Taxi's

It's between 40 - 60 $ depending on which point in Disney and which point on I-drive your traveling from/to

If the address on I-Drive is on the I-Ride Trolley route it may be much cheaper to get a taxi from DTD to the Premium Outlet Mall and then getting the I-Trolley from there. Taxi round trip from DTD to PO has always come in at around $30 round trip for us (always manage to hit traffic!) plus I set aside about 15-20% for a tip so I budget $40 ish.

Is it just one way you are wanting (I see you are doing the other way round - I-Drive to Disney)

Last year I did dolphin resort to universal and it was about $45-50.

When we went shopping and did dolphin to premium outlets (at the bottom of I drive) it cost about $30.

$50 isn't great as its then $100 for a return trip, but it's just so much quicker, convenient, comfortable and faster than messing about with buses, transfers, phoning for lifts etc, that we decided to do it before we left home. We intentionally took an extra $300 and decided that we would use it as our 'taxi money'.

Thanks for the replies.
I am still trying to decide where to stay on our next visit to Orlando (2013), cant decide between onsite, a villa or I-drive or Kissimmee . We've decided not to drive and wanted to include the price of taxis for getting about into our overall budget.

If you really don't want to drive then I would suggest having a look at the hotels around Lake Buena Vista. Many of them are walking distance from Downton Disney and also there are Lynx bus stops scattered about.

The best thing about being close to Downtown Disney is that you can walk to Saratoga Springs and catch a bus from there to the Parks. Lynx buses should take you to Seaworld and Universal.

You will find that the hotels in LBV are normally more expensive than I Drive and Kissimmee but you will end up saving more as you wont be spending loads on taxis.

Hi guys, sorry for the thread hijack, but I have a similar question.

We want to go to Premium Outlets not far from DTD (is that Vineland Road? Have I got the right name?)

Can you get taxis from DTD? Can't say I've noticed a rank there but I've never been looking! And roughly how much do you think it will cost?

Many thanks!

I've got a feeling there are taxis at the clock tower at DTD. Not certain though.

From DTD to Saratoga Spring Congress Park closest block in the hotel to Down town Disney is a 5-10 minute walk.

Thank you, although I don't know where the clock tower is... :upsidedow
I thought I had seen some around the Planet Hollywood area, but I'm not sure if they were just dropping off...

You can get them from any hotel!

We're staying at AKL - so it would cut costs a fair bit to take the Disney bus to DTD and get a taxi from there... :thumbsup2

When we have got taxis we have always gone to the taxi rank in Marketplace - close to Basin (the soap shop) just past the Ice Cream place.

Although, on our last onsite trip we were at OKW so just ordered a cab to pick us up from the hotel - about $20 to Premium Outlets and $35 to Universal.

Ah-ha! Thank you! So there's a taxi rank in Marketplace. Wonderful! Means I can do what I think I can. Will check if it's still there on our first visit of the holiday to DTD.
