Strange question, but does anyone know if you can PG tips in Walmart. We are taking DDs boyfriend with us this trip and he has to have tea every morning
I don't think I've ever seen PG tips in Walmart/Publix. We always take a start-up supply of tea bags with us, and then top up with whatever we can find out there - usually Liptons. If DD's BF has to have PG tips brand, I think he'd be better off taking them with him!
Where will you be staying? If you will be in a hotel, be aware that kettles aren't usually supplied (although you may be able to get one from housekeeping, on request) and I find tea made in the coffee makers takes awful because the water doesn't boil and there's always a residual coffee taste.
yep they do do tea bags in walmart and in some of the smaller supermarkets, walmart have an english isle, it sells stuff like squash, robinsons, froot shoots, ketchup, beans, pg tips, english chocolate, custard curry and gravy...lol, bit expensive though, maybe just pack some x
I love my tea. Tetley is my favorite and I can't get it in orlando. I alway put a bunch in a ziplock bag. Enough for several cups a day. The tea bags squish flat (then I ziplock the bag) and don't take up any room. Saves time running around looking for tea!!
You can definitely get PG Tips down the 'ethnic aisle' at most Publix supermarkets, naturally more expensive though.
Often they have Tetley and Yorkshire Tea also.
I also think its a tad on the weak side too (tea that is), but it could possibly be the water as well. It's v chlorinated, or whatever you call it. I usually have to use bottled water to brush my teeth.
They use Nestea and it doesn't have the full flavour of PG Tips. I would rather take my own. DD who was 7 on our trip last year wanted her cuppa in the evening and complained that it "tastes like nothing, Mum!" I used 2 teabags for her cup after that and she said it was better, but it made it stronger without adding much flavour if that makes sense. YOu could easily squish 200 bags into your luggage without it making any difference whatsoever to the space and weight, which is what I will do next time.
Lol, I did the same thing on our last trip and I left in it there to brew for a long time too. Do you think its best to pack the bags as they are in the box they come in, or should you put them in a container loose?
If he absolutely HAS to have PG Tips, I would definitely take them with you. MIL did, when we went with them, but she ran out and wouldn't drink anything else so we ended up paying an extortionate amount of money for a box of 10 tea bags (think it was near enough $10)
