Ok so we wont be having a car this year because of costs etc I was just wondering is there a taxi stand any where in WDW and has any one ever got a taxi to walmart

All the resorts, parks and DTD have taxi stands. I have read that at SSR you have to request a taxi at the lobby, but most other resorts have them waiting for you. Pop usually had about 3 waiting outside the lobby :thumbsup2

Is it just the 1 journey you will be doing by taxi?
If you are not going for a few months and you can drive I would not rule out a car yet. prices of car rental are dropping hopefully even more in the next 3 months. Just checked prices for 2 weeks, now from £214 incl, possible cheaper I only did a quick scan.
OK if you are eating all onsite and only the 1 trip to Walmart but if you like eating offsite what you save on food and taxi fares can almost match car rental prices.

Hello Wayne

Its not the cost of the renting it is the insurance as DFi is under 25 we had to pay an extra insurance cost it worked out very expensive last year even with a free car rental we only want to go to walmart and once as if we do have a car we will go to the malls and th at will deffintly make it expensive

thanks for the info tho i will deff make note of it

Did you pay at the desk for under 25 insurance? approx $25/day?
If youdo decide to rent again before age 25 prepay in UK with someone like USrentacar, its only £100 extra for 2 weeks cover.

Oh right yes we did pay at the desk at the end of our vacation

you know so much about every thing its amasing lol

Has anyone booked with USRENTACAR before??

Yes used them twice, last August and again this May, also have 2 more rentals booked with them for this August. They have been very popular on here for past couple of years but also check out all the companies below, depending on dates and offers they have on any could be cheapest for you.

We were going to avoid hiring a car because of the expensive surcharge for under 25s however the usrentacar Young Persons Insurance payable up front is alot cheaper to the additional $25 per day elsewhere! Just wondering if anyone else has used it?! No other insurance companies seem to do this unless someone knows of others??..

I know you asked about taxi's but you can easily take the lynx bus no 56 to walmart from the TTC. Stops outside the walmart on 192.

Oh really I never thought about a bus sorry what is TTC

$160

WOW that is way too much I just want to go for a cheap shop lol

we have used the uner 25 nsurance that virgin holidays offered once but have been back only after 25 so use usrentacar all the time and no problems

Highly recommend them

We went for my 21st and took taxis and thought they were quite expensive so once i turned 21 hired a car for a few days and so much easier, never go without one now

what is it like to rent a car for a weekend just so we could go to walmart and the malls

we booked it with the rep on resort via virgin holidays and it was epensive! we had a basice economy car for 3 days and i think it cost around $400, i think you could get the car for 2 weeks for th sterling amount from say usrentacar. even if you dont use it all the time its there incase you fancy going offsite

i just tried alamo through the disney uk site its £42.24 for two days with a $50 charge for under 25

thats good, i'm talking 9 years ago now that we hired the car and its always more expensve hiring out there i think that preordering it
