TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

Good Sunday morning everyone.

Had a quiet afternoon yesterday. Did get to the grocery store and got some things for ds2's dorm. He leaves next Sunday to go back to school. Ds1 is doing okay with his bruided rib. He still has some pain but not all the time. Dh watched the football games and enjoyed that the Jets won. I did some knitting for a baby shower we are having on Tuesday for a member of our department who is due any day now.

Welcome roydavid7771 This has been a pretty busy group.

Taryn PD sent to your husband. I can understand how nervous you are.

buzz5985 your pizza sounds great.

mom2knk Igree if you are sweating you are working out.

lovetoscrap clean can be areobic. I am glad that you got your scrap table cleaned off. I cleaned my sewing table off last week.

Pamela congrats on your daughter and son's achievements.

Lisa thanks for the recipes. I will have to look at them and maybe try them.

Hi to everyone I missed.

Pretty quiet again today. I need to finish my knitting for Tuesday and get some things together.

Tonight the daughter of one of my vice principals is going to be on the Food Network Cake Challenge. It is the one about Monster Bugs. I can't wait to see it. He did not see the challenge because he was having knee surgery so I know he is excited about it.

Off to get ready for church.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Thanks for all the PPD. KEEP IT COMING! I wrote a long vent over on Mickey, but I am still pretty terrified and trying NOT to let DH see it. Lots of "how long will the girls have this house to live in" kinda stuff..... TOTAL FEAR! Anyway, I digress.

I posted this over on the MIckey thread, and even though you guys are the competition for a while, I DO want you to be healthy. So I thought I'd copy it over here.

A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT!!!

Okay, first weigh in is over. Some things to think about if you didn't have the results you expected!

1. How much salt are you consuming? Trust me, that stuff can add POUNDS of bloating!

2. Are you drinking the water? It will flush out all sorts of bad stuff, the more you drink, the better. Plus, you feel full!

3. You might be replacing fat with muscle if you are really incorporating a lot of exercise for the first time. Muscle DOES NOT weigh more than fat, but it takes up much less space. If you are doing WIN, you'll see the differences in your measurements in a few weeks. So if you replaced 5 pounds of 5 with 5 pounds of muscle, your weight would stay the same, but your body would look like this:

fat-v-muscle.jpg

How's that for a little Sunday morning motivation????

Thanks for being here, and keep sending up the PPD!!!!!
Have a great day!
Taryn

Okay.... I suppose I'm a little OCD with my journaling. But honestly, after 3 years it has become a good easy habit. I keep my journal in the same spot on the kitchen counter all the time (but it does travel with me when I go away). I have developed my own form of shorthand for most things that I eat frequently. It probably takes me a grand total of 5-10 minutes per day to keep this up to date. And yes, I have kept them ALL! Every notebook I have completed for the past 3 years. Don't ask me what I'm ever gonna do with them... but I can't bring myself to toss them! Maybe I'll have a ceremonial burning of them to celebrate 5 years of maintenance (when I ever get there.. :rolleyes1 ).

Evening friends! Imagine that.... I am on here TWICE today!! It was a good day for this family. DS's b.ball team won a close game by one point! And DD qualified for high school States in her 100 freestyle. We made it safely through snow to and from DS's game about 75 minutes away, so that was good too. And the Christmas tree is history! I've still gotta pack up the remaining ornaments, but the tree, lights, and popcorn strings are gone, the floor is vacuumed and the furniture is rearranged.
P
Glad you all had such a good day, you deserve it. Congrats to dd an ds. That must have been an exciting b-ball game. We went to my nephews b-ball game a few weekends ago, and it was so much fun to watch him, and so fast moving. But man, when the other team started racking up the points, my heart was breaking for him. He's middle school, and he takes it all to heart.

But I also found a bunch of goodies in the pile and kind of, sort of, ate some of them. :sad2: Not good.:headache:

But I spent about 30 minutes vacuuming and then carpet cleaning the really dirty nasty carpet in the traffic area and am now exhausted and sweaty so I am thinking that I can count that as exercise. Maybe that effort burned off the stupid calories I shouldn't have eaten.:guilty:
Definitely exercise!! Bummer on the goodies, but they're gone now, and you must have burned off some of those calories with the cleaning. I found 2 dove chocolate caramels when I was cleaning the kitchen yesterday, and enjoyed them both. Was very happy it wasn't a whole bag.

