We are planning on taking a taxi a couple of nights on our upcoming trip from late ADR's at some resorts and one at Epcot. Just wondering what people do about their children. We won't have a car seat for DD3. TIA

Also, does anyone have an idea how long it would take to ASMo from:

Epcot
O'hana's
Whispering Canyon
Chef Mickeys

A taxi won't have a carseat as livery is exempt so you will have to decide if you want to put your 3yo in a seatbelt to take the taxi.

ASMo is closest to Epcot and furthest from the MK area where the other three restaurants are located, I can't give you times unfortunately.

To even grab a taxi from Epcot your best bet is to exit through IG from LeCellier and walk or take the boat to one of the Epcot resorts, BC or BW and grab a taxi from there.

Honestly though since the bus will run at least an hour after park closing there is not much need for a taxi, esp from Epcot. The restaurants will close at or shortly after park closing so you can just take the bus from Epcot after your dinner at LeCellier.

You can also use the bus service from the other three restaurants by taking transportation from those resorts to MK and then the bus to the AsMo. From O'Hana and Chef Mickeys take the monorail to MK and from Wispering Canyon take the boat to MK.

When you check in you will get a transportaiton guide that you will find helpfull. Resort to park and park to park is very easy but resort to resort is more complicated.

Have Fun.

We were going to take a taxi because we thought it might be quicker than monorail and bus. (Especially since it will be very late for DD3). I think I will take your advice and take the bus from Epcot, though.

Thank you!!

If you prefer a carseat, I've heard of a Tote N Go, which is a portable child restaint for use only in cars. It weighs 4 lbs. Can't use it on airplanes, but I hear a lot of NYC parents use this. On the flip side, I do hear that it can be ill-fitting so you may want to check it out before you buy.

Thanks. I will check that out!

I have tried this and can't recommend it. Even after spending a long time trying to install it in both our cars DH could not get a good fit. It slides down on the seat so the child is actually strapped in and laying flat on his/her back on the seat. If my DH couldn't get it to fit correctly after spending 30+ minutes I can't imagine trying to get one into a cab fairly quickly. It is also not something I would want to carry around the parks for one taxi ride home.

IMHO a standard seatbelt in a pinch like a taxi ride is safer than the tote & go type seat.

When we were there in March of 2004, the taxi we took had a car seat stored in the trunk. When you call for the car, perhaps you could request one that has a seat. We were not expecting it, so we loaded into the car and the driver volunteered to get it out for us....nice!

We went in May and took taxis tto SeaWorld and early AR at CP both times the taxis had carseats in them - they were both minivan taxis I don't know if that would make a difference!
