Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

My Weekly Update:

First let me say welcome to our new team members. Posting your weekly numbers is great for motivation. I'm in week 6 now of C25K, which means no more walking intervals for me. It's all straight running now (excluding warm up and cool down of course). It's amazing what you can accomplish in a few short weeks. I can run for at least 20 minutes straight (25 if I make it through tomorrow), when I started with only a minute at a time. My official weight loss so far is 9 pounds (I weigh once per week officially), but it was 12 this morning on my unofficial weigh. So, it's all going pretty well! :goodvibes

My March 8-14 Totals:

Hours: 3:48 (3.8)
Miles: 15.3

Have a great week everyone

March 8 - 14th totals :

Miles - 6.2 (just got over the flu for two weeks, so I took it easy only two days)

Time - 76 min

My plan was to run today, but my DH is taking me to dinner :cool1: and with 4 kids its been over 2 months since we went out alone!

Hi Rabbits!

Saturday, March 8 - Friday, March 14

Total Miles: 69.55
Total Hours: 8:38:47 (8.7)

I hope everyone had a great week and has a good weekend!!

Hey guys! Another week without being able to keep up with my team. Sorry again--work is still crazy and I've been traveling a lot more than I'd hoped. Things should cool off next week and hopefully I can get back into a normal routine. My training did drop off this week due to the traveling. Here are my totals:

36 miles
5.5 hours

Hope everyone had a great week. Enjoy the weekend! Good job, team!

Steve

Hi bunnies...

Not a great week for me...I'm really sorry my numbers have been much lower the past few weeks. Here's what I can offer up from Friday - Saturday:

Miles: 32.8

Hours: 450 minutes/7.5 hours

My totals for this week...

210 minutes/ 3:30
31.4 miles

Most of those miles were from biking due to shin troubles :headache: I think I'm going back to being a walker instead of an aspiring runner. :sad1:

Kathy

Hey team!

Started working out with trainer this week so although hours are up, mileage is down. Going to try to add bike time this week on the days I work out with the Marquis de Sade....

Hours 4:50
Miles 10.2

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

:yay: Wabbits!

I hope you all are enjoying your fitness activities and consequential good health.

My miles and hours for March 8-14 are:

50 miles
8:34 hours

popcorn:: I have to put this guy in here because I have been eating tons of popcorn lately!

Take care,

Teri

Hi Team...

I just wanted to take a moment to say that i think you guys are all doing awesome! :thumbsup2 I know that maybe our numbers aren't as high as some other teams...but that doesn't really matter because what I'm seeing here is a lot of people working REALLY hard despite illness, injury, LTO, etc! And seeing as how most of our miles are sheer pounding the pavement running/walking miles...it is super impressive to see those 300 mile weeks from this group week in and week out!!! My bike miles (thus overall miles) will get lower as my running events ramp up this spring...but that's ok :). In general the Mileage numbers only reflect what form of exercise we choose...not necessarily how hard we work. This competition is about challenging yourself to try new things AND get to know a group of people in a team environment. :goodvibes In that vain...I have to say it's a very successful competition AND I'm super proud of everyone !!!!

So once again....GREAT job! Keep up the great work!!!

Teri: GREAT week! You rocked it :)

Kathy: Don't stress over switching back to all walk. We all have to listen to our body and do what works within our own physical being. I always tell my clients in class "honor your body...listen to what it is telling you". I'll say the same to you. You are putting up impressive workout weeks....if running isn't in the cards it's OK!

Scott: Another stellar week...your workouts are top notch! I love to see the combination of speedy running miles and long outdoor bike rides! Majorly impressed buddy!

Steve: Hope work eases up for you a bit! Still a great week despite everything!

Craig & Martha: Hope you're having loads of FUN in London (ok...I'm a little jealous). Look kids...Big Ben!!! ;)

Stacy, Swim-Mom, TwoWDWfools, Blizzard and ANYONE I missed! Major Kudos!!! :grouphug:

Amy - Very well said. Everyone's training is different. Although it counts the same for the game, my bike mile is different than my run mile which is different from my elliptical mile, etc. I love what you said:

In general the Mileage numbers only reflect what form of exercise we choose...not necessarily how hard we work.

While some may have seen it as an opportunity to count every mile or minute of movement in their regular days, I have personally taken the challenge to increase my XT workouts by 15-30 minutes and extend my bike rides by a few miles.

And I agree that we are all doing a great job with everything!! I think we are a very solid team with a lot of hard earned mileage and minutes on that spreadsheet...great job Rabbits!!

Anyway...I just thought it was a great post and good perspective :goodvibes:

I know I'm not officially a wascally wabbit, but I just wanted to say ditto on everything Amy said. Everyone's training programs is different & will vary over the seasons, racing & otherwise. I know I look forward to the day when I can say my running miles make up the bulk of my week (keep your fingers crossed for me). For me, the best thing about this competition is how it has challenged me to move waaaaay outside my comfort zone, to try new things, and to become a better, healthier WISHer who is proud to consider herself a member of such a great team!

And I just wanted to say that I'm always impressed with how consistent you bunnies are and how hard you're working. :thumbsup2

Not that I'm not looking forward to kicking some bunny butt, mind you. :cool2: :rotfl2: (Even if I have to chase it down first. Maybe I could be your honorary Elmer Fudd?)

 Hi my buddy Deb! Thanks for stopping by!! You are a workout machine btw...and you inspire me to work hard. Your team is rockin' the socks of this competition and it's very impressive.

