I am just not getting this:

I made some purchases at The Disney Store with tax totaling $72.39, then had a free Stitch coupon. The CM scanned the Stitch plush in as $10 (it was on sale), then scanned the coupon to take $10 off and I get a subtotal now of $77.00 ($4.61 more after the "free" Stitch) plus an additional $3.99 (?) tax for a grand total of $80.99! I even asked the CM and she assured me the register would have adjusted everything correctly. I had an appointment and didn't have the time then to pursue it but here's how my receipt reads:

all the items and taxes then,

Total $72.39
14" Stitch as Dog 10.00
ITM Promo Disc -10.00
Subtotal $77.00
NC 7.00 % tax 3.99
Total $80.99

Any CM's or anyone out there that can explain what I can't see? Or is this a goof? It was a manager that assured me that the receipt was correct so it's got me doubting my math skills! I could understand paying an additional .70 (NC 7% tax) on the Stitch but $3.99?

I'm on my way back to the store to make a return and I'm going to ask about this again. Thanks for any help in advance :)

It looks to me like they may have taken 10% off your order instead of $10 for the free stitch, thus bringing your total to about $80. There are prompts on the register to either take $$(dollars) off or %(percentage) off a transaction, and the wrong prompt may have been activated, thus not giving you the full $10 off. Yes, the register "figures" things correctly, but it has to be prompted in the correct manner.

Only guessing that this could be part of the issue, but I would suggest taking the receipt back into the store and asking them to look it over to just make sure the correct item promo was applied.

Thanks mickey4ver, maybe that's what happened. It's not such a great amount or anything - it just didn't make any sense to me :)

DOUBLE CHECK THOSE TDS RECEIPTS!!!

A couple weeks ago, I made a purchase at TDS and used my Disney Club discount. Upon inspection of my receipt at home, they did not take off the 10%. The receipt actually shows where it took off the 10%, but it really didn't!
