Teacher Discounts in April at Dolphin..?

Hi...Has anyone been able to secure Teacher Discount rates at Dolphin from April 17th -23rd?

I don't know about those dates, but a colleague of mine tried for the end of March, calling direct (she said) and couldn't get one. She wanted to stay there while our band performed there, but the band is offsite and she wanted onsite.
I got one for 12/29, so I don't know why they would offer them for busy holiday week and not 2 weeks before Easter.

We were able to get the teachers rate for that week last year- we checked in on Easter and stayed 6 nights. I even remember that we called to book it on Halloween !

I booked a stay at the Dolphin for March 27-April 3 using the teacher discount. I had two nights booked previously and just called tonight to book the additional 5 nights.

we are going those dates on the nurses rate and friend is using the teachers rate. although we did book almost a year in advance. I think you will not have a problem good luck

Hi, and thanks for your replies! I did try, and was told that due to a large convention in at those dates, the Teacher Rates would not be available because so many of the rooms were booked. They did say to call back to see, if perhaps, there were changes in any of those reservations. For the past 5 years I've been able to secure the Teacher Rate during that busy April Vacation week, so I was surprised that wasn't the case this year. I'll keep trying and if anyone has any current updates about this, I would really appreciate them! Thanks again~

I did get the teacher discount for April 7 - 15th. I booked at the beginning of Sept... I just pu t your dates in on the DU website and it says they have availability!!!!! (That is what I did for ours!) Check it out!

Just what I was going to add Sarahsmom. Try to book through DU. They have been able to get me the teacher discount when calling direct could not. Good luck!

I booked 4/24-5/2 on a teacher's discount rate at the dolphin. I booked it at the end of July. At 4:30 pm, they told me there was no way there was a room available. I called back at 8 pm that same night to clarify on if this was a firm or changable situation. Well, it was changable alright. I was able to book the room at that point.

I've never been to WDW before, so I have nothing to compare this experience of mine to.

I thought I'd share my story all the same since it seemed relevant to your question. Maybe those with more experience can elucidate.

Calling Dreams Unlimited sounds like a good plan. They may even be able to let you know when rooms become available if they are currently reserved for conventions. Many times convention groups reserve large blocks of rooms and then release them when they aren't booked.
