an excuse, because generally, I am the Queen of excuses princess:

SO...on to the QOTD:

1/11/11 Tuesday QOTD What exercise excuse do you use most often?

* I don't have time
* I'm too tired
* It's too difficult for me
* It's boring
* I don't want people to see me
* I don't know what I'm doing
* I don't make any of these excuses

My go to excuse is "I'm too tired." Like I said, we often wait until 9 to do our workouts, which leads to a lot of tiredness...once I sit on that couch and start watching TV, staying there is so much easier than moving. I also like the "I don't have time" excuse. With my long commute (about an hour each way) my work day ends up being about 11 hours. If I don't make it to the gym over lunch, I easily get caught up in other things after work and can run out of time if I don't plan properly. I am really trying to give up the excuses and just do it. It's my own fault that I got to this weight, so I have to take some responsibility and make the changes necessary. Hopefully, my excuses will disapear as the weight does !

Have a happy, snowy (it seems like the whole country is getting it today) day!

"I'm too tired" is definitely my go-to excuse. Which, as a few people have already mentioned, is totally counter-intuitive since the more you exercise the more energy you have. I know this in my head.... I just cannot get the rest of my body in gear. :rolleyes:

I've heard the tip to just tell yourself to do 10 min and that most likely you'll keep going once you've started. Nope... not me. From the second I get on the elliptical machine I cannot wait to be done. :sad2:

Oh well, I did do my 20 min today so that is a small victory! :cheer2:

OH & my gym just added this really cool bike, you get to ride a course.:cool1: You can pick hills or Mts etc.. and you actually a doing a virtual ride. I only lasted 5 min but that was at the end of workout, I think I will do this 1st tomorrow.

Our Y has a bike (or two) like that that also has a video game.... as you ride the bike you are getting coins and hitting dragons and earning points. I'm not at all interested in video games (DS actually pointed it out to me), but something about that distraction makes me almost enjoy using these bikes. And they are built like spinning bikes.... I like that about them too. It just took some time getting used to the bike seat soreness the next day.

If anyone deserves a day to spend on themself, it is you Pamela !!!
Hope you enjoy every minute of it and don't feel a bit guilty. It is time well spent and benefits your family as well.

I have been very good the last few days but am not seeing the scale move at all, it is a little puzzling. I thought the extra Christmas weight would fall right off but so far it's not. I'm bummed and hoping it will not take me a month to lose those 3.5 pounds that took me 3 weeks to gain. I want to join the rest of you that are having fabulous losses:yay: Today and yesterday I even tried eating super light to see if that would produce results. I saw no drop on the scale this morning and we will see what tomorrow brings. I did 35 mins on the elliptical Sat and today and jogged 45 minutes Sunday. It's funny, all our snow here has melted except a few isolated spots and the weather has been really warm, as high as low 50's during the day since Saturday:dance3: Hope those of you with snow stay safe!

Shawnprincess:

Thanks for the kind words. I ended up working at the scrap table off and on all day! I finally cleaned up about 7 pm or so. I got lots of semi-completed pages finished off and can now count them in my running tally and get them in the appropriate books!

I know what you mean about the holiday weight. I was lucky this year, but usually those vacation/holiday pounds take much longer to lose than to gain. Lucky you with the warmer temps!

I've been away all weekend. Had to catch up on here.

We were off to the west side of the state, almost to Lake Michigan for my son's hockey game. He stayed over night with friends, but I travelled back home and then back to Grand Rapids for his Sunday game which they won and he scored 2 goals. Not too shabby for playing defense.

My youngest son just started playing so he's learning the ropes.

Long night on Saturday, cause I ended up in the hospital ER. Long story short, got home at 3 am. Had lots of pain, but thanks to my new friend morphin, it ended after 3 hours. Nothing serious but when you go to ER its serious enough.

As for my diet, I gotta eat more. I've been eating well, just not enough. Weird to say on a diet but its true.

I did my P90X workout and sweated my tail off. Its tough but, I'm having fun with it.

Checking back more often now, I hope. Ready for bed and its only 7:30.

Hope you are feeling better. And what kind of SICKO uses the words "P90X" and "fun" in the same sentence!!??:rotfl:

I went to our WW meeting tonight (with the snow I'm somewhat surprised we still had it) and I'm down a lb! I figured this week would be a gain because I was not very healthy. I love pleasant surprises. :yay:

Yahoo for the good surprise on the scale!

NICE CHOICE!! And it is SO hard when you have a kid (or two) pushing you in the unhealthy direction. But I remind myself, when DS begs for McD, that I love him TOO MUCH to feed him that JUNK!! That said, he eats it far more often than I would like, but such is modern life. :rolleyes:

I'm sure you had a GREAT feeling about it after you skipped it. Just be careful that the pickles don't end up making you retain lots of fluid. Not a big deal, but won't look pretty on the scale.

Good Tuesday morning.

SNOW IS COMING I HATE SNOW

ME TOO!!!:mad:

Good luck with all of the eating at special events today.

Hi. :wave:

I'm happy to be joining Team Donald and am very hopeful that this will be a fun way to track (& meet) my weight loss goals. Looking forward to working with you all. :)

Off to drink my water...

