OK, I'm a Kdg. teacher and it's report card time. I have one student whose attitude has gone from amazing to downright terrible in the past quarter (since Mom & Dad took the tv away!). He's been name calling, lying, disrespectful, discourteous, etc.

I cannot come up w/something that sounds appropriate for the comments on his report card!!!!

Can you help me out!?!? Thanks!

I don't suppose "your kid is turning into a brat" would cut it huh :lmao: .

You could list things like "having difficulty listening to directions", "does not play well with others", "fabricating stories to get out of trouble".

I had one teacher put "questions authority" on DS13's report card in first grade. Her problem was that when they went to music class the first time he asked the music teacher who she was (thus the questioning part). He was new to the school and I though that was a fair question.

I always try to 'sandwich' bad comments as follows:

Nice comment
truth
Nice comment

Johnny has been doing very well in reading.
The recent change in his usual happy demeanor has caused some conflict with peers and teachers.
His overall academic progress is wonderful.

Nice!

*makes note in future teacher handbook*

Thanks, Lanshark ... that is so appropriate and I'm copying it verbatim (except for the name change!).

Warmly,

Daxx
