tcd cheap flights

hi all

my dh had to ring tcd this morning as we received another bill for our flights for next thursday already annoyed with ourselves as we feel that we have paid far too much this time for flights anyway the chap said that at the moment tcd have flights fo sept and jan from£59 not including the taxes etc.

hope someone out there could make use of these flights i just feel frustrated at the disparity in price for the sake of a few weeks.

I think with TCD once you get below 10 weeks to departure, the price keeps falling until the plane is full. I booked 14 weeks out for September and at 10 weeks out the price fell by £60 per person for the flight. However the fuel surcharge has just gone up by £10pp and villa charges are also spiralling upwards. Only the car hire pack so far is unchanged probably due to the fact that TCD are sending out pre printed flyers with the car hire prices on them.

We fly in 31 days with tcd and haven't had any extra to pay...(yet)

We did however get a great deal back in Feb (not as good as £59)
3 adults: Flights and taxes + Car (all insurance) + Family Room at Best Western Plaza all for £950

I just hope the flight isn't like so many tcd horror stories I've read on this forum...

The demand during school holiday time allows this to happen. Once my daughter leaves school we will go twice a year. All the companies are the same and you need to book early to get the flight and time you want.

I'm surprised more people aren't flying with British Airways. I checked them out after looking at TCD (as I was worried about Air Atlanta and the bad reviews) and in the end I booked with BA. I did a price comparison for a fly-drive and it cost £127 more to fly BA and rent a car through BA/Avis with full insurance (no extras when you get there) for both my husband and I. £720 for the flights (on a Boeing 777 into Orlando International) and £220 for car with insurance.

It would have been nice to save the £64 per person but I really didn't want to risk flying with Air Atlanta and i've heard that sometimes if the planes have troubles you get swapped over to an Air Atlanta flight.

So definitely check out BA before going!

We also got a great villa quite cheap from floridasunshine.com. It was £10 cheaper than with TCD..not much savings but still, £10 is £10!

I booked my flights with TCD six weeks ago at £240 each. so thats a saving of £240 between 2 of us compared to BA.

Will that £240 be worth a lower class of travel, I'll let you know when we get back

I hope you have a great flight because I haven't totally written off TCD for future holidays. We just felt as this was our first time that it would be nice to fly with someone we were sure about (i've never flown charter before so I have my reservations). But I spoke to TCD and they were definitely the friendliest customer service people around and they have the best prices on Disney tickets etc.

I too like the look of BAs prices but going during the school holidays is three times more than at the other times.

Just think in a few years times we can go three times a year for the same price. Must get some more DVC points!!!!

I know people have had problems, but I never have. I have always flown on the TCD own brand flights though and make sure those are the flights I am on. Personally I would rather have a satisfacotry flight and have more to spend on holiday. (BTW I prefer fly drive, but sometimes if you book early for the low demand times you can get somegreat deals as well as the short notice deals).