Scott...yeah...I know you're working hard and changing up the workouts to keep yourself motivated and not hit a plateau. I know your bike mileage will eventually go down too...but right now your numbers are incredible!

Anyway..I just don't want anyone here (myself included) to feel the need to apologize when I know how hard you are all working. Just keep up with your training, challenge yourself to work hard and stay healthy!

Happy Monday, Team !
"Yeah, whatever" say the teaming masses... Monday..<sigh>
Anyway,
Lost some time and effort this week to getting the motorcycle out of storage and getting in some quality 2-wheel time.
Also donated a 1/2 day to seeing Alton Brown. But got his autograph on my old Brain Bucket, so it was a good day !
To get to the point..
19.5 miles, including bonus miles for the NKF5K
And 105 minutes

A good week to all !

Gooooo Team !

"That rabbit's Dynamite"!

Patrick

Hey Gang!

Sorry so late in posting; I haven't been keeping up very well. Life has gotten in the way a lot over the last week or two, but I did get in some time this week (albeit teeny):

6 miles,120 minutes....

- Jeff

Week of March 15-21

Miles: 16.9
Hours: 3:50 (3.83)

Another good week for me. I'm through week 7 now of C25K. I'll start week 8 on Monday. I've lost about 15 pounds since I started, so I'm pretty excited about that. I was looking at the calendar for next month, and it looks like I might be able to run a local 5K on Apr 20. That would fit in really well with my planned training.

Onward and Upward! :cheer2:

What's up Rabbits?!?!?

Here are my totals for the week of March 15-21:

Total miles
: 41.13
Total hours: 6:32:01 (6.53)

I missed out on a bike ride last Saturday that cost me an hour and 20 miles :(

Anyway...the next week should be pretty solid for me. Tomorrow I'm doing a local 5k and then heading out to the trail for a 20 mile ride. I'm going after a PR tomorrow...with my current best at 24:32, I'm going to see if I can break the 24 minute barrier (nothing like putting pressure on myself!!) I figure if I post it here then I'll have even more incentive to push myself a little 'cause I do not want to come back and not have met my goal ;)

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing good out there! Keep putting in those QUALITY miles and hours :goodvibes:

Congrats again Krista on finding out that it's a boy! Maybe you should name him Harry....HAREy...hare...rabbit...get it :confused3 ....

....maybe not.... :rotfl:

Hi everyone!

I had planned to run 3 days, but I had to toss my Wed run due to a midterm for grad school........sorry. So here I go:

Week of March 15-21

6.2 miles
74 minutes

I will be running tomorrow, to make up for Wed.........can that count??? Just thought I would ask :)

Hi guys...

Quick post with my numbers:

3 Runs, 1 Bike, 1 Walk, a bunch of Pilates Classes nets me:

36.25 Miles
660 Minutes aka 11 Hours

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Good morning fellow bunnies! Remember me? I've been so MIA on the boards but NOT on the training front. I've tried to keep up but work is crazy. We had a wonderful time in London and logged about 3 hours of walking for the week's totals.

Unfortunately, I came down with a miserable cold. It seems like each time I've flown this year, I've come down with some illness. I don't know how people fly so much and don't get sick more often. Yuck!!

Then, when I got back from London, all he** had broken loose at work and had to deal with that. But the best part was when my Dad called and said my Mom's surgery went well. SURGERY!?!! What surgery? No one told me about any surgery. Gee, thank a lot!!

That said, I did get in a good speed workout and a session with my trainer to add to the walk about in London.

Amy: awesome numbers! You go girl!!

swim-mom: hope the mid-term went well.

Krista, Steve: it's a boy!? Congratulations. Steve, did that make you walk around like a poof-out peacock for a few days? A son to carry on the family name.

ScoJo15: LOVED the Harry joke!

blizzard: WTG on losing 15 pounds! That's so great. A 5K sounds like fun and you should definitely do it.

Patrick: Alton Brown? THE Alton Brown as in chef Alton Brown from food network? LOVE that guy. DH is an Alton Brown disciple. Did you get any pictures?

Calcio: smoochy, smoochy

Hope everyone is doing well and avoiding sickness!

Good Morning Everyone

I have the numbers up through here in the score sheet. Keep them coming and I'll get them into the overall results.

Patrick - you met my culinary idol! I love his scientific and mathematical approach to cuisine. I especially love W and Deb, the nutritional anthropologist.

Carol - good for you. I'm having trouble even getting 5 off.

SwimMom - what is your field of study? I hope it wasn't too difficult. I'm facing the opposite situation today, I have 65 finance midterms which I need to get graded this weekend.

Scott - good luck with that sub-24. Since you've thrown down the gauntlet, you have to bring home the result. You are correct, it is a lot of pain, but for only a short while. I remember in my younger and faster days 5 k's were the worst, because I was in pain every second of the course. I literally would could down on my watch, 15 minutes of pain left, 14 minutes . . .

Amy

I don't know how you get in all those hours. You must the the most flexible, fit, and balanced person around here.

Martha

Get better, please. And please don't give it to me, really please.

I have a speed workout today, but I'll wait for it to hopefully warm up. It's about 30 and really windy right now and I need to do mile repeats on the track. Running downwind is fine, but when you turn back into it, it's pure hell.

Krista and Steve - congratulations to you both. Steve now gets the chance to teach his son to scratch, spit, and all the manly skills. Krista has the important job of mitigating those lessons.

Craig
