Where are some good places to get tea on the resort? Specifically looking for both a place to get good tea to drink and a place to buy leaf tea for bringing home.

I am planning to bring my espro tea press/thermos and loose leaf tea from home and get hot water from the resort each morning. Would love to know if there are other options though!

Be careful- we couldn't get hot enough water for a cup of tea. After 5 days of no tea, I nearly cried when I tasted the swill they served me. Blurgh!

Wait is it premade Lipton sludge like from a kerig machine and that's why there is no hot water? No hot water is going to be a big issue for both me and my husband who will want to make coffee. He won't drink the stuff there, he will want to bring the beans he roasted.

No, "English Breakfast Tea" (apparently) at Crystal Palace! I asked why I couldn't have hotter water, and was told it was a safety issue? Tea doesn't work unless water is just boiled, and they wouldn't brew it in the kitchen with boiling water and bring it to me when it was "cool enough" either.

One very unimpressed Brit here. I run on tea. I had serious withdrawal at WDW.

Tried the "hot water" at the quick service refill thing at the resort too. It was warm, not hot!

You're going to make me cry. I was raised by someone from Northern Ireland so our home runs on tea also and yes that is NOT the proper way to make a cup. I wonder if I can get a campfire stove in my room....

Tea lovers take a hit at WDW. I've never been served a hot enough pot of water for my tea, even at the signatures that offer a selection of teas. The food court hot water dispensers really arent hot enough. You can thank the McDonalds coffee scalding lawsuit for that. The coffee maker in your room will give you hot enough water, though.

I want to explore the teas at the new Disney Springs tea store on our next trip. From what I've read, they've got some interesting ones. And I'm pretty sure we can expect them to make a decent cuppa there.

We tried the coffee maker. Made my tea taste of coffee, and I can't even stomach the smell! Yuck!

Parents ask for hot water to make food for babies, it's the reason that you can't have boiling water.

Any chance there are some microwaves around the resort? In a pinch I'm willing to microwave some hot water until it boils just so I can have a cup of tea.

Tea lovers take a hit almost everywhere in the US. Coffee makers with hot water dispensers at the top are ubiquitous, and they're simply not hot enough. Even in the McDonald's lawsuit the water was only 180-190 degrees, which is hot enough to cause serious burns but not hot enough for proper brewing of whole leaf tea. While I'll tolerate hot tea in restaurants (other than Lipton's, which is awful), the only time I've ever had really good tea at a US establishment is at specialty tea houses (and even there, they can be unpredictable). When I make tea at home, I pour boiling water into the pot, brew for typically 3-4 minutes, then let it cool off for another 5-10 minutes.

If you're desperate for good tea in the morning, stay at a villa with a microwave or stove, or bring your own hot water device. My next trip will be during hot weather, so I don't anticipate getting hot tea, anyway.

I feel your pain. I'm an American who knows what proper tea tastes like thanks to my many trips abroad. I try to stay at places that provide microwaves, sad to say. My DH is Italian (from Italy) and feels the same pain when trying to get a decent caffe macchiato - his (and many Italian's) chosen way of starting the day! I'm tempted to bring my own electric kettle, but would need to find a miniature one...

As far as places to bring leaf tea home from....Epcot has Twinnings Tea store and there's a tea store I believe at Disney springs too. I remember seeing one but not stopping in it at it.

Starbucks may have tea hot enough, I don't know for sure though.

I make loose leaf tea in my room all the time. I travel with my own tea and a tea ball. If staying in a mod or deluxe, just run water through the coffee pot once to rinse out any residual coffee, then run it again for your tea. If staying in a value, there are microwaves in the food courts. You can get a limited supply of loose leaf tea at Twinnings in GB in Epcot, all the disney stores actually have a loose leaf tea in a canister and have the tea presses for sale as well.

I consider Twinings good tea, but nothing special. The Spice and Tea Exchange in DTD/Disney Springs looks more interesting. But as I indicated in that other thread, I buy mostly single-estate whole leaf teas from Upton Tea, online.

I order all my tea from upton but I think I am going to give the new shop is Disney springs a shot.

I get really good.teas at the Spice and Tea exchange. They have one in Gatlinburg and every time I go there I get something really nice. I have also bought some at the Disney Springs location. I think it's good.

Twinings is my every day tea. You might see some special holiday teas at the Great Britain shop.

Does anyone know what kind of tea the Writer's Stop has?
