Okay, I posted a while back about getting Mears to the resorts from the airport and the respones were wonderful so I have another question.

My friend wants to go to Sea World and so she is looking at taxis and such to get her there from POP. Mears will cost her $14 per person round trip to take them to Sea World. So my question is, are there any other taxi services that can accommodate an electric wheel chair?

I told her that my dis friends came through for the last question so I'm trying again!! Thanks!!

There are also Checker Cabs (I think that's what theyre called) and they have a few wheelchair accessible vans . I think they're Ford Galaxies with wheelchair ramps at the back. Trouble is (or was September 03 when I last used them) that they only have three or four in the Orlando/Kissemee/Sandford area and some or all of them might be off the road at any time, especially in the middle of the day. The dispatcher will promise you a cab within 20 minutes, but it might not arrive. The regular Mears disabled van is much more reliable.

BTW, Checker cabs are owned by Mears.

If cost is your friend's overiding concern, he or she could use Orlando's public bus system 'Lynx'. Their buses have wheelchair lifts. Route 50 or 56 (can't remember which is which) runs from TTC to Seaworld every 30 minutes. TTC is the only pickup point at Disney, and there is no direct Disney bus POP to TTC. Your friend's best route is Pop to MK then monorail to TTC.

Very time consuming. Mears is worth the extra cost.

Thank you for the answer!! Cost wasn't her issue, it was my concern and I wanted to be able to save her some money, but it sounds like Mears is the best bet. I think she would prefer to spend a couple of extra dollars and not have to run all over town or never get a van!!

Thank you so much for your help!!
