I am wondering about the best way to get groceries, since we are arriving late. I don't really want to be waiting around for a grocery delivery on the first full day...we will want to get to the parks!

Has anyone taken a taxi to get groceries? I am wondering what I could expect to pay with the trip to and from and the wait while I shop.:confused3

well, we had to get a perscription at CVS which is a 10 min drive...had taxi pick us up and then drop at CVS...script wasnt ready...DH sent taxi away and came back and our total was over $100!! Never again!

You could place an order with gardengrocer or wegoshop. You dont have to be in the room when they come. They can deliver to Bell Services and they hold it there for you, they have refrigeration as well if you need it.

OMG, that is horrible. Glad we always rent a car, as we also had to get a perscription filled during our last trip and having the rental made that easy. It would've been cheaper for you to rent a car for the day! yikes.

A taxi is about $15-20 dollars EACH WAY including tip from SSR to the nearest grocery store. I would use wegoshop and just have Marge deliver to Bell services. Marge, the owner, is quite flexible if you plan in advance. We have had the same scenario and just had her come when we knew we would be in the room. We would schedule her to deliver between 4:30 and 5pm when we would be taking our break and getting ready for dinner.

I second the sentiment that you don't have to wait around, we have used Garden Grocer multiple times and were never there to receive the delivery; the groceries were just kept at bell services, and they refrigerated/froze whatever needed to be. When we were ready for the delivery, it was brought to the room.
We did this after using a taxi the first time (from BC) and paying about $80 for the drive there and back, and wait time. I think the garden grocer surcharge was about $15-$20.

We had to run to Walmart from AKV and it cost us approx. $50. If you call wegoshop and let them know you have a late check in they will leave groceries at bell services. that worked for us, we arrived very late 12 midnight and our groceries were waiting for us. Highly recommend them

OP, which resort will you be at?
I would suggest using one of the Hess stations to pick up some items. There prices are not bad.
