Ummmm, I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes here but is there any interest in this type of exchange or does somebody else already run it? I hope you guys know what I mean by tea towels. We all speak English but sometimes mean different things! :rotfl: I'm talking about the towels you use to dry dishes in the kitchen. Do you get souvenir ones over the pond? I saw a really neat one in town that I am sure would be a real hit. They seem quite inexpensive plus they are small and lightweight so postage would be minimal.

Also can anybody run an exchange? I've only taken part in one so far, soon to be two. Am I qualified enough? :worried:

anyone can run an exchange. ::yes::
Nutsy ran the last tea towel one.
I found out, I can't find souvenir type towels here :( Not sure about other US locations.
If you decide to run one, let Pooh67_68 know so she can post it on the list and let me know, and I will send you the list of nonsenders.

I guessed and yes, you were from the UK! My favorite tea towel has different sorts of sea birds that I bought in Orkney Island! The only sort that I remember seeing over here are the fuzzy towels.
Bobbi:)

not so very interesting ones here. I have my MIL bring them from Holland!
Good luck, hopefully you will find some "takers"

Aaaaaw, it's a shame that souvenir towels are not common in the USA. :( It would have been a fun exchange if they were.

Interestingly, I just found a tea towel that my sister brought home from the Azores! Yes, they certainly are more popular in Europe!
Bobbi:)

Hey Sarah:wave:

I can get souvenir ones here;)

ETA.. I know Alaska has souvenir ones.. cuz I have some:goodvibes

I can get some here as well!!!!
This would have been a fun exchange!

I was in a shop this morning and saw the prefect tea towel for this exchange. So we can find souvenir towels in the US.

Oooooh seems like this one might work after all. I guess that any tea towel would do? You do get some really pretty ones that are not souvenir ones. Does that sound good? Dare I pluck up the courage to try and get this one off the ground at some point? I might have a wee look to see if this can be squeezed in on the list. :goodvibes

If pretty or seasonal ones are okay, I can find those. I have yet to see one that wasn't "homemade" in a souvenir style here.

Oooooh seems like this one might work after all. I guess that any tea towel would do? You do get some really petty ones that are not souvenir ones. Does that sound good? Dare I pluck up the courage to try and get this one off the ground at some point? I might have a wee look to see if this can be squeezed in on the list. :goodvibes

You go girl:moped:

As for the tea towels, I'd say that anything nice (not cheap) would be ok, but that's up to you. Souvenir ones are nice though as like a postcard you get to see and learn a bit about a different place.:goodvibes

Well thanks to all the interest and encouraging messages I have decided to run my first exchange. Sign-ups will start on 25th July. It will not just be souvenir teatowels, any pretty or seasonal ones will do just as good. Hope lots of you can join in the fun! :goodvibes

Oh sugar, that means I need to organise a trip to the city sometime very soon to pick up some tea towels.
