Concerned about how long it's going to take between parks on transport , as my daughter has Fibro Myalgia and can't stand for long i'm considering getting taxis to and fro. Is this difficult say for example to get a taxi from POFQ to MK ? Epcot to POFQ

Thanks

Have you thought of using an electric mobility scooter[1]. That way your daughter won't have to wait standing up. Also, if you are able to get the disability access card (I've only read about it and someone more knowledgeable will be along in a minute) your daughter should be able to get onto the rides without a long wait standing in the queue.

On the bus front getting from the Disney hotels to the parks on the bus is easy. At PO there are seats at the bus stops. Most of the parks don't have seats but do have barriers at the bus stops to lean against. The only time that it becomes a pain in the neck is when the crouds are spilling out of the parks and the volumes build up waiting for the busses back to the hotels.

:) Chris.

A tip if you leave the parks at closing is not to rush out to the buses - hang back, grab an icecream or something and find a nice place to sit and watch everyone rush for the exits :)

Once the rush has gone you won't need to wait in line at the bus stops :)

Changing to the Poly would vastly improve your transportation issues, since you would be on the monorail route.

If you ever need a taxi, don't worry, they are always readily available!

Have you checked the disABILITIES forum here? Lots of good advise on getting an ECV (electric scooter) from an outside company for a lower price than renting them at WDW.

How old is your daughter?
If she is under the age of 18, you will not be able to rent an ECV for her. You must be at least 18 to rent and use an ECV.
There is information about renting ECVs and wheelchairs from the parks and from the outside rental places on the disABILITIES Board. You will find it in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the board.

If you stay at the Poly, you will be able to take the monorail to MK and also to Epcot. The monorails are wheelchair/ECV accessible.

The card that was mentioned is called the Guest Assistance Card (GAC) and it is not meant to shorten or eliminate waits in line. What it does is provide more appropriate conditions for waiting based on the needs of a person with a disability. There is more information about GACs in the disABILITIES FAQs thread also.
For situations where someone has trouble standing in line, WDW calles those types of things 'Endurance Issues' and they recommend use of a wheelchair or ECV since the time/distance waiting in lines is just a small portion of the time spent walking standing in the park during the day. Most of the queues are wheelchair accessible, so you can bring the wheelchair into lines and have a place to sit while waiting.

Jo is 23, we have now decided as this is a holiday of a lifetime to stay at Grand Floridian she does have "Endurance Issues" standing is the worst of all . So, the idea of a wheelchair/scooter is a good .

Wonderful choice! You will have many nice restaurants to chose from at the GF as well as at the other monorail resorts (Poly & Contemporary), which will be easily accessable with the ECV.
Have a fantastic holiday! :sunny:
