Taxi's and children in WDW, do they require...

Yep. And everyone who should be over 30, but are dead instead, aren't here to tell us how they wish they'd had the advantages of modern equipment to save them.

Apologies for the derailment of the thread, but the "I survived" manta generally fails to factor in the fact that the speaker was not one of the ones who was in a catestropihc accident.

MVAs kill more people, aged 1-34, than anything else. We protect our kids against strangers, pesticides, and vaccinate against communicable disease... why NOT spend $12 to stick a backlessa booster under their butt to protect them against the most likely cause of death?

THANK YOU!

OP-you may have 20yrs in medicine but quite obviously don't know the first thing about what a booster seat does. The AVERAGE age of a child in the united states who does not need a booster seat anymore is 10-12, NOT 7. That is to ride properly fitted in the seat belt and is based on recent data and testing. Only about 30-40percent of kids who SHOULD be in booster seats are actually in them.

Can your children ride without a booster seat in florida, yes, because florida has the worst child restraint laws in the united states and could care less about childrens safety right up there with my home state. Does that make it safe, absolutely not. But do as you please. We aren't *living in bubbles* by keeping our children safe, we are preventing what we can and knowing that if something were to happen that we did the best we could. Rather than living the what if's, I'd like to know that I did best by my children rather than what was most convenient. Its like saying well I could make my child wear a helmet while riding her bike, but hey *I* didn't wear one 20yrs ago so why should I do it now. Or a million other *scenarios* that we could play with here.

And also fyi, we don't need booster seats on buses, because buses use compartmentilization for safety which is far safer than riding in a standard car. They have different technology.

I know you probably won't care, but *my* info comes from my training, as I am a CPST with SafeKids USA and child restraint and safety in vehicles is my job.

I'd like to add that I don't get paid a single dime for what I do.......I do it because its what I love and its my passion, along with hundreds of others of advocates that you claim are worthless.

advocates that you claim are worthless.

I didn't say worthless I said "paid shills for booster seat companies and busy body nanny state know-it-alls."

I think my statement bears that out by the suggestion that 12 year olds need to be in booster seats.

I'm not inclined to look up the data on buses but like the paper on 4 year olds that was tried to be passed off as for 7 year olds, I think the "compartmentalization" of buses you speak of, when relating to children is for school buses. Not, as you suggest, for the buses we are talking about used in transport by WDW resorts.

VERY serious injuries can occur from buses. The idea that "bigger" wins is very misleading. No one "wins" in a traffic collision.

To each his own. The problem comes in when the "paid shills for booster seat companies and busy body nanny state know-it-alls." try and force their will upon others over the barrel of a state or federal agents gun.

It's laughable. 'put your 12 year old in a booster seat or I'll send men with guns to force you'.... yeah, way to be a safety advocate
