I have just been online to pay some more off my balance with TCD. We are flying July 2006 and booked in June 2005. As we are a party of seven I wanted to get the best possible prices. Out of curiosity I checked how much the flights had increased since our booking; same dates, same car etc. Imagine my disbelief when I found they have now reduced the total cost of our holiday by over £400!! Is there anything I can do or do I just have to 'put up with it'? I sincerely believed them when they encouraged me to book early safe in the knowledge that as the number of available seats decreased then the prices would only go up. Help!!

Unfortunately all operators work on a 'fluid' pricing structure so prices CAN go up or down. If you've paid more than £400 deposit then its not worth changing it but keep an eye on it and if it drops by a difference more than the deposit you've paid then cancel and rebook!
So ,no, you can't actually 'do' anything about it! You wouldn't be bothered if it had gone up dramatically.

It is frustrating when this happens! I always console myself with the thought that at least when I have booked I know I have exactly the right flight and there is no danger of missing out :)

My thoughts exactly. Sometimes we find prices go up sometimes down, swings and roundabouts really.

Have you spoken to TCD, it's a long shot but they may give you the lower price. I had flights booked to Canada 2 years ago with Canadian Affair and they honoured the lower price.

If you don't ask you don't get, but bear in mind they are within their rights to increase or lower prices whenever they like, supply and demand etc.

If not at least you know you were guaranteed your dates and you are going to the World :cool1:

It is worth trying, but as this is TCD they are very striclty by the book and generally good will is not thier thing. But it never hurts to ask.

Exactly!

My preference is to always book early so I am guaranteed my holiday and when I book I look for the best price AT THE TIME, after it is booked I DO NOT check prices anywhere else or for the same operator as sods law says the day you do it will be cheaper!
