I know a lot of girls do the tea party for the girls, and I was just wondering how much this costs and how would I go about doing that?

Edited: Oh and pics please!

x2.. looks hell acute.. i have a lot of little girls coming to mine.. this would be fabulous!! i may have to budget for this!( if reasonable):rotfl2:

I had a bridal tea party at the Grand Floridian and loved it. (If you want to see pics PM and I will send you a link). It was very relaxing and felt elegant. The one thing is they do not allow speeches or gift giving at the event.

I contacted them and spoke with a special girl that dealt with groups. I believe the maximum amount of people you can have is 25. Then she will send you specific menus. You have to know what menu selection everyone is ordering before hand. At 48 hours out you need to give a head count and the numbers of each menu selection you want. The menu selections started at about $12 for a child, $16 for cheapest adult and ranged way up from there to ones that were $50 that included special alcohal and such. Each menu selection includes your choice of tea in a teapot and then various tea snacks like biscuits, pastries, sandwichs. I will try to find the menu to post it if you would like.

What I did is calculated the cost of the menu selection plus tip and tax. And had everyone RSVP with the selection they wanted. And then the day of they brought the right amuont of cash to bring to a designated collector.

You do have to give a credit card number when you make the initial reservation but it is not charged. They hold it incase you just don't show up. But you can cancel the whole thing 48 hours out and not lose money. Let me know if you had any other questions.

I found the menu for the group selections...

would it be tacky to set this up for the adies coming to my wedding and asking them to pay for it themselves? I think it would be fun.. but idk if i can fit it into the budget ;/

Why don't you make it a come-if-you-want-to event. If you hold it on one of the days leading up to the wedding I do not think it would be at all unxepected if your guests are asked to pay. If it is on the wedding day I presume people would expect you to pay.

i think thats a good plan.. but dont i have to tell them how many people will be going? as to reserve a table or what not?? this crap is all so confusing anymore lol

For my tea, I included information in the newsletters and told everyone how much the cost would be for them. I did pay for my flowergirl, bridesmaids, mom, grandma, and aunts so I just told them directly that they wouldn't have to worry about paying. Plus, the tea room allowed my Disney Dining Experience Discount (20%) to be applied to everyone's bill so each person saved some! No one was offended or upset that I didn't pay. We did this for several meals and events that weekend.

We had people RSVP for all group reservations and events, so we could have accurate counts.

There are options to do the more expensive private Mad Hatter Tea Party, but that was way out of my budget ;)

These were my invitations; I included them in my welcome folders. The image is technically for the more expensive parties, but no one in my group knew the difference :goodvibes

We did the Buckingham which worked out to be around $20 each since the Disney Dining Experience discount covered most of the tax and gratuity. My flowergirl was the only child with us and hers was $11.

I have no idea what the minimums are for the mad hatter party, but I do know that there was no way that we would have been able to afford a private event- just the room rental plus food alone was out of our budget.