Hi everyone!

Just joined yesterday, and I'm so psyched to find this thread! OK, here are my answers.....

5. Well, I joined up here, that's a start!

6. For me, nothing suprises me. It's all about portion control for me.

7. Moderate to high for me!
Welcome to team Donald! Joining here is a great start, and popping in here and posting can definltey help bring that diet rage down a notch.;)

My motto from now on:
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "WOOHOO!! What a ride!!"
:thumbsup2

Today my son begins auditions for summer intensives and its the first time we arent schlepping him to Chicago and back every weekend. I miss being there for the excitement and anticipation of the process, but am glad we don't have to do all the driving. Just have to share one of his audition pics!
What a great picture of ds. The muscle definition in his legs is just amazing. How strong he must be. You must be so proud.

Wow, congrats on 11 pounds!! That is a fabulous start to the new year!!! I'm hoping for that much in 2 months.:rotfl2:

Question about tracking.

Since I've never really tracked before how do I start? Do you write food and drinks down? Or just food? Do you write serving sizes, calories, fat grams etc? I'm not really sure what to do an how in-depth to get.
Late to the tracking party, but I use the ww trackers if I'm going to meetings, but if I"m not I take a piece of paper and fold it in 8ths, so I have one section for each day of the week, and I'll keep it on the kitchen table when I'm home with a pen, and write everything as I'm eating or preparing it, and when i work I keep it in my scrub pocket, so at work if I decide to have an extra snack I didn't bring, I will write it right away. I do the ww points, so I know how many I have left each time I write something. I know if I don't write it right away, I won't remember. My memory is a seive sometimes. In the past when I am on track and faithfully journalling, I do lose the weight. It's too easy for 2 cookies to become 6 when I'm not keeping track.
I love reading pamela's journalling method, and know I won't ever be that good about it, but do realize maybe that is why she is at goal, and I still have 60 pound to lose. :rotfl:

I fixed it it should say 11 pounds. My keys have been sticking a lot on my laptop. Thanks for pointing that out!!!!
Wow, amazing weight losses!!!

:rotfl2: My excuse for not doing it yesterday was because by the time I was done it would have been dark in the cellar, so I waited til today. Yet it's today and I'm not doing anything yet.:rotfl:

I can NOT get my DISticker weight loss ticker to work:headache: It is not covered in my FAQs! I have it made as you can see but when I go in to change my weight it doesn't do anything. I log in and it says I am logged in, I get taken to the "Step 3" screen, I change the current weight in the box and the only options to click is "create ticker". If I click that I just get taken back to the main DISticker screen with a message that says my userid and password are incorrect-- but they aren't and it says I am logged in before that.
I see you got it working. SO cute.

I really think, as long as the forecast holds, we'll be out, especially because a couple of teenagers died a week and a half before Christmas. They were on the way to their school down the road from the one I work at, and hit an ice patch on the bridge, slid into the opposite lane on the highway and straight into an 18-wheeler. (By the time the weather people put out that there was possibility of ice on bridges, it was too late.) I didn't know the kids, but some of my students did.
So sad and sorry for those families.

Tonight the daughter of one of my vice principals is going to be on the Food Network Cake Challenge. It is the one about Monster Bugs. I can't wait to see it. He did not see the challenge because he was having knee surgery so I know he is excited about it.
That is such a cool show. How exciting to have someone you know on it. Glad ds is doing ok with the ribs.

Good morning teammates!!
I was pretty lazy yesterday, but did do 30 min wii fit in the morning, laundry, and just picked up the kitchen. I will take down that tree today, and put the christmas stuff away today. That is my goal. I have a 80th bday brunch to go to, and I'm on call, so at least I can't have mimosas. I'm sure there will be fruit so I'll stick mostly to the fruit, and maybe some eggs but I'll stay away from any cheesy looking caseroles.

Hope you're enjoying the weekend.

Good morning all! That picture of the fat/muscle is gross! I should blow it up and put it on my fridge. I did my treadmill last night and am keeping to my WW points. Today I am going shopping for healthy, low points foods and then i am getting my haircut to reward myself for my efforts so far. I plan on giving myself some little reward every 5 pounds to help with my motivation.

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

We'll switch gears a little today for a relaxing Sunday.

1/9/11 Sunday QOTD: If you were at Disneyland or Disney World today what you would you be doing right now?

