A friend & I are going to tea. Not sure what to order though.
We have a 230ish tea time, Boma dinner that night at 7pm

when i was there last (2 years ago) i had the buckingham palace with chamomile tea - very nice, and filling!

the sandwiches were good, but i thought the bread were a bit dry (not stale, just dry) - the scones were very good, especially the devonshire cream - i could eat a bowl of that alone! - chose the pastries (a swan with cream, and some pale pink thing, don't remember what exactly) - both really good

i picked chamomile because that day, i wasn't feeling very adventureous (had a sore throat, just wanted something familiar) - noticed several women getting tea in their press pots that were bright red (maybe the vanilla rooibos?) - next time, i'd get that, just for the color alone!

i've done this tea several times (also dragging alone both my DS and DH, neither of which appreciated the fine art of afternoon tea....) - have always enjoyed the beauty of that room, the quietness and the dainty foods!

We always order the grand tea - for $25 you get a glass of champagne, a plate of tea sandwiches, a scone and jam tart with delightful devonshire cream, and a final choice of tea pastries, trifle, or strawberries and cream. Oh yeah ... you get a pot of tea, too!! :lmao:

Here's a link to a review I did of our most recent afternoon tea experience - there are some good pictures that will give you a better idea of what to expect if you order the grand tea.

Hope you enjoy it!
