Hi all we are dew to fly to Orlando from the uk in April (i know it might not happen) and we don't drive and was looking for recommendations for taxi service to us for our stay, we are staying in a villa so would need airport pick up and drop offs and to parks and shopping, do anyone one know of any good companies that might be able to help us out?

Taxis should be easily accessible at the airport. Just walk out from baggage claim and hail one. If you'd like to use a town car service, I suggest contacting Tony Hinds.

I also suggest using ride share (Uber or Lyft).

Mears runs the taxi service, and are often found on Disney property. But your other option, and probably a better option is to use Lyft & Uber - you will find them at the Airport as well as a quick option for the Disney parks.

Agree with the previous posters on Uber or Lyft. Uber/Lyft will be considerably cheaper than other options.

Tony HInds (who you were referred to on the Community board) gets great reviews and would be a good choice if you want to make a grocery stop. Uber/Lyft will not do a grocery stop en route to your resort.

If you're staying ONSITE at a Disney resort, Disney transportation will be the best choice.

OFFsite, Uber/Lyft will pick you up anywhere and drop you off anywhere you want to go.

Taxis should be available onsite, but may be hard to get offsite.

BTW, it would be very helpful if you told us specifically WHERE you are staying. You'll get a lot more accurate responses.

One other thing. For comparative estimates of fares for taxis, Uber, Lyft, etc, you can use RideGuru.com.

Just be aware that there are different levels of service for Uber and Lyft, so you need to know which one to check.
  • Basically, 3 or fewer people use Uber X or regular Lyft
  • 4-5 people must order XL on both platforms, and if you have 3 people with luggage, I would certainly order XL. When it's just DW, DD, and myself going to the airport, I order XL to be sure I have enough room.
Both Uber and Lyft apps are easy to download and easy to use. Both apps will also give you a more accurate estimate of your fare before you actually place your order -- so you'll know what it will cost unless you get caught in some unusual situation.

You can also use Uber in the UK, but not Lyft.