I'll be back soon with the replies. :goodvibes

ARGH, I didn't even think about that. I always add milk and sugar to my tea. But it's a dollop here and splosh there.

Unfortunately it is those "dollops" and "sploshes" that get us into trouble on the scale. And if you don't write them and you have a bad week on the scale you won't know why. I KNOW that there are people who gain weight and bring their food journals to the meetings for the leaders to look and when when they are questioned they say something like "well... I have a coffee with just a little cream and sugar every morning.... did I need to write/track that?" YUP! I have heard stories at WW about folks who think that they can just "ignore" that iced mocha latte that they get every afternoon for the commute home... after all, coffee has no calories, right? ;)

You need to be measuring and journaling EVERYTHING that you consume! If measuring every time you have a cup of tea is too much of a bother, you could try what I did for a while. I would measure out a measuring cup of skim milk and put it in the fridge... and write the entire cup in my journal. Then as I wanted milk for coffee/tea/oatmeal during the day, I would take it from that cup. When the cup was empty, I was done for the day and I had already counted and journaled that cup. You could do the same for sugar. If you think you have about 3 Tb. of sugar throughout the day in your tea, you could measure out the full 3 Tb. into a small dish in the morning, journal it, and then take from there during the day. When it is gone, you are done with sugar for the day (or you could add another 3 Tb., journal it, and keep going).

If you want to avoid bad surprises, know the points/calories of a food in ADVANCE of eating it. It might change your mind about consuming it in the first place.

Oh I like this motto!!! I want to cover my food journal and this will be the title!!

I always plan on having a pretty journal, but I go through them so quickly that I just end up using cheap spiral bound notebooks.... but when I'm lucky, I find them with pink covers... my favorite color.

First Friday night of every month. And maybe a few 12 hour day crops.
I'll keep you posted on the times

I'll have to start checking over there more regularly. If you think of it, give me a heads-up before the next one.

Yes he did. It took him twice as long as usual but he made it home in one piece.

Glad to hear it.

Me, go out in a blaze of Glory??? You bet your sweet boppy I will if I'm given 1/2 a chance!!!!

My motto from now on:
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "WOOHOO!! What a ride!!"!!

But you're not going any where soon, right??

a little OCD??? LOL J/K!!!
Will you please come here and follow me around all day to write down what I do?
AHHHHH!!! The food stuff is sooooo hard!!! I swear there are times when I eat and then forget I ate. I'm like I need lunch, and then a few minutes later I'm like wait, I ate lunch an hour ago. Gotta make this a top priority!!

It does take some getting used to. I try really hard to write it BEFORE I eat it... so I don't forget. Usually, after I have decided what I am eating, I write it down to figure out the points before I eat, just in case I decide it it too many or too few.

Hi everyone!

Just joined yesterday, and I'm so psyched to find this thread! OK, here are my answers.....

1. Rang in the New Year quietly with dinner and a movie with my girlfriend followed by a small celebration with my sister and her husband.

2. HObbies include golf, golf, and more golf (you would think I would be in better shape with allthe walking that I do on the course! No more junk food at the turn, that's for sure!).

3. Easily the MK, just walking around and seeing all of the smiling faces would be enough for me!

4. If you're talking aerobic exercise, it's basketball. I haven't played in years, which is one of my major goals this winter....to be able to run up and down the court again for more than a minute without sucking wind!

5. Well, I joined up here, that's a start!

6. For me, nothing suprises me. It's all about portion control for me.

7. Moderate to high for me!

Glad to have you here! WELCOME!

Good Sunday morning everyone.

He still has some pain but not all the time. Dh watched the football games and enjoyed that the Jets won. I did some knitting for a baby shower we are having on Tuesday for a member of our department who is due any day now. .

Glad his rib is feeling okay. Does he have some pain meds? I bruised/cracked a rib when I was pregnant with DS (they didn't know which and didn't want to xray me cause of the pregnancy). It was horribly painful and uncomfortable for MONTHS!

Maybe I'll try to catch it. What is her name? My brother made an appearance on "Kate plus 8" this fall and it was such a hoot! We recorded it on the DVR and I swear we have shown it to ever visitor we have had since then!! Why is it such a rush to have people we know on tv?? I'm such a geek.

