We made our reservation through the Royal Club concierge about a month agao. the only time we could get for the whole weekend was 9:00 on Sunday March 23, which was fine we often eat late.
We were seated right away at a nice table in the back corner (away from the door).
We had a nice waiter, can't remember his name. they work in teams, I can tell his other two team mates were new! Didn't have a clue!
The restaurant is beautiful!!!! The lighting is an art form, the walls, the carvings, the waterfall on the wall, the little stram of water in the middle of the row of tables just beautiful!
We orded dumplings to start, only four small ones for $7.00. they were good but not great.
For dinner I had the Kobe Beef short rib with rice and ham hocked beans $19.00. It was delicious and large! meat fell right off the bone.
My DH had the Hawaiian style dinner platter $20.00. it had smoked ribs, grilled chicken, kalua pork, rice, macaroni salad and slaw on the plate. Huge and delicious!!!!
We had the pineapple upside down cake with ginger ice cream for dessert $6.00. Tiny but good.
Two drinks, since we already had plenty of wine on club level! ;)
I tried the original Mai Tai Roa Ae. Man that was good and strong too! I forget what Kevin had (probably crown and ginger).
The bill total was $78.00!! Not bad, we thought!
Yummy, we'll be back.

Thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to our dinner there in May!

Yes, they serve lunch. I'm thinking I should make my reservation soon for my trip in May - sounds as though I could have left it too late already.

No time like the present, I figured, so I've just made my reservation for 7.30pm on Thursday, 22 May!

Our family had lunch at Tchoup Chop this past Friday, 3/21. It was a great experience. The service was excellent. We were there with our two DS's (13 & 9) and the servers were great with them. We had been at the studios prior to taking the boat over to RPR for our lunch and my 9 y/o and DH had picked up some
small citrus fruits that had fallen from a tree near the Cafe La Bamba at USF. DS had them laid out on the table at lunch and was calling them little lemons. Our waitress looked at them and said she thought they were kumquats but she'd check with the chef. She came back with a bowl for all his fruit and told us all about kumquats! This was even before we had ordered drinks. The boys loved the attention. In general, the servers were VERY
attentive as to our drinks, utensils, etc.

On to the food! If you go you MUST order the Crunchy Shrimp
appetizer. They were outrageously good. The shrimp are wrapped in very fine crunchy noodles (they look like shredded wheat!) in a very good sauce which I believe was a hot/sour
sauce. Each shrimp is served atop a leaf of butter lettuce which you then wrap around the shrimp and pick up and eat. Very different and scrumptious. For my entree, I had the mahi-mahi
wrapped in banana leaf. The fish was excellent, very moist and
flavorful but on the side was a relish that was too spicy for my
taste. DH had the Hawaiian style dinner (mixed grill) which was mentioned by CPM. It also was very good. I especially liked the macaroni salad which was very different in that it was made with a mustard based sauce. Interesting and very tasty. There was no specific children's menu but DS9 loves shrimp toast so he made that his entree and was very happy. They were huge! DS13 had the large portion of chicken fried rice which he enjoyed very much. He even ate the bean sprouts which was amazing for him! Oh, I forgot: We ordered a side of the sauteed green beans which were more like pole beans sauteed with a pork/soy
mixture. Very good. For dessert, DH had the pineapple upside
down cake which he thought was good but not spectacular. I had the coconut creme brulee which I loved (but then again, I'm a creme brulee junkie!).

All in all a very enjoyable dining experience. We would definitely do it again.

That's really what i wanted for dessert, but they ran out! :( They also had chocolate creme brulee.

Thanks for the review and comments. I'm drooling. I called Tchoup Chop on March 12th and made reservations for Sept. 12th! You can make ressies up to six months ahead. Better to do it now, you can always cancel (like you'd ever want to !). Also, REMEMBER, you MUST confirm those reservations the day before or up to 3 p.m. the day of the ressie OR you lose it! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

The staff will make any dinner reservations for you, give directions or anything else you need. they really make club level great!
The rooms are the same. You can request a view but can't book one. It's a small club level with only 42 rooms on that floor.
Anything else?

ennisb,
you can make reservations for Tchoup Chop now and I highly recommend it. I called the restaurant directly 407-503-2467. And again, a reminder, I was told to call to confirm my ressie anytime the day before on up to 3 p.m. the day of my ressie or I'll lose it !They'll take your ressie up to 6 months in advance-to the day! For the other restaurants, I've been waiting. I heard that you can't make them more them 45 days in advance or has anyone heard differently? Of course if I have some time I might try sooner ( my trip is 9/11). The Universal Dining Line is 407-224-9255.....
