Taxi to and From Universal?

We are staying at BCV and are trying to decide if we want to take a taxi to Universal for one day or try and rent a car at the Dolphin for that day. My question is we know we can just call for a taxi at the BCV but want to know if taxi's are there at Universal to take us back or do we have to call again for one. Has anyone ever done this?

Bumping myself to see if someone could help me.

Basically I want to know if there are taxis waiting at the front entrance of Universal that we can catch to get back to our hotel at Disney. We are not sure we want to be committed to a specific time for pickup with a towncar, but we expect to stay until Universal's closing.

Cmbar - we are doing the opposite of what you are. We are staying at the Portofino at Universal, and going over to MNSSHP on 10/31.

What we did was arrange for a towncar to pick us up at the Portofino, and they told us that when we are ready to leave the Magic Kingdom, to call 1 hour before and they will pick us up. It's good, because you aren't committed to a definite time.

There are numerous taxis at the dropoff/pickup area at Universal/IOA.

There is even a guy at a podium with the word "taxi" on it.

We reserved Cartier to take us and pick us up to go to US from the Poly. Since they never showed to pick us back up that evening we were stuck at US. We took a cab back and it cost $35 plus tip.

Cmbar - we are using Tiffany Town Car. We have used them several times already, and they are very reliable. They are charging (I think) $60 for the round trip.

We use Tiffany everytime we go. We love them. It looks like for a car on their site it is $65 roundtrip so I think it is comparable to the taxis.


Clkelly Thanks! Thats exactly what I wanted to know. I wanted to make sure there were taxi's already waiting in case we do that route!
