Need help do not know if this is the right place to place this but here goes...
I need help I am tutoring a sixth grader in writing and editing skills and looking for good websites to help me out...
Any ideas would be appreciated..
thanks.,.

I'm not sure how many responses you'll get, but hopefully this info will help. If your student needs basic organization strategies (paragraph & essay), you might want to check out www.stepuptowriting.com or google Step Up to Writing and there is a site that has info for parents. If your student has the basic organization down and needs to work on voice, etc. you might want to check out http://senior.billings.k12.mt.us/6traits/ for Six Traits of Writing.

You might want to post this on the Community Board. There are alot of teachers with alot of great ideas over there!

thanks so much jeanne...
Not really sure what she needs this is just what her parents have told me...I am going to have to give her some type of assesstment when I meet her....thanks...

I'd also check your state's education website. I'm sure they have some sort of standardized assessments as well as standards/criteria (the curriculum standards that are supposed to be taught at each grade and level - each state calls them something different). The state will often have some links and practice sites for their own assessments.

Try the textbooks companies websites that your student is using too.
