Teacher traveling to Disney

Great ideas! Since we're not allowed to give out candy as of Sept. I think a class gift to play with or pencils/erasers/stickers are the way to go.

As for the gift bag with napkins, etc. in it-you'd be surprised how many little kids would be VERY excited to "win" that.

The bags of Mickey pretzels might be a nice treat for snacktime too. I don't think they should be THAT expensive either or are they...? It's also getting them home without crushing them. What a mess that would be! :sunny:

I just want to add that I think you are very sweet to do something so nice for your class.

Thanks. I have a daughter going into first grade this fall....so we need double the treats!!!

Everyone LOVES Disney!!!

1) Get cheap stuff
2) As long as it is a Disney item, they won't care
1) If you have a car
. . . follow signs to Animal Lingdom Lodge
. . . turn left at last light and go out the West Gate, near AKL
. . . turn Right on Hwy 192
. . . there are three souvenir shops with cheap stuff

*How about some Disney theme park edition board games to keep in your classroom?? For rainy days when recess is inside. My board games are my fave disney souvenir ever!!! They have Chutes and Ladders & Candy Land to Haunted Mansion Clue.

*Whenever I see the park maps I always think how mush fun it would be to use them while teaching kids how to read maps in school. I am not a teacher but, I bet you can think of 100 other things to do with those maps!

*There are also such great stencils and arts and crafts around Disney World!

*What the Mickey Shaped pasta? I bet you can make jewelry, and crafts with those!

In the past, my wife has purchased the chocolate coins & packets of pencils for her students. The things the kids enjoyed the most were free though...at certain table service restaurants, she's told the servers that she was a teacher & asked if she could buy 30 of the stickers they give to children or 30 of the "silly straws" that most of the children's drinks come with & they've always just brought them to us & told us not to worry about paying for them.

For my First Graders, I usually bought several bags of the gummy Mickey heads as well as several bags of Mickey head pretzels. For snack the day I returned (if we went over a holiday break) the kids would each get several of each item to eat. They really loved a little piece of the magic.

You guys have the best ideas. Last trip I did pencils and the stickers. not this time, I will be more creative. Thanks to you all! :woohoo:

I teach first grade and my class loves the Disney Mr. Potato head pieces I brought back several years ago. I have a big bin full of several heads and pieces. It is a favourite rainy day recess activity. I have also brought back pencils and Mickey head lollipops. They will love whatever you bring.

I teach first grade and visited WDW during Spring Break this year. I mailed a postcard to each of my 26 students as all kids love getting mail at home. One little girl kept drawing pictures of Mickey with me so I wrote on her postcard that I showed one of them to Mickey and that he loved it. She talked about that for the rest of the year. I also bought the Mickey head lollipops and told them that Mickey had sent them. My kids know I am a Disney fan so I told them before I left that I would tell Mickey what a great group they were.

I've always gotten stickers at the Downtown WD store. I give them out as the first pride point reward at school. My students have always known I'm Disney obsessed. I taught middle school and even they got excited about the stickers. I also get pencils and stuff from the dollar store when I can and use them as rewards even though they aren't from Disney.

Thanks for all the great ideas......I leave in two weeks and can't wait to see the items that I actually return home with.

Thanks again.
