Taxi to discovery cove???

We will be staying at Coronado Springs, and have one day trip to Discovery Cove. (We don't rent a car). Will the taxi's that are always sitting outside the hotel take us to DC? Will there be taxi's outside of DC waiting for pickups to take us back to the hotel? I know we can prearrange through FL Tours pick up and drop offs, but would prefer the flexibility in times of a regular taxi - in case of rain, etc. Thanks!! Jane

If Discovery Cove doesn't have taxis sitting there, I am sure they will call for one. Plenty of people probably do the same thing. For the amount you are paying to go there, the least they can do is call you a cab. I would not worry about it.

I've also seen talk of this over on the Transportation Board. We're looking too, as we've got DC booked for this fall. I saw something from Mears about a shared park shuttle, for around $18/pp round-trip, I believe.

The taxis outside any resort will take you to Discovery Cove no problem. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get there and it cost us around $25-30 each way with tip 3 or 4 years ago. We did a twighlight program and wanted to head back around 10pm and had to wait for a taxi at Discovery Cove. they called one for us but it took around 20 minutes for it to come. Because of this, you may want to just reserve one to come back at a certain time or just be prepared for a possible wait depending on time of day and how busy they are.