I love reading pamela's journalling method, and know I won't ever be that good about it, but do realize maybe that is why she is at goal, and I still have 60 pound to lose. :rotfl:

Thanks... we DID deserve a good day! And I made it even better by getting the dreaded chore of Christmas tree removal done! And I decided NOT to procrastinate about packing up the ornaments and I did that last night as well.

As long as you have a journaling method that works for you, that is what counts. I tend to make EVERYTHING into a project. I LOVE having a "project" to work on. I was actually really afraid that when I got to my goal weight I would feel let down because the "project" would be over. But then I realized that a project like healthier living is never really finished. There are always new recipes to try and new exercises to get involved in. Keeping up with my OCD journaling is just one way that I can continue to feel IN CONTOL and keep up with the "project".

Well.... once again I have spent an entire morning here reading and replying instead of getting myself ready to go.... so now I'll have to choose something to wear to church that doesn't need ironing!! :lmao: oh well. The men are staying home and after church DD and I will have some lunch and head straight to her swim meet. Fortunately it is a home meet and isn't scheduled to last too long. But I probably won't make it back on here today.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone! Talk to you tomorrow...........P

Happy birthday Phorsenuf

For those who will be watching food network tonight, my vp's daughter's last name is Gotthelf. I don't know her first name. She is not the main baker but an assistant.

Have a great day everyone.

1/9/11 Sunday QOTD: If you were at Disneyland or Disney World today what you would you be doing right now?
getting fast passes for Test Track or Toy story mania :)

We spent the day with the Mouse yesterday. DH took a wrong turn and we ended up at Epcot parking. Right during the 1/2 marathon.... It was really awesome to watch! it was inspiring watching everbody of all shapes & sizes, ages ( we saw a couple that had to be in their late 60's running!) we got on the monorail and waved at everyone running as we were on our way to MK. The people running were yelling hi,waving back and everyone was so happy.
It was a PERFECT day yesterday- not too hot or cold
MK was empty in the a.m. & we walked right onto Big thunder, pirates, haunted mansion. The only thing we got a fast pass for was buzz. it got a bit crowded around noon in fantasy land. so we decided to leave.

we then hopped back to Epcot and it was cleared out. had fun roaming world showcase.
I was able to snack on fruit yesterday and I always take my allergy free crackers & pretzels. We ate in Epcot at Sunshine seasons. we walked the world showcase 2 X -so I got some exercise
around 4:30 we decided to head to DTD and we had a late dinner at Wolfgang pucks express. They will make meal I can eat there (a salad type thing with chicken.)

Watching the 1/2 marathon, I really got motivated and inspired! seeing people who were of all shapes and sizes competing really helped me realize with hard work anyone can do this and you don't have to be 6 foot tall & a bean pole to participate.

I am not an exerciser- I am NOT a runner or even jogger. I can walk kinda fast if I am heading toward a sale or a dessert :) DH said to me could you do a 5 K?? I said well I can walk 3 miles But have no idea how fast. So he told me If I can and work up to it and do a 15 minute mile
he will buy me the shoes I need and he will spring for the halloween 5 K in October for me.
and If I keep going he will spring for the 2012 Princess 1/2. this includes staying at the world etc..

So I am thankful for the inspiration and :cheer2: from others on this challenge. I am so glad we decided to go yesterday and that he made a wrong turn :)

I hope everyone has a great week and let's go TEAM DONALD!

Actually, if you look around, there are some pretty good natural frozen meals out there. Amy's is one brand and Kashi is another. Similar to LC and WW Smart Ones, but healthier. And I have gone so far as to make up my own individual frozen meals when I have had leftovers.

Oh, I love Amy's frozen meals -- they are so flavorful. I have them for lunch at work. They are a tad expensive but since they taste so much better I tell myself they are still cheaper than a trip through the drive-through.

This came up on the Mickey thread so I wanted to share it with you as well:

If you are going to miss a weigh in just send me a PM and I will make note of it!

TTFN :tigger:

It makes it easier for our weightkeeper when she knows that you will be gone to mark you excused instead of on the lists for missed weigh ins.

Those cleaning calories totally count! ::yes:: WW will give you activity points for housecleaning and you can also use sparkpeople to track calories burned on their fitness tracker. I have a formula to track how many calories you burn for activity from the Biggest Loser competition I did at the gym last fall. I will find it and post it later today.

