Taxidermy on a pet

Awww, some of those stories of grief are so sad. I don't even want to think about the day when I lose my dogs.

Take a locket of fur, tons of videos and a paw print if you must to help relive the memories of your furbaby.

There is nothing to be gained from a stuffed version except a pose that never moves and glass eyes that are just wrong.

To me, its not so much creepy as it is just so so sad. I would not want my dog's cold, lifeless body as a keepsake. I take plenty of pictures of my dogs now while they are happy and healthy so I will always be able to see them that way.

I dated a boy in high school whose father was a taxidermist...apparently it pays well lol. But can I just say their house gave me nightmares lol. His dad's shop was in this (albeit gorgeous) old barn on their property and it was full of his work (some in not quite finished state which is scary as heck to see). Then they had the den in their house full of their favorite kills (god love hunters ). I have never seen one of those giant bighorn goats in person but I was made to "pet" a dead one *shudder*.

I got to say though that I was amazed with one particular "pet"..my then BF's horse had died and his dad stuffed the dang thing..it had a saddle, bridle and all on it right at the entrance to the shop!! I remember riding that horse so it gave me the willies lol!

Thank god I didn't eventually marry into THAT family, perfectly lovely people but can you imagine the Christmas gifts?! Plus I would terrified if any of my pets died!
