teacher appreciation gifts

I tend to do a small gift each day during teacher appreciation week (usually under $1/day cost)

This year:
Monday- small bag Bear Creek soup mix w/ a note that said :You are a "souper" teacher!
Tuesday- Popcorn bucket from $ tree, micro popcorn, a couple cans of soda, some candy, Mrs. Field's cookies (individually wrapped) and a free rental from blockbuster with a note that said: Popping in to let you know that we appreciate you!
Wednesday- handwritten notes from my kids to thank their teachers
Thursday- School sponsored pot luck lunch, I'm sending in pasta salad and both teachers will get a candle w/ a sappy teacher poem attached
Friday- Candy bar poem on poster board.

The K class collected up to $5 from each family- I'm picking up a gift certificate to a local teacher supply store. All kids will sign the card (which is actually an autograph picture frame) regardless of contribution.

I don't do an end of the year gift typically, but my daughter's K teacher is fresh out of college and I'm making her a little scrapbook of her first year of teaching.

Other ideas.... Bag of starlight mints :"We appreciate your commitMINT"
M&Ms We think you are Magnificent and Marvelous!
Bag of peanuts/nuts- We are NUTS about you!
mini fan- I'm your biggest FAN!
School supplies- At xyz school, we are lucky to have the best SUPPLY of teachers.
100 grand bar - you deserve this every payday
Payday bar- Wish we could give you an extra payday
Take 5 bar- Here's an extra break for you!

I am one of "those PTO moms" who spend way too much time volunteering at the school because we have so few who can and I think that the list you were sent is excessive as well. I have organized the PTO's week for TA with something every day but we would never expect the students to do something every day.

We had teacher appreciation week last week for my dd K5 class. Of course, I participated because we LOVE her teacher!! This is what we got her:
Mon - scrapbook day - 12 theme sheets/letters
Tues - candle day - 2 sm. candles($1 ea.)
Wed - pamper day - basket w/lotion and bath gel
Thurs. - inspirational books/flavored coffee - made a cheesecake poundcake and put 2 sm. bags of flavored coffee in with it
Fri. - camera day/pic frames - a pack of film w/a frame

At the end of the yr. they are taking up money for a gift card but we wanted to do a bag full of summer stuff cause she likes going to the beach. We've had a really good time with her class, parents, and the teacher this yr. We are making the kids(13) all a t-shirt with their class pic on the front saying, "Class of 2018" .