I think vacuuming and cleaning definitely count as exercise...you said you got sweaty, right??? Sometimes we forget to count our day to day activities, like trips up and down the stairs, heavy cleaning, shoveling snow, etc. Not saying that should be our only exercise, but it might help us feel better about doing our "chores" if we realize we're benefiting from them.

Yep, if you were a pedometer all day the steps count, too, even the ones where you are sauntering along! :goodvibes

We love Beef Daube!!!! DH would have it every week. There is another stew on Cooking Light you might like. It's called Beef and Guinness Stew. The gravy is outstanding and the parsnips make the stew. It was the first time I had every eaten parsnips. LOL It's made with Draught (on the sweet side) and not the Stout. http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=10000001963989

I've had that stew before -- it is delicious! :cool2: It was the first time I'd had parsnips, too, now I love them! DH cooked four different things last week from Cooking Light and only one was only so so -- we've never had success in 17 years with low fat fried rice so it wasn't a big surprise.

Did you know that we have a recipe thread for BL? It's on the healthy eating part of the board. It might need a bump and then we can add all these delicious recipes there. Our lovely hostess, Rose, keeps the index for us.

I'm out of time, so no more comments other than keep up the great attitude everybody! :goodvibes

:wave2: Hi Shannon! Nice to see you! :flower3:

AHHHHH!!! The food stuff is sooooo hard!!! I swear there are times when I eat and then forget I ate. I'm like I need lunch, and then a few minutes later I'm like wait, I ate lunch an hour ago. Gotta make this a top priority!!

, Buffy, Mommy brain! It is best to try and write it down first but for starters just get used to writing it down -- whatever it is -- then after a week or so you will see where you can make some changes. We will want to see a picture of your beautiful journal cover when you are done. :flower3:

Hi everyone!

Just joined yesterday, and I'm so psyched to find this thread! OK, here are my answers.....

:welcome: roydavid7771! Be sure and PM your weigh in to tigger813 with your team name if you haven't already. You may also want to check out the Healthy Habits challenge for the week and consider doing WIN!

1/9/11 Sunday QOTD: If you were at Disneyland or Disney World today what you would you be doing right now?

I think I keep forgetting to answer my own QOTD. :rotfl:

If I was at Disneyland right now I would be sleeping or maybe getting ready for MM (Magic Morning -- DL version of EMH) but I can't remember if they have those on Sunday.

If I was at WDW I would be almost done with running the Princess half -- like I will be in six short weeks! princess:

Enjoy your Sunday folks! :goodvibes

You can definately do a 5K by October, Abby! Check out this link for the Couch 2 5K program (C25K) http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml The first few times you jog you may think you are going to die, but you won't, and you will be surprised at how quickly you will get stronger.

The WISH racing team motto is: Dead Last Finish is greater than Did Not Finish which greatly trumps Did Not Start. WISH gave me the courage to get started! If I can do it at age 50, weighing in the 210's, anyone can do it! :goodvibes

Saturday's QOTD: I am all over the place; up and down; doing well, not doing well.

Sunday's QOTD: If at WDW right now, I think I would like to go to DHS to see the Little Mermaid, and try to get fast passes for Toy Story Mania. Just the mood I am in.

Speaking of the marathon, it is hard for me to believe that 6 years ago, I was at WDW for the WISH Walkers Inaugural marathon/half-marathon. This was the first year that I recall a concerted effort on the DIS to have a group participate. It was a wonderful weekend where I got to meet so many great people. I am in awe of how the DIS participation has grown in 6 years!

QOTD--If I were at Disneyland right now, I would be just passing through the gates and heading towards Pirates or Indy to start the morning off right. pirate:If I was at Disneyworld, then I would be watching the Lion King show at AK or waiting in the single line at RocknRoller at DHS. :simba:

Trying to get back on track today...had a less than effective week. So I have my shopping done and I am ready to head out for my 5 mile walk/jog. I also wrote out my meal plan for the week which should help keep me on track. Thankfully I have no food parties with students this week. Geez pizza and root beer floats all in one week

Have a great day everyone!!!

>1/9/11 Sunday QOTD: If you were at Disneyland or Disney World today what you would you be doing right now?<<

Well I'll technically be there in about 5 hours for work- but if it was a play day (which tomorrow is :)) I'd be at DAK prob riding the safari taking pictures- If I was at DLR.. Checking out all the construction walls and mourning the loss of the Letters at DCA

Now a question for the runners-

So I signed up for the Royal Family 5K next month and after my run today am wondering if I set my "carrot" too low but I don't know if the Princess 1/2 is too high of a "carrot" to reach... Today I ran 3 miles in 35 minutes and while tired I'm not exhausted. I'm currently running every 3rd day adding a mile each time.

