Taxi to Universal?

DH and I are going for a LONG trip so it is going to be quite expensive to rent a car. We have 2 days planned in Universal -- is it worth it to rent a car -- OR how expensive is a taxi?

Here is a taxi fare calculator site. I ran Disney Institute (Downtown Disney) to Universal and it was around $25.

Is there any other way to get there --- shuttle or something?

You can call Mears and it runs about $22 round trip. Call the night before and they will give you options of pick up time. When you want to leave Universal, you call 1-2 hours before hand and they will give you the return times. There is also a bus from the TTC or DTD but maybe someone else can give you those details as we have never used it.

We took a cab from All-Star Music to Universal and it was about $30 each way. The Mears shuttle was $17 per person, way more expensive when there's 7 people.
