Our large group caught a few taxi's (really limos, so funny!!) to Atlantis - I videotaped the whole ride -
Anyway, We get there, check out the lobby, go downstairs and look into the aquarium windows, walk through the casino, past the expensive shops and through the Atlantis "catacombs" out past the RUI Resort to the Free Beach.....and that's it. If we wanted to do anything else in the Atlantis Resort, we had to spend $250 on a room! No Ifs, Ands or Buts.
That was the one day on the vacation when I did not Micro-Manage. We figured we'd just be Freebirds, go with the flow and see what will come up. But after being in the resort for a half hour and coming to a stand-still, my husband, who makes fun of my planning, was actually angry that I did not plan this one out. He didn't actually say that, but when I threw it up to him, he did not disagree.
So if I were to go back to Nassau, I would definitely find something else to do. If you're not paying for the day pass to Atlantis, it would be okay to visit the lobby and the shops and check out the casino (sans kids) and eat lunch there, but then you better plan something else to do outside of Atlantis 'cause security was all over the place and if you did not have a room there, they would not let you do anything. Maybe it was our large group?
