We have a new principal this year and he's asked us to briefly write about our teaching strategy/philosophy. I can't find my original strategy/philosopy, so I've put this together. Please let me know how it sounds and your thoughts. BTW, I teach Kdg. Thanks!
My teaching strategy is to be creative, engaging, and entertaining in the classroom in order to make an impact and have my students remember the information I'm teaching. I believe in encouraging students to pursue and expand their interests, to take our topics to new levels based on what theyd like to further persue outside of the curriculum. My stragegy is to employ various teaching methodologies including discussions (entire class and smaller groups), lectures, and student presentations and to not limit education to listening, but to engage the students visually, and whenever possible, use their senses of touch, smell, and taste.
I will always attempt to convey my great enthusiasm for the all subjects I teach. In doing so, I hope students will pay better attention and ultimately come to share my passion for those subjects. My strategy includes being kind, compassionate, understanding and encouraging to my students.