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

You deserve a day off, and the chance to be whiny! Totally! You've been nothing but positive about all that's been thrown your way, and now that the danger is over, and it's just long term stuff now, day in and day out, it's set in. Glad you are joining the Bible study, and taking time for you! THanks for the prayers, keep 'em coming!Taryn

Thanks for the nice words. I enjoyed the bible study and I'm hoping to connect with some other Moms through this. Prayers will continue for your DH and his work situation (and yourself, of course!).

I am just north of you in VA, on the NC line, and we get the Greensboro local news. They are showing Emerald Isle, Charlotte, etc. with snow, and the g'boro area is urging people to stay home b/c of coating of ice on everything. Hope you get to stay in and stay safe!Taryn

My folks spent the night in Smithfield, NC last night on their way to FL. Woke up to ice, but scrapped the car windows and were on their way by 8 am. Called from somewhere in SC about 11 am and said the roads were clear.

Taryn

What a big relief.... nice to know that his employees will be supportive and try their hardest for him. A basket of baked goodies will be SO appreciated!

* I don't have time
* I'm too tired
* It's too difficult for me
* It's boring
* I don't want people to see me
* I don't know what I'm doing
* I don't make any of these excuses

And in case you are wondering, no I couldn't coach without sparkpeople ;)

*I DON'T HAVE TIME!* My classic excuse.... which is why first thing in the morning works best for me.... NO EXCUSES! That said, it has been TOUGH lately with the cold and all to motivate myself to rise and shine and MOVE! I'm certainly not working out with the intensity or regularity I was a few months ago (or even last year at this time), but I'm still trying to get into a new "normal" routine with DH home and such. But it will work out.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope all of you South Easterners are safe and warm! And those along the coast and in the NE, get ready for the white stuff! I HATE IT! But honestly, so far this year hasn't been too terrible (knock on wood). I've only had to use the snowblower once so far and it is almost mid-January... that is practically a record. I hope we don't make up for it in March! The kids are excited for a day off (especially DD) and since we still have all of our unused snowdays in the schedule, I'm not stressing about it.

I had lots of oven roasted veggies for dinner last night and probably should have taken some bean-o or something... my stomach is REALLY rumbling today. I cooked an entire head of cauliflower, a large beet, two big handfuls of baby carrots, and a large onion..... and except for giving DD about 1/3 of the cauliflower, I ate it ALL!!popcorn:: Zero points (except for the EVOO), but tough on the digestive system! THat, my friends, is called VOLUME EATING!!:laughing: I was SO hungry and munchy feeling yesterday that I really wanted to fill my belly. That certainly did it!;) (And yes, I did have some protein.... I had about a Tb. of hummus and a Tb. of taboule salad with a few pretzels and carrot sticks).

Well... I've got about an hour before DS comes home and the evening rush begins (homework, swim practice, and a make-up basketball game thrown in for fun). I'd like to move the laundry along and maybe do a few minutes of scrapping.... so I'm gonna go now...............P

Good morning everyone. My dogs are loving the snow today.

Ive had a handful of rough days, and haven't been cooking or exercising. :/ I have been counting calories without fail, though! I even went out to eat twice, and managed to stay within my calorie allowance. I cannot tell you how proud of that fact I am. I was really able to enjoy super yummy "bad" foods without going over. :yay:

I still have a ton of cooking to do, so I'm going to tackle that today. After a couple of hours, I'm in a lot of pain. I'm not stressing the exercise just yet - I just can't seem to fit it all in so I'm going to focus on the successes I do have.

Yesterday we booked our very first DVC stay!! We're going to AKV in Aug and I can hardly wait. We intend to squeeze in nearly 3 weeks of Disney within a one year span. This way we can get annual passes and maximize every dollar. So we go in Aug, then Dec, then June. Woohoo.

I just saw that you are in Central Il. I am from Champaign (actually Mahomet Seymour) and still have family there.

When you come back to Champaign for a visit, we should go out to lunch! Radio Maria has excellent tapas, and the portions are small so you don't blow your calorie count. :D (its also my very favorite place to eat)

Yaaay! I am so relieved to hear that things went well. I think your idea for sending goodies to work is a terrific idea. People love being appreciated and validated.

QOTD 1/11/11 - Tuesday QOTD What exercise excuse do you use most often?

Probably "I'm too tired". The reality is that I hate most exercise, and it takes a sheer force of will to make myself do it. I know its going to be a key part of my weight loss and overall health, but right now I am working on getting several other key components in place, and I'm not going to beat myself up for not exercising. I really stressed about it for a while, and that wasn't getting me anywhere anyway. No more stress, just success!

The excuse I use most is "I'm too tired" which I know is counterproductive. Exercise makes me feel better and less tired.

I wish I felt better when I exercise. I just don't. No endorphins, no second wind, no energy - nothing. I feel weak and MORE tired for the rest of the day. I don't know if its because of all my autoimmune disorders, but I feel cheated.

Great article!!

My go to excuses, and everybody knows I have a pocket full of them.

I don't want people to see me - I have 1600 people in my town, the rec field is across from the school, everyone drives on this road!! It's so embarrassing!! The gym is another place - I'd really like to go to the gym but the pre-judgement is so overwhelming! Oh look at her, she doesn't belong here. The gym is for "athletes". Both stupid excuses!!

I don't know what I'm doing - I felt this way when I first started C25K. It goes along with excuse number one. But as I said yesterday Knowledge is power.

I don't have time - lame excuse but the most used!!! If I can DIS, I can work out!

I really like this quote in the article:
I will do what I need to do, in order to do what I want to do.
