Taxis at WDW from one resort to another?

I've never taken a taxi at WDW. However, if I decide that's the best way to get from BCV to OKW in the morning, where do I go to get a taxi? Ask at the front desk or what? Do I then have to wait for one to show up or are they usually waiting outside? And about how much would the fare be for one person going from BCV to OKW?

On your in room phone you push the button for the valet service and tell them you need a taxi, I think they ask your name and room number, they call one right away. We stayed at the WL this past Dec, I called valet services and we went right down stairs to the lobby and a van was there already waiting for us. There was just 2 of us, but the driver said that they have been using the vans lately as well as the cars. We went from the WL to the Beach Club and I think it was $10 or $12 not quite sure. One night we went from the Future World entrance of Epcot to the YC and it was about $8.00