Thoughts?

If I were at Disney right now, I'd just be finishing up a roundof golf on the Magnolia course followed by a light lunch at the MK. I always wanted to do that!

 Good Morning! Today is a new day and I WILL be on track today.

Just got interrupted by DH wanting some guidelines on what he should and shouldn't eat. He lost 9 pounds in the same time I lost 3. :headache: Men stink some times!

1/9/11 Sunday QOTD: If you were at Disneyland or Disney World today what you would you be doing right now?

Asked DH and DD15 and they said we would have probably just left Toy Story Mania and be headed to Planet Pizza for lunch. :thumbsup2 I love that they actually thought about what day it was, thus which park we would probably be at, and the time of day and that we would have skipped breakfast and had an early lunch. I am always the planner and they just go along with what I tell them to do. They are learning. . .

This also just sparked a discussion about our meal at ABC Commissary on our last trip and how we would have been better off eating the soles of our shoes or begging scraps from others. It was without a doubt the WORST meal we have ever had on Disney property. We were desperate, it was pouring down rain and my scooter was having issues so I needed to plug it in to charge for awhile. This was the only option that was indoors and had outlets so I could plug in. But the food was dreadful! DH said he would rather push me in my dead scooter in the rain than eat there again! :lmao:

party::bday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful friend PHORSE!!party::bday:
I had to find just the right cake for you since we all on a diet. It was a challenge but I finally found it:

*Cake shown Actual Size

For those who will be watching food network tonight, my vp's daughter's last name is Gotthelf. I don't know her first name. She is not the main baker but an assistant.

Can't wait to watch! I love the Food Network Challenges.

I can walk kinda fast if I am heading toward a sale or a dessert :)

:lmao::rotfl2: Me too!!! :lmao::rotfl2:

Man, all this talk of these 5K and marathons etc are making me wish I could get to that point--just to walk a 5K would be awesome. Not sure that I ever would though-- my physical issues may not ever improve enough for that. DH used to do 5K and really enjoyed them.

Here's my thoughts on running. Someone else might have a different opinion. Generally when you are adding mileage, the recommendation is no more than 10 percent of your total mileage per week. So, if you are running 3 days a week, 3 miles at a time, you could add one mile that week, safely. The thing with running is, while you might be able to power through a longer run, if you don't have a good base you are taking a chance on an injury that might sideline you for a while. Some of it also depends on what other cardiovascular exercises you have been doing, too. If you've been spending a lot of time walking or on the elliptical, then you already have a bigger mileage base to start from.

Having said all that, google galloway or higdon and look at some of their plans for running a half marathon, and see what you think. If you counted today, we are down to 7 long runs before the princess. For me that meant yesterday I ran 6, next week 12, then 6, then 13, then 6, then 14, then 6 and begin my taper up to the race. If you decide to try it, make sure you have good shoes, and listen to your body. You don't want an injury that will sit you on the bench for weeks.:goodvibes

Wow! Is that all? Isn't it funny how we think the DIS has always been here? ;)

Woo hoo on the 5 mile walk! :woohoo:

There is no question that you ready for the 5K now! :yay:

The question is could you add 1 mile each week and be ready for the half? That would mean you would do 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 miles for your long runs and then the race. But you're supposed to start tapering down before the race to avoid overtraining and injury. It also means that you should not be running the 5K the day before the half.

My schedule between now and the race is 4, 8, 6, 10, 8, 5 and then race.

You are local so if you were swept you would be out the race fees. Registration for the half is 88% full so you would have to decide pretty quickly.

Will you be in FL next year? Could you do the DL half in September? (you are Disneyland Em after all). Could you do the Wine and Dine half in October? If the answer to any of those questions is yes then it might be better to let your 5K be a really fun and relaxing experience and then train for a longer race.

We will be doing a little BL princess meet so you should definately think about joining us for that if you can! princess:

Good luck in your decision! :flower3:

Sounds like fun but aren't you afraid of gators? :scared3:

 Good Morning! Today is a new day and I WILL be on track today.

You can do it! :cheer2: That was a great cake!
